“Typical, decent overpriced resort restaurant food”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Great hotel, but just decent food at the Grill. Service was ehhh, and the food was not bad, but way overpriced, as any resort restaurant is. Wasn't bad, wasn't great.... Fresh local coconut ice cream was AWESOME though!

“Classy steakhouse in classic US tradition”
Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

We ate here the last night as it was the only Steakhouse we could easily find . Good ambiance , great steaks , food was well priced , we paid $100+ for two bottles of basic Red wine, a Chianti and Cotes de Rhone, that took the meal for 4 people to around $325 US , so it's getting up into Mortons , Ruth's Chris prices , and they aren't up to that mark , but in 5 nights out on the Island this was the best place , so I'd def go back ..Patrick our server was super efficient and friendly as was Andre the chef who walked the room and chatted with diners to make sure they enjoyed his food.. A nice touch .. All in all ,great food. Great people, be prepared to pay though , as with all good things they come with a price .

“Nothing special”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

The restaurant had an upscale decor and very comfortable seating. We had the lobster salad and a soup for starters, followed by a mixed grill and prawn linguini for mains. To finish off, a soufflé and a chocolate fondant. The food was decent, but service was very slow at times. Also, both desserts had been in the oven for too long, which was a bit disappointing.

I had an issue with the overpromising menu descriptions. Ordering a mixed grill, you would expect a significant portion of food, but this was not the case here (the linguini was easily a bigger portion). Similarly, the fondant was given a menu heading of “death by chocolate fondant”, and it was hard not to laugh when the plate arrived. I could eat one of those daily without death getting any closer!! Our bill was 315 BBD, including one glass of wine. A convenient option if you are staying at the Hilton, but probably not worth a visit otherwise.

“Not 5star”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

The Hilton Barbados is not 5 star hotel/restaurant. It's a lovely spot on the beach and the staff are lovely but the restaurants let the place down. We didn't try the grill but we used the other two eateries and the food was dreadful and the service was very laid back .

“Fantastic food, terrible service”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

The dinner we ate here was the best we had in Barbados (perhaps because we did not venture far enough afield, but we like to eat dinner close to where we are spending the night). Our complaint was the length of time it took us to get anything at all (even though the restaurant was fairly empty). We did not get our appetizers until we had been sitting there for more than 50 minutes. Since for the first 30 minutes we had noting at all - no bread and no wine, we were beginning to get desperate. (To be fair, we ordered a wine that they later came back to say they didn't have, but when we pointed out that we had successfully ordered the same wine the previous night from the hotel's other restaurant- the Lighthouse, a Pinotage that was very good for the price - the waiter agreed to go and get it.)
After we finished our appetizers there was another wait of nearly 30 minutes before the main course arrived. It was unfortunate because the food was excellent, but we decided against going back again.
