As already said by all other reviewers it does get busy but it is definitely worth visiting on a Friday night! The fish is delicious and as fresh as can possibly be! Huge portions for a small price approx 25 - 30 BDS per meal. It is very lively but worth a visit. We travelled from Hastings about 25 USD each way, much easier than using organised transport. Felt very safe, be prepared to share a table with strangers but we found everyone v friendly and happy to chat and share experiences of Barbados. Pat's Place was recommended by our hotel and it did not disappoint

Simple local in Oistins, almost self service. Fly fish and sworfish good, grilled in a workmanlike, where you can enjoy creole.

Went to George's restaurant in Oistins, the food was spectacularly good and the atmosphere very friendly. This is the real island experience. We went on a thursday night, it was busy but not as crazy as the fridays and saturdays reputedly are. Not to be missed for anyone who wants the true Bajan experience.

We went to George's and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely recommend his place. We had dolphin but not the real dolphin lol. The atmosphere was lovely buzzing. The only let down was the service. I know it was very busy but the service was very slow.

Although there was an organised trip from our hotel, it left at 6:30pm and we had been told this was too early so we made our own way there by taxi ($20 Barbados) each way and about 10 to 15 minutes away from Bougainvillea beach resort Maxwell beach.
There were hundreds of local people and tourists there on the Friday night we visited. Several stalls offering freshly cooked (BBQ'd) fish which had been caught that day. Some stalls sold burgers and other meat, but the main reason to go is the fish supper.
There are stalls selling souvenirs, clothing, shoes, costume jewellery and there is a stage where a live band performs and everyone joins in dancing. Reggae rhythms and happy people, a wonderful combination. We felt safe, and felt just like a weekend night at home, but like anywhere, be on your guard. Police presence was overt and they seemed to be very alert, and I'm so glad we have the memory of this amazing event.
