Room weren't clean, with damp patch and close stink. The dinner wasn't good and the owner wasn't kind
The rooms feel like you have been catpulted back in the seventies, not updated in any way, some rooms have no hot water, the food is poor and the manager uses the evneing to dementrate her 'altruism' is a very poor and degrading way. The trip with the 4x4 into the Kalahari was nice.
first place we stayed at during our tour. To start out with the positives, the sundowner game drive was definitely memorable and probably the best thing re: the hotel. other than that, the rooms were very motel-6 type of rooms, my room's air con (even when on) still meant above 30 celsius heat (my driver/guide plus several other hotel staff came to check the a/c, but all concluded that that it was working fine) dinner was not very good, it had variety (deep fried samosas & egg rolls & etc) I 've realized during this trip that the best food (in Namibia) usually were the simple stuff (ie potatos & steak) at Auob Lodge the food/ dinner was quite below average, considering the improved quality of food encountered elsewhere during the trip, plus the lack of working air con (I thought I was going to get sick from the heat), this turned out to be one of the worst places in Namib (again, except for the excellent game drive)
