2010- My then fiancé and I had considered pretty much every location around the world to get married in. Our requirement was simple, a very personal, small wedding in a pretty location with friends and family staying with us, with lovely accommodation and food. Italy was out as it was just too expensive and what seemed quite exploitative as soon as 'wedding' was mentioned. We had considered Barbados, but we felt that many of the hotels that did weddings might have been a bit conveyor belt like. By this point we were a bit despondent and were thinking lets just get married in the UK. It will be a lot easier...

We first visited Barbados in June 2010 on a last minute holiday and we stumbled across Little Good Harbour one day whilst exploring the island. We were starving so went in for lunch and fell in love with the views from the Fishpot restaurant and it's style. Beautifully understated. Perfect and exactly what we had been looking for. We wondered if they did weddings? Thankfully they did and we got a complete tour of the hotel and its rooms and pretty much a set price. That would be our wedding location.

We spent the next year and a bit preparing. Initially it's probably fair to say that we found it a little too laid back. We weren't necessarily sure if things were sorted or not and exactly what the costs were. However, don't let this put you off. I think Bajan's work on a 'just in time' basis and that works for them. You just have to trust them.

So, fast forward to November 2011 and we returned to Barbados with about 20 of our closest family and friends for our wedding at Little Good Harbour. We only have positive things to say about Little Good Harbour, the staff were very helpful especially Graham (who was exceptional) and Trevor who did all they could to ensure our stay and our wedding ran smoothly. We had our wedding meal in the Fishpot restaurant, the food was outstanding and service was excellent. I would say that the food was the best I've ever had at a wedding and service wise, watching the staff help our younger guests dissect the massive tiger prawns was lovely.

The hotel made us feel that our wedding was the only wedding that they had done that year, it was so personal and special. It also was perfectly on budget.

Overall, our stay at Little Good Harbour was exactly what've we had hoped for. It is in a quiet location and we would definitely recommend a car to explore. The rooms were spacious and clean, and fitted out well. The Little Spa was a great treat and sensibly priced, we definitely recommend a visit.

Thank you to Graham (who even came in on his day off to say goodbye to us) and all of the staff for making it such a memorable occasion both for my wife and our guests. Simply superb.

We will be returning and we are sorry it's taken almost a year to write this review, but we really wanted to spend the time doing a review that did it justice. (Still married btw)

Room Tip: The 3 bed fort suite is stunning with it's own lovely garden.

Many thanks for your review - you really have captured exactly what we have tried to achieve.

It is great to have guests that stay with us appreciate the staff and the efforts they go to. Graham and Trevor really do do a great job.

As the saying goes - treat people the way you would expect to be treated yourself.

Many thanks again and we hope to see you again soon - Happy anniversary.

Quite simply exceptional. I don't often write a review but I'm making an exception here. To Graham, Trevor, Andrew and all the staff - Thank you. Stunning villa, flawless service, amazing location. Thank you.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, get a 3 bedroom suite. They are stunning. All of them.

We had eaten at the Fish Pot on a couple of occasions (and very much enjoyed it) and decided to give the Little Good Harbour Hotel a go. Ideally we would have liked one of the two beach side suites but as these were booked we ended up with a garden suite which is over the road from the restaurant. Road is quite busy and seems to be a bit of a favourite for racing (and therefore can be a bit noisy).
Suites are really good, nicely designed and spacious, and are pretty good value for money.
Breakfast is very expensive and pretty shambolic - lack of choice and unavailability of menu items; so most people end up preparing food in their suites.
LGH is a bit out of the way so taxis are a necessity if going out in the evening - taxis are very pricey.
A lot of mosquitos when we were there in July, which was annoying (we had not been bothered on previous trips to the Island), however it seems there were a lot about generally so this isn't a dig at LGH
Sort the breakfast, source some decent inexpensive transoprt and an excellent rating would have been made
A special mention for Trevor, the Manager - one of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met

I decided upon LGH because of it's boutique style and lack of "resort" status. I could not have been happier with this decision, because clearly unlike other reviewers, I had researched the island and the various accommodation options available.

I was staying there with my fiancée/wife (we married that week) and we loved every minute. It wasn't exactly high season (early June) but despite this the staff were attentive and friendly. We were lucky enough to secure the Fort Suite, it's a fantastic room with unbeatable views.

We had a couple of lovely dinners in the Fish Pot and breakfast most mornings. The fish was fantastic, the service friendly.

The staff at LGH and Fish Pot were particularly accommodating when it came to our wedding. They organised a wedding brunch in the hours the restaurant is usually closed. Graham and Trevor were brilliant and always ready to help out.

