“Best view on the island, great Bajan food”
Reviewed March 8, 2011

We always make a couple of trips to Naniki when we visit the island every year. The view is incredible and its probably one of the most quiet and relaxing places in Barbados. The owner is really nice, and always stops by to ask how the food was or have a beer with you. The food is great - authenticate Bajan cuisine and a nice change from all of the "touristy" type food you get elsewhere on the island. There is always jazz playing, and it's nice to take a walk through the Anthurium garden after lunch. Highly recommended!

“great view - shame about the food”
Reviewed February 16, 2010

A long, but well signed road leads to a wooden building high up with fantastic views to the sea over lush green vegetation. We were ready to relax and enjoy the ambience with a leisurely lunch on the outside veranda, away from the heat of the midday sun. The numerous staff were smiling and welcoming. We ordered drinks Banks beer BD$8 and a soft drink BD7$. The salad part of the meal quickly arrived (unsual for the Caribbean)and we had barely started the basic leaves when the waitress brought the main course because she said 'it was ready'. Sadly it looked and tasted as if it had 'been ready' for some time!! Maybe all morning!! The flying fish (BD$ 35) was small and dried up, the few vegetables -carrots, broccoli were OK, (hardly Bajan specialties) but the mashed yam was dry and tasteless. Very overpriced.

A large party then arrived for a buffet lunch - served out of the hot tins being kept warm at the end of the veranda. I hope their meal was better than ours. When the bill arrived, we complained to the head waitress and she kindly accepted our comments and it was quickly decided that we would only pay for the drinks. This was an acceptable outcome, but it did spoil the day as it could and should have been a relaxing experience.

“Excellent Sunday Brumch Outing!”
Reviewed January 21, 2010

We reserved for Sunday brunch Dec 2009 over the Christmas holidays. It was great! The breathtaking views of the greenery all around and the backdrop of the ocean was beautiful. The buffet brunch superb, the rum punch exhilarating and the live jazz ensemble completed the whole experience. Tom, the owner of the establishment was very charming and quite attentive as well. The property also has cottages that can be rented. They were very nice, as we were able to have a tour of them. We will definitely return to Naniki on our next visit to Barbados.
