The evaluation of vanderluyden can only be a misunderstanding. I previously spent four times in this beautiful hotel. The last time from the 19th till the 22nd of July 2012. At that occasion my boyfriend and me slept in one of the suites. We were not disappointed at all. From my point of view the suites are very comfortable appointed, clean and modern with a beautiful view over the Rosengarten and Latemar. The food was excellent. There was freshly baked bread from a stone oven, not to mention that the buffet was freshly refilled at all times.

In my opinion the wellness hotel deserves four stars. I can recommend it to 100 percent!!!

One of the best hotels we visited so far. The hotel is located in a picturesque landsacape and offers all you need for a perfect hiking and wellness holiday. The cuisine is outstanding and the service excellent. Wonderful designed room and spacious beauty-wellness area. Definitely not the last time we visited this wonderful place. I can only recommend it!!!

If a 4 stars Hotel ranking existed like in soccer championship, this one would stand around the middle of it. With no any danger of downgrading and either any chance of scoring along the first positions. The location is wonderful, at the top of a sunny hill not far from the center of the village; the SPA/Wellness is up to task generally; the cuisine is rooted in a very good school, although its marked creativeness forbids to it being fully tuned to the territory like many times stated in the menu; owners and personnel are willing in making comfortable the staying, even through a flexible approach when necessary; to appreciate the ¾ pension formula quite well executed here.
On the other hand the rooms are impersonal, or “minimalistic” just to use this term, with essential furniture and no elegance at all (this is the most important weak point); common parts the same; modern the bathrooms but ad hoc kits almost non existent; service in the room doesn’t forecast any evening tidy up like in other hotels do; waiting time in the restaurant is sometime excessive (no maitre is there); swimming pool is old, small and sleazy; a bit better gym.
Just a last advice: pay attention about dealt credit cards. Not all are managed.

Stayed one night on our way to Austria. We booked a suite but the room had sloping ceiling and it was hard even to have a shower. An overall scruffy and torn feeling, dating back to the eighties, from the elevator to the carpeting and the small bathrooms. Beautiful view from the window but that's it. Dinner was an unpleasant surprise: the salad buffet was not replenished and it was poor in presentation and content.

The raving reviews about excellence were probably about another hotel or another management or a parallel world.

Bread was stale, cheese covered in flies (which are everywhere ) and the caneloni and involtini pre cooked and heated making them lack both in texture and flavor. I ended up eating only dessert which was just edible.

We weren't given any tour of the hotel (which other guests were offered) neither were we shown to our room upon arrival. We couldn't wait to leave this place. Again area nice, close to a tiny village.

Price too steep for lousy decor, poor food and average service. With the same price you can get FAR better experience almost anywhere. We are still wondering why the four stars. Maybe twenty-five years ago, now we feel it is overrated and overpriced a two star and a half at best for everything.

One last piece if advice, go only if you love dogs:they take big and small so there were many wandering around.

The Pfösl strives for perfection.
The modern design of the interior, the ever-pleasant and efficient service by all staff, the variety in the menus, the general atmosphere of helpfulness, the big and airy rooms.
The hotel is within 15 minutes by car or skibus from the Latemar ski-area. The village of Deutschnofen just down the road is pleasant.
The area as such is ideal for making long walks. The hotel gives you all the advice necessary and all equipment (maps, rucksacks, walking sticks). The area is high up but wide and gives wonderful views. One doesn't feel hemmed in by steep slopes.
The nearby road produces some, and incidental, traffic noise, but the more quiet rooms on the south/southwest side are very pleasant. The location of the hotel, and the views from it, make up for this really minor drawback.
The food is excellent. Prices are steep, but you get value for it. Modern elegance, high cuisine, great hospitality, peace and quiet, great nature and sports possibilities.

Very high standard both for SPA and restaurant into a beautiful site. The atmosphere is like your home but in luxury contest.
Sun, snow, ski, for all the family and any confirt yuo can image. Rooms are very nice and extremely cleared. After your ski day you can recharge yourself with delicious buffet. If you need quite and relax also for a long weekend, this is the best place I never founded in the world.
Have a nice time in Pfoesl , have the wonderst life !

We stayed at the Hotel Pfoesl for 5 nights and they were absolutely wonderful. The scenery is amazing and there was a lovely local slope 5 minutes walk from the hotel (with a cosy and friendly bar across the street from the slope). The slope was also fantastic because there was literally no one else on it for most of the day! The only problem for us was that the slope only rents skiis and we went to snowboard but there is a rental shop in nova ponente (about 5 minutes drive away).

The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony even in the standard room (although at 5' 10" my feet did hit the footboard repeatedly throughout the night). The hotel is beautifully decorated and the wellness centre is fantastic (pool, saunas, steam room, meditation room etc.) - just know that co-ed nudity is the norm. Our price included a lavish breakfast, afternoon tea and an immense 5-course dinner. The dinner was almost too much to eat but delicious! And they were happy to substitute courses as well.

The only negative that I can think of is that they keep the hotel rather warm - so sweaters are definitely not necessary at dinner or at the bar!! The hotel spa also had wonderful massages and treatments (although at usual spa rates so I could not take as much advantage of this as I would have liked!!).

I can not recommend this hotel too highly! It really was a fantastic experience!
