visited with my partner recently.

starters of spicy fired chicken (not spicy at all) and chicken satay (just ok)

Mains of chicken with black bean sauce for myself and Pad Thai for the lady.

My mains was ok but the pad thai was awful. Hardly ate any of the pad thai as it didnt taste anything like other dishes we have had anywhere in the world (including thailand).

Someone mentioned before it seems more chinese and i would go with that.

Service also quite slow (we were the only people in until another lady turned up). The decor inside is very dated and could do with a makeover.

Would not go back here although might consider the chicken with black bean as a takeaway

This restaurant is down a side street past the garage and KFC on the other side of the road. It is very dated and plain inside with plastic tablecloths and plastic plates. The food is more Chinese than Thai and goes cold very quickly as not served on hot china plates. However if you can over look that then the food is good value and quite tasty. The crabmeat and sweet corn soup was delicious. The fried beef noodles easily served 2 people and was only £6 (20 Barbados dollars). Can also recommend the sweet and sour chicken and the Thai Green Curry, although the peppers seem to have been added afterwards as were quite crispy and had not soaked up any of the flavours. For the money the food was good and would go back there particulary if you were trying to eat cheaply.

Since there only seems to be 2 other reviews for this place, I thought I would contribute.

We went to Asian Palm on New Year's day, since there was very little else open in Holetown. We joked that we might as well go across the road to KFC and treat ourselves to a couple of orders of fries.

Asian Palm positions itself to be a Thai/Asian cuisine restaurant, an it has a very basic cafe feel to it. In the UK, this type of restaurant is very popular, since the budget feel usually means very low prices and amazing food. However, at Asian Palm, this is not the case.

The tables were covered in plastic film, and were sticky. The chairs were of the cheapest plastic furniture variety. The menu was plastic covered, and was also sticky. The most concerning thing about the menu was the price of the dishes - $23 barbados dollars for vegetarian Pad Thai? This is top London swanky uptown restaurant money. The food here must be amazing - this must be some sort of Pad Thai Royale! we thought.

We ordered Pad Thai, Tofu in Black Bean Sauce and Vegetable Yellow Curry, and rice as a side.

First up was the Pad Thai: it didn't look or taste anything like any Pad Thai I have ever had. It was just a bunch of vegetables with a few broken strands of flat noodles in it. It didn't taste of much at all, and didn't have the usual Pad Thai style sauce, nor and bean sprouts or ground peanuts. In fact it was so bland and didn't appear to have been seasoned.

We then tried the Yellow Curry. The same vegetables that were in the Pad Thai were present, nothing else. On tasting the sauce I had an immediate flashback to 1975 and my first and only ghastly experience with tasting a Homepride Cook-in Curry sauce, mainly because it looked like it had been thickened with flour or some other horrid substance. It gave an aftertaste similar to that of a pot noodle. Again, this was rather bland and not spicy at all. Actually I'm being kind - it was really really awful.

Lastly, the Tofu in Black Bean Sauce: actually not as bad as the other dishes, but still pretty low quality - very bland and not spicy at all.

The rice was fine - but no gold star for getting that one right I'm afraid.

We fiddled with the food for a short while and promptly left after paying the bill of $111 Barbados dollars that included the above, plus a Banks Beer and a Rum and Coke, plus service that was added to the bill.

KFC would have been better.

went 3 times the food is good, no ambience but is good value for a family in Barbados to eat out. Alas tonight with no one else in the restaurant but several takeaway orders the wait was unbearable, main courses came out over a twenty minute period after at least an hour wait, so some had finished well before others started. Slightly confrotational when asked when we could order drinks and why dishes taking so long, when we were the only customers, a real shame
