We ate there on friday night and I loved the flying fish. It was seasoned to perfection. We ate at another place around the corner from Pat's tonight and Pat's was much better. You get lots more food at the competition, but it wasn't nearly as good.

One of Barbados' specialities, EVERYONE goes to the Friday Fish Fry for good food and conversation. It's a must!

What can I say, great food, good entertainment and lovely people. It was only a walk away from the hotel, but everyone was so friend and so nice.

I ate so much and even took some back just because it was really nice.

If you love seafood as much as I do then this is a must.

Endless open-air restaurants, BBQ's, smoke and fire, heaving crowds, ear-bursting noise. Terrible. Couldn't wait to get away.

Then the local reggae dancers come on stage to show their individual skills. Suddenly, the noise diminishes as attention is focused on various dancers ('Michael Jackson', break-dancers, movers and shakers etc.) Great to watch.

Advised to clear away by 10pm because of Friday night hoards coming in from surrounding bars.

Overall, glad we went to experience it, but probably wouldn't do it again.

We went to Oistins twice when we were in Barbados and had such a good time! You have to visit just for the experience. The locals and tourists go here. Friday nights is fish night but there's lots of other things to eat too and its all Caribbean food. Pats is always the busiest but we went to the food stall next door to that as they didn't have a queue and the food was really good and quite reasonably priced. You basically order at the stall and they cook it and give it to you there and then you find a seat - like one big BBQ. There is a main stage where people get up and dance/sing/do anything they fancy! There's also lots of little stalls selling various things and there's an area where all the locals sit and play board/card games. It is busy and lively but well worth the visit just to wander around for the atmosphere. We went in Limes bar which is just across the main road and they do karaoke so that's quite good fun. The rum there is strong!
