We loved our stay here where the staff could not be more helpful. The house is bright and clean and serves truly excellent food. Taroudant itself does not have much to offer by way of eating out especially if you are vegetarian as we are. La Maison Anglaise turned out to be far the best place to eat and we also took the chance to learn from the cooks who offer cookery lessons and freshly ground spices to buy.
All the staff seemed to have a vast amount of knowledge about some facet of local life - food, wildlife, history, botany - which really added to the trips we made. We visited some Berber villages with one staff member who had come from there, visited an argan cooperative and tried to shell nuts ( and failed), had a trip out to an oasis and ate our picnic with the wild tortoises crawling past and spent day in the market with a shoe maker and made our own sandals. They will also organise walks of varying degrees of difficulty up into the hills
The house is an easy walk from the centre of town and has an arrangement with a local hotel to use their pool which is also one of the few places you can buy alcohol.More