Like many small hotels, LGH is as good as you want it to be. If you interact with the staff and are friendly and polite, you are rewarded with the same treatment.

Thanks again to everyone there.

If you can make your way past the next sentence, you will likely enjoy The Little Good Harbour Hotel. There is a local road that transects the property with regular daytime traffic. This was the only downside to this location and the reason I cannot give it an "excellent" rating, even though this factor is out of their control.
My wife and I loved our stay here. Set in a rural area with marginal development, the hotel grounds have none-the-less been immaculately designed and cared for, so that you think you are in the middle of a lush jungle garden. The two fresh-water pools provide two experiences -- one a sheltered and shallow pool for windless sunning and a quick dip to cool off. The other is large enough to swim laps, has plenty of sunning area as well as shade and is right next to the spa. The majority of units are around these pools and far enough up the hillside that you do not hear the road noise. So, for most people, this would not be an issue. We stayed at the bungalow right on the beach, however, and so during the day there was regular noise when we tried to enjoy our grassy yard (ample space for relaxing and kids to play). The yard has a private gate out to the beach which is so close to the unit that at high tide you could almost jump through the bedroom window into the water. There is also a barbecue in the yard.
What is the measure, though, of a good location to stay is the service you get when things go wrong. Our air conditioner got plugged up and was leaking water all over the master bedroom. I reported it the next morning and they contacted their off-site technician immediately. By early afternoon, the unit had been repaired and worked perfectly for the rest of the week. Also, we had a power cut one evening while at dinner. When we returned to our unit we had no lights. The security person took care of it immediately, and the restaurant provided a complimentary drink while we waited.
All personnel, from Graham, the manager on down were friendly and helpful and appeared to be happy we were there. This would be classed as a stress-free week, by any measure.

Room Tip: Up the hill will be quieter (except the tree frogs). The bungalow, with 3 bedrooms, is great for la...

We took an impromtu trip to Barbados last week (June) and we stayed at the Little Good Harbour Hotel. What a perfect spot. My husband and I were exhausted after a long winter and everyone was simply wonderful to us. We were picked up at the airport by Victor Babb, who greeted us so warmly and just took over everything. After a 45 minute trip up the West coast we arrived very late at the Little Good Harbour. It couldn't have been more welcoming. We stayed in the beautiful cottage (approx 2000 sq ft) on the ocean and fell asleep with the sounds of the waves. The next morning we discovered the rest of the house and the beautiful terrace and garden. Ideally the house is perfect for a family of friends, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The ocean is just a few steps outside the garden. While there we actually did some cooking, shopping at Jordans in Speightstown or we just ate at the Fish Pot. We had Victor take us up to the North Coast, ragged and beautiful, to St. Nicholas Abbey and we also went over to the East Coast to Bathsheba. Highly recommed both side trips. We didn't want a lot of activity or nightlife so we didn't go too far afield. Everyone at the hotel and restaurant couldn't have been nicer and did everything they could to make sure we were taken care of. Trevor, in particular was tremendous from our first contact and it felt as if we were coming home by the time we had arrived. It really is a jewel and the weather was sensational, with lovely cool winds, even in June. We know we will definitely return. I am only sorry we didn't get to meet the owner, who we think was at the sister hotel The Atlantis on the east coast, but perhaps the next time.

If you are arriving Barbados via air, settle in for a warm 45 minute ride to the hotel, located on the northwest part of the island. Taxi drivers are usually friendly and more than anxious to point out items of interest along the way. Once at Little Good Harbour, we were greeted by name as soon as we stepped out of the taxi. Impressive—which might be the key word of this review. The hotel isn’t located near a lot of stores, which is good and bad. If you need something and don’t have a car, then bus or taxi are your options. The only restaurant nearby happens to be the hotel restaurant, and arguably has some of the best food in those parts. While the food was impressive, the service was ‘leisurely’ by Barbados standards, and down right slow by American standards. Don’t go there if you’re in a hurry. Oh wait, there are no other convenient options!
The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The beach is relatively quiet with many places to catch rays or just play in the water. There are a few large stone reefs not far from the beach that sometimes provide beautiful pictures, sound effects and scenery as the waves crash over. The water here is normally fairly calm. Beach local vendors won’t bother you here, in fact we didn’t see the first one.
We stayed in a 2 level suite with the living room/kitchen on the first level, and bedroom/bathroom on level 2. It was very nicely appointed and convenient except for having to up and down stairs with 3 twists to reach your destination.
Overall, if you are looking for a quiet getaway, I believe you’ll find Little Good Harbour – impressive.
