Just back from 10 days in Cape Panwa and have to say that everything about this hotel is excellent. Friendly welcoming staff, beautiful pool and beach. We came back to our room every evening to fresh flowers.
The bars and restaurants offer something for every taste.
Want your nails done go no further than Sabai half way down the hill. My partner spent 2 hours having pedicure and intricately hand painted nails all for 600 Baht (£12.00).
Great local food a little nearer the hotel try Sabai Sabai which offers stunning views and beautiful fresh local food at very reasonable prices.

We purchased a three day package for this resort with "Each voucher [being] valid for two people including three nights' accommodation with guaranteed upgrade to a Cape Suite; daily breakfast; free half-day Coral Island cruise for two and 50% off a la carte spa treatments OR one 60-minute Thai massage per person, per stay; one free welcome drink voucher (beer, soft drink or house wine) per person per stay; and late checkout to 2pm". When we phoned to organise our massage (with 24 hours notice) we were told that the resort only had two masseuse and that we could not get a massage for the next three days. We then informed staff at the desk on three occasions that we were disappointed that we had purchased a package and that the resort was not fulfilling its contractual obligation. We would have been happy for the resort to provide something else - such as money off of our food bill. It was doubling disappointing for us as we had purchased two rooms for our family and my children had been looking forward to this special treat. We did not create a great fuss at the resort, but the whole experience soured our stay and this has been our lasting memory of what otherwise would have been a wonderful family holiday. My advice to those that have problems at this resort is that the front line management staff are unable to make descisions to solve problems and you will need to be loud and obnoxious to be heard. As for us - after living in Asia for six years and travelling to Thailand nearly every year - this is the first time we have walked away from a hotel in Thailand saying we will not return.

Room Tip: We had an upgrade to a jacuzzi room but with the heat remained in the pool. We didn't use the j...

We at the Cape Panwa Hotel thank you for your review of our property. Although we share your disappointment with not being able to experience our spa treatment, after speaking with the staff it was determined that the spa had been booked solid for 3 days straight, and you attempted to book 4 spots on your last day before check out (the only day available, unfortunately). We feel that since you had a narrow window of time, you believed that trying to book 4 spots simultaneously would have saved you time. Unfortunately, our facilities only accommodate 2 people at a time. We feel that had you opted to go 2 at a time, we could have accommodated your family and left you with enough time to meet your check out time.
We would like to apologies for the confusion surrounding this unfortunate event, and if there is anything further that you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me personally at gm@capepanwa.com. Thank you again for writing your review. We hope to have an opportunity to see and serve you again soon.

Spent a week here again in a junior suite. Fantastic accommodation, appears relatively new. Biggest bed ever slept in and the view was wonderful to wake up to ever morning. All facilities on the complex well maintained, the vehicular down to the beach was great. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of traditional fare. The fresh fruit station was a welcome addition. Whilst the Spa was more expensive than surrounding ones, it was a wonderful experience and the staff were very well trained. All in all would recommend for a couple looking for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Junior suites in T block were excellent. Do have to climb some steps and a little way from breakfast...

Just got back from 7 Days at The Cape Panwa Hotel, and it was great, we upgraded to the Cape Suite and would definitely recommend other people do the same, the rooms were very spacious and everything worked. Dont stay here if you want the hussle and bussle, of which we didnt, its only a 30 min cab ride anyway. The staff were exemplary and could not do enough for you, the buffet breakfast was to die for.....The beach was fantastic loads of sunbeds. I will be recommending this hotel to other people.... Fantastic and thank you.

Room Tip: Choose the Cape Suite

This was our third visit to the Cape Panwa hotel and we liked it as much now as we did on our first visit!! We are now planning our next visit in 2015!! I am not sure why I haven't thought to do a review before now as we tell everyone to visit here!!

There is nothing better than being picked up by the shuttle at the airport after a day of travelling by a person with a huge smile and then arriving at the hotel to even more smiles, sincere welcomes and a refreshing cool cloth and fruit drink!!

We booked 10 nights in a Cape suite and it was great!! Huge king size bed in a large room with lounge, coffee table, TV that could be viewed from the couch or the bed, a lovely bathroom with shower and tub, a wonderful balcony where you could see the hotel pier and the beach, a spa bath that was fun to use in the rain storm we had during our stay!!

Our room was serviced daily and a big thank you to Pinyo who cleaned our room and was always smiling and happy to have a chat.

We booked breakfast with our room and there was not a morning we were disappointed with the selection being offered. The staff were always there refilling tea and coffee, clearing plates and welcoming everyone as they came in.

Daily we made use of the shuttle that runs every 20 minutes from the hotel to bay where there is a store, coffee shop and numerous places to eat. You can also make use of atms, cash exchange, book tours, get taxis, visit the Phuket aquarium or just walk along the waterfront. There are also on most nights food stalls and small market stalls where you can buy bits and pieces.

The hotel has a wonderful spa 'Cape Spa" where you can go and have any type of treatment you can think of!! We had aroma massages here and they were wonderful!! Just make sure you book early in the day or the day before to get a spot as they get quite busy. But don't worry if you can't get in here as there are at least a dozen other places over the hill where you can get massages. Our favourite place outside of the hotel to get a massages was "Diva".

