Ok - firstly a few tips on getting around in Phuket or indeed Thailand. We should always get the metered taxi. We arrived at airport and went straight to the metered taxi on the right of the airport. There is usually a small wait depending on the time of day but it should cost around THB350 + 100 airport surcharge. We decided to tip the driver and paid THB500. This is still significantly lower than non-metered taxi. The trip took about 30mins.

Now, upon arrival to hotel, the staff carried our luggage from the taxi and all we need to do was talk to the sofa chair at the loddy and the reception stuff came over to check in for us. The check in process is a lot smoother than other hotels I've been to, such as name, home address, passport number and all that were all done by the staff. We were presented with a welcome drink which was much needed after arriving from the airport - so good stuff.

We booked the Junior suite which is like twice the room of a normal room. The bathroom was massive. The room was clean and tidy as expected.

We then went for a quick meal at Aqua. The price is reasonable but I guess it's slightly higher than normal Thai food outside of the hotel. We paid around THB280 for a pad thai which is the same as what we would have to paid in Australia.

The food is very fresh. The breakfast was of traditional thai standard - ie. a lot better than most other countries that I've travelled to.

There is a free shuttle bus to town central. However, only twice a day. Bus to Patong beach costs THB350.

I think others comments are right about the beach - not the best in Phuket but the swimming pool makes up for it as it is not chroined so you can stay for a little while. There is also sea kayak that you can do on the beach.

Because the occupancy is not high, the beach sofas are always available and any activities have to be ordered in advance and call again when the time comes.

The hotel is pretty spanking new and is comfortable enough for lazing around the pool -- there are a number of them and all well situated, big and nice, esp the covered platforms - though our room unlike our neighbors lacked direct access to the pool just outside. Otherwise, the back patio was a nice feature. Staff pretty accommodating - request for late checkout was readily granted for one and the crib provided was nice.

Still, there are things that could be improved. Lights along a stretch of the walkway to our room were out and it was too dark but slightly improved after a couple requests for fixing.... Staff were too invisible around the 'landside' pool in particular, so guests had to get towels from the gym and otherwise see to needs themselves (didn't seem too much better at the bigger 'seaside' pool)... Mosquitos bit too present in room though didn't seem to bite too much.... Bit better arrangement for storing luggage in room would help as well.

The bay is scenic but not Phuket's best, given the cargo ships and refinery and such that are part of the view.... and that beach that can't be used for swimming (on first visit, there was a lot of trash, but it was surprisingly cleaned up the next day, though still too shallow for anyone to swim).

We recently stayed 9 nights at the Radisson Phuket in Panwa Cape and did not regret our choice
The brand new resort has got all the up to date facilities = private beach with direct acces, free internet acces, choice of restaurant and quiet, chic atmosphere far away from the crowded west coast !
Like all over Thailand, very nice staff maked our stay as pleasant as possible
We should not recommend this adress for people looking for night life and shopping : but you can book a car in order to reach Phuket Town and its shopping centers -10minutes drive- and Karon/Kata for night life -20 minutes drive-

We stayed 6 nights over Christmas and found this hotel being a real gem. We enjoyed the perfect service, ambience and the beautiful pool areas. We were upgraded to a large deluxe see view room that was very nice with a large bathroom. Only oddity was the lack of holder for soap and shampoo in the large shower, so you had to keep them on the floor.

We dined at the Aqua restaurant and it was very good both times we ate there. We also had Christmas dinner at the Azur restaurant that included a 5 course set menu including a bottle of wine. The dinner was really worth the relatively high prize and I can still remember one of the appetizers “Tiger Prawns with lemon flavoured olive oil” and the main course Tournedos Rossini as some of the best dishes I ever had. Breakfast was nicely displayed and included most of the food you expect of a five star hotel.

Overall, the hotel is very tastefully decorated and the pool areas never over-crowded. Me and my wife were often the only 2 people in one of the pools and there were always plenty of sun-beds with fresh towels. As mentioned by others the beach is good for sun-bathing, but not really for swimming.

There is not much around the hotel apart from a “7-11”, a Pharmacy with a tour office and a restaurant across the street from the hotel. We tried the restaurant one evening and it was cheep but hardly worth the money.

Not much else around the hotel, but you can walk to the Phuket Aquarium in 20 min and it is worth a visit.

I can really recommend this hotel if you are looking for relaxation with good service and food.

We stayed at the Radisson Phuket the week between Christmas and New Years and had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful and we especially loved the pool. The rooms were large and nicely furnished and all the staff were very friendly and eager to help whenever possible.

The beach is nice but at low tide there really is no swim area - the tide goes out a long, long way. The pool is fantastic and the views from the edge of the infinity pool(s) were fabulous. We also loved the swim-up bar.

As many have mentioned, this isn't the place to go for lots of night-life activity, but it is a perfect place to go to relax and recharge. Even though we were there at one of the busiest seasons, the resort never felt crowded. There were plenty of loungers at the pool and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Breakfast was good - one morning my 20 year old son expressed disappointment that there were no waffles. The next morning within a few minutes of when we sat down, the executive chef hand delivered a plate of waffles to him. He was very happy!

Other meals at Aqua were good, but I could have used more variety in the selections. We ate at Azur one night and thought it was excellent. It was a little pricey to eat there more than once during our stay, but it was a delicious splurge.

Having free internet in the room was a definite plus.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet relaxing vacation.

We started our Round the World trip in Phuket, to relax and get used to the hot weather.
Had found the hotel online, and after reading the reviews from TripAdvisor, we decided to try it out. The hotel is so new that the Taxi Service personnel at Phuket Airport hadnt
even heard of it. After a quick call to the hotel we got a driver who had been there once before. Cost around 750 THB one way in a very comfo sedan. Takes about 50 minutes.

The resort is great, rooms are of good size and the views from your balcony is soothing for a overworked soul. As it is a new hotel not many people have found it yet, and we almost had the resort to ourselves.

Food is great and the staff even knew how to made a decent Mojito.

If you're in Phuket for party and action, I dont feel this is the place for you, as locationwise is abit in the middle of nowhere, but if you just want to relax, enjoy good food, lounging by the pool and that sort of vacation, it is great.

Enjoy!!!

Jorgen and Lars
