All Seasons Resort Europa
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in Sunset Crest

There are plenty of swanky hotels in Barbados, we walked past many and had the odd beer in them, full of Americans and wealthy Brits. My view of those hotels is that they look good but service is often poor and most Bajans look like smartly dressed, reluctant workers in such surroundings. The Europa Hotel is the real deal if you want a more authentic experience. Large grounds; American condo style, with relaxed friendly staff. Excellent room cleaning and everthing you might need to make a spacious self-catering 'home from home'. A quiet friendly relaxed place with a Curry House beside the pool. The curry is probably 50% more expensive than at home and portions slightly smaller but a great setting beside the illuminated pool. Huge bedrooms, slightly dated but charming. This place grew on me as the holiday progressed and would be happy to return. I'm quite fussy and appreciate contemporary hotels but this experience was so relaxed and free with everything catered for that I could forgive any rough edges. There is a shuttle bus which can be used twice a day, lovely obliging staff, excellent cleaning, pool table, restaurant, cable TV, iron and board.....all the basic kitchen things you need to self cater and hardly any mosquitoes. It's situated a few minutes walk from the sea close to some of the prettiest quietest beaches. I snorkeled with turtles by hijacking a glass bottomed boat feeding show. Plenty of shops nearby, a fairly Americanised feel. Great local buses at $2 (bajan) per journey regardless of length, some are playing reggae on board, some gospel, it's all very cheerful and uplifting. Get out and mix with the people, especially go to the fish fry in Oistins on Friday evening for music and food. Be brave and get bus 27 from the airport for $2 instead of a taxi for $60. Forgive the slightly rough edges in places because substance wins over style here. I would have no hesitation in going back.

Room Tip: not too close to reception is best.

Great place for a quiet holidays. Cottages are perfect for those who love to cook their own food. I especially enjoyed my long breakfasts in the terrace, while feeding birds or monkeys, and quiet evenings with bowl of delicious fruit salads while watching TV or listening to tree frogs:) It's a nice walking distance to the beach, which was just perfect for my early morning exercise, and Holetown - for supermarket, shops, restaurants, or the post office, if you feel like you must send 'a card from the paradise':) There are also couple public beaches, which I loved for socialising. Throughout my whole holidays I felt totally safe, and found everyone very friendly and helpful. The hotel staff was exceptional. Everyone seamed relaxed and happy, while being very friendly and helpful organising trips and answering questions. The pool area was nice and clean, great to enjoy some sunshine (and some shade when you have to:)) There is a free wifi, which works well in the public hotel areas. All in all, I had a really pleasant stay at the All Seasons Resort, and would definitely love to come back!

My husband and I had been to the island before but now with a baby had to look for a different type of holiday. One where we and the little one could enjoy the resort as well as further afield easily. We found it here at the All Seasons Europa. We had a garden view cottage which was great for our adventurous 18 month old as she could pop off the patio into a safe space, within our sight, but discover the coconut trees, flowers and plants for herself without us worrying where she was. It was all very well kept too. There is a pool on the complex, with a kiddy pool separated off, where we spent a lot of time. The pool side and grounds around it being kept clean and welcoming. The bar and restaurant is poolside too. The highlight though were the family of green monkeys who lived near the complex but who would troop through it daily to their gathering/feeding place. That was amazing and a privilege to see something so natural so close up.
The staff too should be mentioned as they were all very accommodating to our needs. If little one was napping for instance, the cleaner would come back when more convenient. It all added up to a lovely, easy, no hassle break.

My husband and I stayed at the All Seasons Resort for a week in May 2014. The All Seasons is definitely not a glitzy five star resort, but it is nice and quiet and will meet your needs. The resort has a very homey feel. We came to know several of the other visitors during our stay. The pool area is nice. We enjoyed the set-up of the living and dining areas in our room. The couch and chairs were very comfortable for reading or watching television (there aren't many channels & it seemed like Sponge Bob was ALWAYS on). The rooms around the pool are all had a patio with chairs and a table. There were also tables, chairs, and loungers in the lawn area outside the rooms. The resort is also home to 3 cats, so bring some food or treats with you (it is VERY expensive to buy from the store). We found little Mittens on our patio several mornings and she even invited herself in while I prepared her some breakfast.

The staff was top-notch and extremely helpful. We celebrated our anniversary while there, and they sent a beautiful floral arrangement to our room. They also arranged reservations and transportation to our dinner that evening with suggestions on the restaurant, Cin Cin. They also let them know it was our anniversary, so we were surprised with extra dessert and complimentary champagne. (thank you Cheryl!!!) If you have any questions before your trip you can email them (make sure and check your spam folder for the reply) or call them (toll free from the US). They were able to arrange transportation from the airport for us and some tips on things to do. (thank you Nyoka!!). They also helped us navigate the bus lines and suggested places to hike close to the site seeing destinations we went to. The bartenders were all great. Delroy, Kyle & Jeremy; they all went above and beyond with the biggest smiles on their faces.

