Just returned from a very nice holiday, staying in Turtle Beach. This hotel has the nicest, most helpful and friendly staff of any hotel we have ever stayed in, they were always smiling and friendly and really made our holiday more enjoyable. A big THANK YOU to all.

Room Tip: We had a Junior Suite on the third floor, great view of the beach. Balcony was great for sitting ou...

We have just got back from our second visit to Turtle Beach and it was just as we had remembered. The great thing for us is the ease of this holiday - you can just sit back and relax! The hotel is a nice size so you don't feel cramped and there is a enough space for the children to run around but they can't get too far.. The kids club staff could not do enough, they are so lovely with the children and my youngest asked to go every day! A welcome relief for her to be able to do some craft out of the mid day sun and great in the evenings when all three could watch movies if we wanted an adult dinner. The food is fine, nothing really special, but not bad. The BBQ and Caribbean buffets were actually very good, but otherwise we went for the a la carte which we found better quality. There is certainly a good variety, but I wish they wouldn't try so hard to be ''international' and instead offer more local fare which they cook a lot better! The drinks flow, the house wine is drinkable though it would be good to have a choice of rose in the sunshine and a more inventive cocktail list... The place is kept very clean which is great, the bathroom by the pool is cleaned several times a day and the pool also cleaned and checked. Housekeeping did a good job with fresh towels and keeping the room sand free despite the proximity of the beach! The rooms are spacious, beds have nice linens, and yes the bathrooms could do with updating, but they are clean and everything works fine! The service is in general really good, with everyone being friendly and helpful and some in particular being really lovely - Tara at the front desk, Sonia and Juliette in the kids club, Maradonna by the beach, Jacqueline at the restaurant to name but a few. Sam's team are also great and look after you really well making sure you have what you need. The beach is beautiful but the waves and undercurrent do mean that it is not the calm waters of the Caribbean side. On the plus side you have a wonderful breeze, but on the minus side we didn't swim in the sea as much as I would have liked. However, you can visit the other inclusive hotel Crystal Cove which we did and enjoyed their calm waters...we were very pleased to return to Turtle Beach though as much preferred the atmosphere there. Overall this hotel is a great family choice, it is laid back, friendly and unpretentious and I am sure we will visit for the third time as it ticks so many boxes for us!

We have just left the hotel and I can't thank the staff enough for making the stay so very comfortable and being ever smiling at every request especially Tracy, Ryan and Nigel!!! The food was great but would only suggest they explore having a few more vegetarian options please! I would definitely come back and especially with children as probably one of the most child friendly places to stay I have been too! The rooms are spacious and clean, the beach and pools are always kept clean and the staff on the beach are very helpful! I just don't have enough words to rate the service received and would recommend to anyone to go visit!!

As my title infers we never go back to the same place twice as the world is too big a place and I’d like to see as much of it as possible. In the case of Turtle Beach I could make an exception and that is high praise. We arrived from Antigua latish and were given a ground floor room, as we felt a little exposed we asked for a change and within half an hour we were given a second floor room.
Having stayed at the Verandah in Antigua we felt the hotel initially was a little cramped but in daylight we were amazed that the grounds were quite spacious. After a hearty breakfast we explored the beach, where we were greeted by Capt. Sam’s boys who could not do enough for us, they positioned our sun beds and provided the most comfortable lounger cushions imaginable. Loungers had a retractable hood, necessary as there were no parasols at the beach. When we used the pool area parasols were available. Drinks and ice lollies were also delivered to our lounges.
From the moment of arrival to our departure we had exceptionally good service being well looked after at meal times by Emerson and Jacqueline. At the resort there were three restaurants, the Chelonia with the Asiagos and the Waterfront being available on alternative days. Bookings for the latter two were required with 24 hrs. notice, as the Asiagos only catered for about 45 sittings it was full most days by 0700hrs. the day before. However, our only experience of the Asiagos (An Italian Restaurant) wasn’t good in so much that they ran out of the vegetarian meal option for my wife after an hour and my chicken was served in ketchup that posed as a Mediterranean sauce. We did however get an apology from the General Manager for the shortfall in standards on our departure. Meals at the other two were very good and they even went out of their way to cook up some breadfruit for us something we liked on our first visit to the Caribbean. Meals here for vegetarians are really good.
Entertainment was provided in front of the Chelonia restaurant in the centre of the large courtyard. In general all the acts were good and most involved the audience in some form or another.
Whilst in Barbados we took two excursions, one an Island site seeing trip and the other a catamaran trip to swim with turtles. On the first trip a must see is Harrison’s cave where you are conducted underground in trolley carts to see all manner of stalagmites and stalactites. Also included were Andromeda botanic Gardens and the wildlife reserve.
Our second trip involved a day out in a 47’ air-conditioned sailing catamaran, we were lucky and used a company R&R Cruising Charters (see their web site) and apart from another couple we had the boat to ourselves. On the trip we were pampered and well looked after. If you want luxury then use these as other catamarans arriving at the turtle bay looked really full and cramped.
Overall the holiday here went too quickly but we had a great time everything about this place was good, meals bar one, staff and the friendly atmosphere and the many nice people we met there. It was a really good holiday.