On our visit this time we had the opportunity to take part in the Thai cooking class offered by the hotel we had such a great time!! My husband and I cooked a wonderful 3 course meal and it was really interesting talking to the chef about some of the differences in the herbs they use. A huge thank you to Chef Kan who took time out of his day to help teach us some delicious dishes!!

While staying at the hotel we also used the shuttles they offer to go into Patong Beach and Central Festival Shopping Centre they also have shuttles that will take you into Phuket village. You can also get the reception staff to book you a taxi to the weekend night markets which are worth a visit. We took advantage of hiring a car with driver for 3 hours and it took us where ever we wanted to go!! Which was great as we headed up to the big Budha and over to Kata beach for a look.

It sounds like we did a lot on our trip but really we spent most mornings down by the beach and using the pool that they also have down there. They have a very handy cable car that runs up and down to the beach as required, we usually were down there before it started for the day so to get a little exercise we walked down to the beach and caught the car back up!! There are plenty of beach chairs and towels to use and friendly staff who will bring you drinks as you bathe in the sun!!

While on holidays we don't tend to use hotel restaurants and prefer to eat out which we did this time as well. There are a number of places near by that are excellent and I have written reviews for them already. However this visit we did make use of the restaurant for afternoon teas and had one evening meal which was delicious!!!

Cape Panwa is a place where you can go to relax and not stress about what is going on in the world. If you want to go to a place where you are tripping over staff, want constant attention and want to be in the centre of all the action go somewhere else!!

At Cape Panwa the staff are always friendly and will help with whatever you need (thanks Tim Laven). And sometimes it takes a little longer to get a drink you may have ordered but it does come and it is cold!!

I would recommend to anyone a visit to Cape Panwa and we can't wait to go back!!

The cape panwa hotel exceeded mine and my partners expectations. We were greeted by happy faces and our suitcases were taken to our rooms. We were shown the layout of the hotel and to our room by a young lady named Korakot who was always smiling and willing to help. The hotel rooms are cleaned everyday and you are given complimentary bottles of water everyday day. The housekeep staffing were outstanding and on one occasion she had put my wet bikini and towel out to dry which was extremely thoughtful.

The breakfast was AMAZING!! The omelettes are delicious and there is a wide range of food to cater for everyone. The fruit juices were also very nice and the hotel staff were always around to top up your coffee/tea.

The hotel also has a range of restaurants. Our favourite was 'Cafe andaman'. A staff member named along the lines of 'Thom....' (i didn't have my glasses on lol) was always friendly and hardworking. The thai green curry was the best i have ever had and was so tasty. The steak was also amazing here and the pasta dishes as well as burgers and sandwiches. The food at the hotel is inexpensive considering the amazing quality of food compared to the UK. Cocktails were also amazing here. The chocolate and mint mouse dessert is amazing also!

The swimming pool area was lovely although some hotel guests would attempt to reserve sun beds by leaving their towels on them and then they would disappear for a while and come back which is unfair on other guests. They would return to their towels in the tree as my partner did not agree hehe . However this is not a fault of the hotel.

The beach was absolutely outstanding. There was always sun beds available and kayaking was free(even if you do capsized hehehe). The corals in the water were annoying but nothing worth crying about as other reviews have. The beach bar sells cocktails and coconuts which are perfect. The water is a beautiful shade and the sand is so fine. You can also see little almost transparent crabs on the beach. There is a pool on the beach however we did not use this.

The hotel offers free wifi in public places including the pool and the beach which is rare. All you need to do is get a code from the reception daily.

The hotel has a shuttle bus which takes you down the hill to shops near kantary bay. I would highly recommend cafe kantary as it had amazing iced coffees, ice-cream and cheap ham and cheese toasties for only 60 baht! Next to the cafe is a small supermarket which sells all essentials.

The hotel also offers daily taxis to patong, phuket town and central festival for around 200baht.
The taxi to patong was at half 7 and left around half 11. Patong was extremely busy and stall owner tend to pester you which became abit annoying particularly because it was so humid! The coffee shop on bangla road served amazing food and drink. Patong is definitely for those who prefer wild nighlife.

Phuket town weekend market was exactly what we wanted and how we imagined. It had everything from knockoff goods to authentic thai clothing. It had a good atmosphere.

Central festival was similar to any shopping centre and had a kfc, mcdonalds and starbucks etc.

while in phuket you must go on the phi phi island boat trip it was amazing. Also elephant trekking.

We will definitely be back as Cape panwa was perfect!

This hotel was probably at its best around a decade ago. It's good. The pool is nice, the beach is lovely, the food and drinks are good...
It has lots of friendly staff, but they are quite ineffective. You have to wait an age for service and then it takes time. It took me 20 mins to check out at 4am with 2 members of staff all to myself!
The water is warm, the food spicy and the beer cold, so i would go again, but the staff need to be a little more attentive.

Room Tip: get higher up for a better chance of a sea view as the banana trees are tall!
