“The Cove at Cattlewash Eastern Barbados”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

The Cove is owned and run by LaurelAnn Morley and her daughters. This fine lady is a world renowned author of Caribbean Cuisine cook books. The welcome, service, food and view of the Atlantic coast are nothing short of outstanding. The food is Bajan/Caribbean and is excellent. The Restaurant opens 5 days a week for lunch only and on Sunday there is a fabulous buffet. Call 433-9495 for a reservation - you won't be disappointed!

“Authentic Bajan cuisine”
Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Very friendly service. Off the beat and track location on the east coast. Family run. We had the Sunday buffet which was ok but I wish we had gone on one of the other lunchtimes that it is open. If you've got a huge appetite it is good value but a BDS $80 pp I you've had a food breakfast you might not feel it represents good value. But if you want authentic Bajan food this is the best place on the island.

“Worth a visit if you can find it!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

Given the reviews you may think you are in for a gourmet experience but that is not the case. The food whilst very good is not cheap our curried shrimp had only 7 or 8 shrimp at 52$. There is no air conditioning or even fans and they are open just 4 lunch times. However mother and daughter are great fun and will chat for hours. Given its remote location I am surprised anyone gets there from the main tourist areas. Buses would take half the day taxis very expensive and you Will get lost going by car. However a great place for the adventurous.

“Amazing homemade food”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

We have visited The Cove once before and was treated to the Sunday buffet, but this time we visited on a Saturday afternoon and we not disappointed. Laurel Anne and her daughters are the perfect hosts. We were made to feel as if we were at home and nothing was too much bother. We were even given a handwritten recipe for our daughters favourite, the chocolate fudge cake. The coconut chicken curry was simply amazing the best curry I've ever had. If you do visit Barbados make sure The Cove is on your 'to do' list, you will regret it if you miss out.

“Real home made caribbean food made to perfection”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

I visted the cove restaurant in cattlewash next to bathsheba on the east coast for lunch during the week and returned again for sunday lunch buffet. I was not disappointed. The home made food is excellent and prepared by owner cook laurel ann morley and you are looked after by her 2 daughters and her bajan staff. I highly recommend her crab backs for starters that are just heaven. Her flying fish have the best batter on the island very light like tempura. In fact all the dishes are wonderful just try them all if you are there for the buffet, but you must book as she fills up fast. Try the excellent rum punch or a banks local beer. Her puddings are divine and laurel ann like to visit personally all her customers and ask them if they like the food and to advise them of the dish and the ingredients involved. A truly lovely lady. It is like eating in someones house and you are made to feel welcome. I like all the others who visit will be returning for this most enjoyable eatery. Lunch buffet is 80 bds plus tax. Without drinks. It is not cheap but has quality food. The service is a bit slow but you are well looked after
