The hotel itself is excellent, the staff is excellent, but I just underestimated how far it was from everything else. If you plan on spending your entire time here then it would be an excellent choice but we were constantly going out to places like Patong Beach, Phi Phi Island, Phang Nga Bay and it was just too much of a distance. It's really far from the airport as well. Had some issues with the electrical outlets too, they were finicky with charging my gadgets.

Bottom line: stay here if you want a secluded 5 star resort but if you plan to go out frequently you may want to choose another location.

Husband and I had a wonderful time in Phuket with Amatara Wellness Resort. The location is perfect for those who own a car, infinite pool with panoramic sea views, friendly staffs who takes care of all our needs. My husband got sick during the stay and one of the staff arranged medicine and thermometer for us. Parry at The Restaurant offered a pot of fresh ginger water during breakfast every morning, also Fin at the front desk was nice taking care of all our needs. We highly recommend this resort to all our friends and surely will be back to stay the next time to Phuket.

One thing needs to be improved is room dining service, I ordered a seafood noodle which with so many black peeled off material from the wok. After reported, the staff apologized and sent a fruit platter. But to be honesty, it is unacceptable for a 5 star resort!

Staying here 2 nights at a pool pavilion overlooking the sea. The view from our room is very good although not perfect since the roof of the villa below us partially blocks it but it's quite good compared to the pool pavilion next to us which has the trees blocking the whole view. The room itself is of a decent size for two people with a very large bathroom. The furnishing is on the upscale side. I would suggest adding a speaker so we can connect our phone to play music. The room comes free with a daily minibar with a limited selection of juice boxes, soda and dried fruit snacks.
The private pool itself is quite good. More of a plunge pool than a swimming pool and perfect for chilling and watching the evening sky.

The breakfast consists of both buffet and a few a la cartes. Breakfast selections are actually not as good as the resorts in the same class I've stayed previously but it's still pretty good. The private beach is just ok here but the resort provides free kayak or paddleboards which I did try and enjoy. I also did get the massage at the spa. It's pricey but it's one of the best massage I have had and I have had tons of massages.

Overall, it's a pretty solid and upscale resorts. Given the high price, there are a few areas that can make this resort even better. It was a happy stay for us a total R&R. I'll definitely return.

Room tip: Pick the room that faces the sea side not the bay side.

Beautiful experience had at Amatara wellness resort. The staff are not only very friendly and eager to assist but go above and beyond in caring for your needs. Would strongly suggest eating at the Grill, food and service was exceptional and the passion fruit sorbet was too delicious for words. Special mention to head chef ‘Andy’ whose time taken with the diners is greatly appreciated. Clearly good teamwork occurring in the kitchen! Thank you to all and I will be back.

Amatara was the first resort we stayed at in Thailand. We went on our honeymoon. The place is absolutely beautiful! As soon as we arrived we received a worm welcome and our room was upgraded as a gesture for our honeymoon. The breakfast and the restaurat were absolutly delicious and special. We had a wonderful time! Thank you!