We ate breakfast most mornings at the resort and it was good and reasonably priced (don't forget to ask for the Bajan pepper sauce to try on your eggs or potatoes.) They do seem to be on "island time" so breakfast may or may not be available at 8:00 when they open. (if you are a fan of Sweet-n-low, remember to pick some up at the grocery store, or bring it with you, they don't have any at the restaurant).

There is no bartender on site from 1:00-4:00, and that was a shame since it seemed like that was the busiest time at the pool.

There are several restaurants within walking distance of the resort:
Good Choice Chinese: very good & the cheapest meal we had in Barbados
Zachios: on the beach, great views
The Beach Club: great view, food OK at best
Café Moya: great pizza & ice cream, lots of vegetarian & gluten free options (wish we discovered sooner)

We also really enjoyed Mullins Beach in Speightstown. You can get a beach chair for $10 and there is a beach bar right there.

The buses are only $2 BBD or $1 US to ride. They have designated stops, but we found that if we waved, they would always stop & if you told them where you wanted to go, they would drop you off right out front. It is about a 10 minute walk to the main street to catch the bus.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the All Seasons and would stay there again.

The All seasons is located just outside Holetown on the beautiful West Coast. It is about a 15 minute walk from the local supermarket and Holetown beach. Buses run regularly and you can take any bus journey for the equivalent of about 60p, Bridgetown approx 20 mins on a reggae bus. All seasons is described as a budget stay, all the rooms are in the form of condominiums. They have a terrace with furniture, are all ground floor level, some are garden facing, others are pool facing. They have a lounge area, dining area, well equipped kitchen, seperate bedroom and shower room. Fans in living space and bedroom plus air con in bedroom. You need it at night as the temp does not drop much below 25c. The pool area is nice, lots of palm trees a laid back bar, Asian style restaurant and reception. The staff at All Seasons are the best, very knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and very friendly. They can arrange any excursions you want to do, and will arrange taxi transfers to the airport if required. The cleaning staff change your towels every other day, and there is a linen change every 4 days. They always seem too know when you are not there as every time I returned to my room, the floor in the kitchen had been cleaned, bins emptied, and this is a budget self-catering establishment. A couple of tips to mention. Restaurants in Barbados are quite expensive if you are on a budget. Eat street food, every week day around 1230, two sisters park up a couple of vans just by the entrance to Sunset crest, a couple of minutes walk from All Seasons. They cook some of the best stews, jerk chicken, blackened fish that I have ever tasted and only 16 Barbados dollars a plate, that's just over £5.00 GBP a plate. There is also a burger/ steak bar about 15 mins walk that is inexpensive called Just Grillin, fast food but not a McDonald's. Real homemade burgers and delicious side orders. If you like fish, buy it fresh from the fish market at Paynes Bay, a 6 minute bus ride. I bought 12 flying fish fillets for 10 Barbados dollars, that's less than £4.00 GBP. There's also a Roti at Paynes Bay, another eating establishment that makes spiced wraps with chicken, beef or fish for about £6.00 GBP, you can get them to make them as hot as you like. The local beach at Holetown is lovely and when I was there very quiet. Paynes Bay beach is beautiful too. Excursions worth doing are visiting the Harrisons caves, definitely swim with the turtles and for the young at heart the dinner dance at the Harbour Lights. The Harbour Lights is an evening of loud carribean music, fire eaters, stilt walkers, a limbo dancer and good fun. Back to the All Seasons. For those of you less mobile the resort is fairly wheelchair friendly with ramps for access. All the grounds are fairly flat and there were a number of wheelchair user guests whilst I was there. So my summary for All Seasons, it did exceed expectations, a relaxing stay, very clean, well equipped rooms with satellite TV, reasonably priced bar, excellent staff. The only negative comment I would make is that the beds are a little on the hard side if you are not used to a firm bed, other than that, I can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: Pool side rooms re good for wi-fi and not noisy but I preferred the quiet of a garden room, up to yo...

We loved this place, really peaceful and the monkeys around the complex made it extra special for us. The pool was never too crowded so that was good. A nice easy walk to the main road and bus stops to other places up and down the coast. We liked the beach access across the road. Our accommodation was clean and adequate. All the information we needed was available from the front desk, overall customer service was ok but I wouldn't rate it as excellent as it very much seemed to depend on who was on the desk at the time! My only criticism was often the person on the front desk was clearly on a personal call and I sometimes felt an inconvenience as I waited for them to wrap up the call or ask the person to hold whilst they dealt with me! A minor thing though and didn't affect our enjoyment. We would stay here again.

We stayed at the Europa over Christmas 2013, the second time we have stayed there. Excellent value for the location. Cottages have plenty of space, nice and clean and well fitted out. Like the new televisions and curtains since our last visit Staff are really friendly. We were in a lovely quiet corner and love being able to park the car close by, just like having your own front door. We will be back again soon.

Room Tip: Far corner cottages are best because few people will walk past. Numbers 45 and up are best.
