Description: Surfer's Cafe is an awesome restaurant with a very laid back atmosphere, cool vibes and rustic charm, located opposite Massy Supermarket on the western edge of Oistins. From our balcony, guests can enjoy unrestricted views of the beautiful Oistins Bay, the nearby fishing village is always a hive of activity and guests can watch the authentic, locally hand crafted fishing vessels coming and going. It’s also an ideal location to view breathtaking sunsets while enjoying an early dinner, or cocktails. Surfer’s Café, is a family styled, surfer themed restaurant, and with an established surfing community on the island, we can’t go without pointing out our close proximity to two local surf spots "Freights Bay" and "South Point" to the south east.

I've lived on the island for nearly 2 years, and have visited Surfer's Cafe countless times. The setting it stunning, the food is great and fairly-priced, and the atmosphere is perfect. If you are booking ahead, make sure you ask for a table close to the ocean.

We used to live on the South Coast and when we moved up to the West Coast I really wanted to bring this place with us. We have eaten at the 'classier' restaurants in Barbados, but the chilled nature of this cafe coupled with excellent and friendly staff (who have good taste in music - we are almost always pleasantly surprised at the artists playing in the background) keep enticing us back.

PS - they do great breakfasts too!

On our recent trip to Barbados my family stopped in for two meals at the Surfer's Cafe. We were lucky enough to go on a Sunday evening - that is when they make their delicious Fish Tacos. Crispy fried flying fish with a variety of accents (I recommend adding a touch of Bajan hot sauce) plus a Corona for $25.00 (BAD - or $12.50 USD) is a great deal. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our next visit was a week later but for lunch, so no Fish Tacos. We all ordered Fish that Fly - flying fish and chips. Nicely battered, crispy, tasty, great lunch. The smoothies are very good and the milkshakes are outstanding.

We ate here twice on our trip--very reasonable, nice view of the Ocean and an overall mellow vibe.

[Tip: As with many places right on the ocean parking is limited so park at the grocery store just across the street.]

If you go on Sundays they have fish tacos. (Fried flying fish--the national Barbados dish.) They were fantastic! One plate comes with two fairly large fish tacos and a corona for $10. Really hard to beat that price. They also had a guitar/singer duo that added to the ambience.

The fried gaujouns are a great little app and the fish and chips also a hit.

They have espresso drinks here (hard to find in Barbados).

If you're looking for great atmosphere, nice views and reasonable fare this is for you. We found it made a nice end to a day at the beach.

My husband and I dined at this wonderful cafe/restaurant last night and what a find! We hadn't booked so were seated inside bit that was fine. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone to enjoy. We both had a different meal and both were exquisite and plentiful. We had both set designs on a certain dessert but, alas, we were too full to eat anything else after just a main course. Next time we go, I think I will opt for a starter and a dessert.
The staff are all attentive and helpful but not intrusive. It is dimly lit but that gives a nice ambience.
There was live music with a beautiful and wonderful singer accompanied intitally by an amazing guitarist/cellist. What talent! As if that wasn't enough, within a short while of their session, a friend passed by who is an, equally talented, keyboard player. We could have stayed all night listening to them.
If you want good food, reasonably priced in a great atmosphere served by lovely staff, go to Surfers Cafe. You are guaranteed a great time.
