Where to start? Before reading further, I can share with you that our time at Salt of Palmar has been spendid! I will try not to do "spoilers" so that you have a chance to experience it all! Here we go for my short review: As soon as you step into the property, you realise that it is not your traditional luxury beach resort. The first thing you will notice is that there is no ostentatious reception desk. Instead, you have a magnificent view on the large infinity pool which extends to the turquoise colours of the ocean. You can therefore check-in anywhere you wish (even on the beach if that suits you!). Mélanie was our host and invited us to sit for a welcome drink (which was absolutely delicious by the way) and a session of "transformation" in which she was able to set the scene for us i.e. she explained the concept of the hotel. What you need to keep in mind is that eco-consciousness is at the heart of this place and a lot of effort is put to achieve this. Actually, you will witness it in everything you will see, touch and smell throughout the property. An example from the restaurant is the menu, which comes in sets of small, medium and large in an attempt to prevent food wastage! The food by the way is absolutely delicious and the different types of freshly baked bread was a very nice surprise. The staff throughout the hotel is extremely friendly and puts you at ease immediately. You will suddenly feel that there is no barrier between you and them. We loved it! The overall atmosphere is relaxing and you can unwind on the sun loungers or beds set along the rather large pool or take a stroll on the beach. You will feel at home at the main restaurant and the 3 bars (especially the roof top bar with an amazing sea view). We simply loved the fact that you get water (still or sparkling) from a tap/fountain and decide where you want to have lunch - just grab a chair at one of the tables on the deck on the beach, at the restaurant or near the bar. The rooms are beautifully designed with notes of bright colours to boost up your mood and amenities, which will remind of the eco-consciousness of the hotel. The Best on Beach has got lovely views of the ocean, the beach and the whole bay. One of the highlights of this room was the balcony and the terrace where you can soak up the sun all day in full privacy. We had the opportunity to meet Raj, the General Manager of the resort, who further explained the concept and vision of the hotel. It is very interesting to hear about the work put to come up with such a unique concept. All in all, we were truly and pleasantly surprised by this resort. We did not want to leave and we are now looking forward to visit again. To Raj and his team, do keep up the good work!