Sorry for not getting this in before now. It's been a year since our Barbados trip and we remember it fondly. Before we head off on an adventure to the the Amazon we figured we had better get this done. Barbados is worth seeing. We stayed at the Turtle Beach Resort. It isn't on the Platinum Coast, where the waves are smoother and the prices higher. Our room was on the first floor flanking the area where the nightly entertainment happened. Our first night we went straight from arrival to the fish fry (every Friday night in Oistens and not to be missed) and were so tired we didn't hear much. After that we found it ended by 10 every night so no big deal. The staff was great, the food fine (with nightly choices as to which place to eat in and changes like eating by torch light on the beach, at the Italian restaurant or at a buffet) and the amenities all we needed and wanted. Captain Sam and his crew will make sure you have a beach chair, take you out on a catamaran or show you how to kayak or surf. Only the jet ski and surfing lessons cost extra. The activities group will meet with you the first morning and help you sign up for tours, shopping trips, etc. One fun day was on a catamaran where we swam with sea turtles (they are fed so swim right around the tourists). After a group tour of the island we rented a car on two days and went everywhere. We went back to see Bathsheba (gorgeous huge rock structures on the beach) on the eastern shore, went to Welchman Hall Gully to see the green monkeys and plants and bought pottery up in the hills at Earthworks Pottery. We visited 3 of the 4 lighthouses around the island (none in good repair, unfortunately), went shopping in Bridgetown and saw the Bajan Roots & Rhythms dinner show. We didn't spend much time on the beach or at the pool, but when we did we made friends with some Brits who come every year and had fun with the water toys. We thought the all inclusive stay at Turtle Beach was a great buy. Get out there and tour. The only oops we found, was when riding across the island. We came to a sign that we should have paid better attention to. The road wasn't damaged - it was washed out! Apparently torrential rain from a hurricane caused it and it hasn't been repaired. Part of the adventure!

Room Tip: Some face the water, some face the pool. All noise is done by 10 pm anyway. First floor was convenie...

If you care about a high standard of service from the staff then this is the place for you. This was my 6th trip to Barbados and definitely the best customer care I've received. From the waitresses at dinner to the guys on the beach bringing drinks out to the customers, even the general manager walks around with a smile to check if everybody is ok. As for the rest of the points... It's Barbados ! The beaches are beautiful and the food is fish, chicken and rice. There is a lovely hot tub that you can sit in as the sun goes down and sip a cocktail.

The only draw back if any is the location as the local beach boys are a real pest at night and to walk from the hotel to the gap is impossible without being offered something you don't want. If the local police/security team could keep these pests away from the hotel then it really would be amazing, the alternative is to take a taxi ( which we ended up doing ) but why should you when you fancy a nice leisurely stroll.

The rumours are true though I'm afraid, the Gap has lost it's sparkle !

If you're looking to stay within the hotel for your stay then you'll love this place. A special mention to Maradona by the pool who is always smiling and the lady on reception who absolutely fantastic.

Once again, well done to the team here they are excellent.

( For the lads... They have excellent coverage of all the premiership games in the rooms and in the bar so if you can get away with taking 2 hours to 'get served' then you're quids in ! )

I surprised my sister for her wedding here and it was past my expectations. The staff were amazing. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and the wedding was picture perfect. It was wonderful choice for families. the included food was very good, there was plenty of dining options to choose from. whilst initially it might sound expensive, when you add up all the food, drinks etc. it actually works out quite reasonably, especially for families.
