Just got back on Thursday were do you start, 5 star all the way from the facilities to the staff nothing is to much trouble.
This resort is a little out of the way 15min to Phuket Town plenty to do there, markets and food found this to be the best shopping in the main market same products as Patong cheaper and without the hassling shop keepers.
And 30min to Patong but if you want a safe environment for you and children and plenty of local restaurants and massages (Mooks Massage) just outside the front gates you just got to ask for Kook she is the best 1hr 300 Baht.
Just a short 10 min walk to Sawadee restaurant, turn left out the front gate it's fantastic good value highly recommend , the other top spot was the Ship Inn about 5min by taxi (baht).
Now as for the restaurants in the resort, lets start with breakfast to die for what ever you eat they have it, and dinner was just as good, try the soft shell crab, I'm addicted.
Great little convenience store also across the road, also I hired a motor scooter (baht) a day as this is quite traffic wise and there are plenty of back streets to explore.
Last but not lease a big thanks to Wachira and her team for making this a very special trip.

Regards

Peter

Hi. We are into our 7th day at the Radisson starting at 7 Sept 2012 and will be leaving after another 7 more days. Our holiday is a holiday away from our earthquake damage property in Christchurch New Zealand, to give you an idea of our 14 days away. Our house is the last one in our street to survive, but still awaiting a full inspection (2 years after the first earthquake). One side of the street never to be built on again.

So I used tripadvisor to find a quiet location, with a good swimming pool. Can confirm previous good comments other reviewers. Our room a quiet Deluxe room ( no sea or pool views ) but a private partially enclosed verandah. Spacious bedroom super king bed and 32cm Samsung TV
About 30 TV channels provided.... Some English.

Good sized bathroom with shower and bath, separate toilet. safe and fridge provided.

Yes. Radisson is away from the shops, but hotel provides free shuttle drop off and pickup to Central Festival shopping mall. Also to Phuket Town. Distance from Hotel to Mall approx 20 minutes drive. Cost if you want to taxi.... Barter down from 700 they wanted to 400bht.

To go across to Patong from hotel the hotel provide a shuttle for 350bht per person leaving at 7pm and pickup 11pm.
Cheaper to get a taxi across the road from hotel, they want 700 BHT.

For us we got a taxi from Phuket town across to Patong for 600bht. They day we did this trip it was pouring with rain so just wanted to stay inside the shops/markets. Jungcelyon shopping centre in Patong filled the day in for us along with the markets.

Market price for a " Polo top shirt " they want 650 but you get them for 200bht and I suspect even 150 BHT if you more than 5.
We intended on staying on and seeing the night life but too wet. taxi back from Patong to Radisson 500bht.

While I write this it is pouring with rain, but it is the wet season and still nice and warm. Two days of rain out of 7 not bad, usually rains in the late evening.

Tip: Bring a washing line as they only provide a rack to hang wet washing.

Also if you bring in duty free alcohol make sure they seal it in a bag. So if you transit thru like we did from NZ to Bangkok then onto Phuket. the alcohol you purchased in NZ does not go on from Bangkok unless sealed in the bag. We advised duty free our final destination and they knew the rules.

Finally if you want a quiet time away from the " ping pong / candle shows " massages and booze barns in Patong I can recommend the Raddison.

Roll on the next 7 days.

Room Tip: Complex busy but never a problem with swimming pool loungers. No bad rooms. Although no sea view f...

My partner and I stayed at the Radisson Blue Plaza over Easter this year (I meant to write this review much sooner) and we were more then impressed. We stayed from 5th April-13th April in a double delux sea view room. It was amazing, great size, great views, huge shower, quiet, comfy king size bed, great deck, safe, fridge, tv with DVD player for the rainy day. It had everything we could have asked for.
Yes, as everyone has mentioned it is about 40minutes out from the hustle and bustle of patong but we didnt mind, we were in for a relaxing holiday and thats exactly what we got!
Both of the pools were amazing, we never really had an issue getting sun beds and it never felt over crowded. We swam in the sea some mornings which was so refreshing!
Prehaps, a point I should of made at the start, THE STAFF were incredibly friendly, helpful and always had a smile on their faces. We were staying right when a Tsunami warning happened, whilst the locals in the nearby shops and streets were frantic the hotel staff remained clam, reassuring guests everything was ok. The even arranged a screen in the lobby with news playing so we could keep updated as to what exactly was happening.
Before we left Australia, I had booked both of us into the Talay Spa for a massage the night we arraived. We had the Deep Blue Massage and it was exactly what we needed after the flight and set a good start to the holiday.
We ate breakfast at the hotel everymorning which always and had a nice selection and a couple of times we dined in the hotel which was always ok. Majority of the time we ate at the nearby restaurants. My recommendations would have to be curry night, which is directly opposite the hotel. It was possibly the best Inidian food we have ever eaten. The staff were great! All the other restaurant down near the port were quite good also & cheap!
We booked a couple of tours, taxi & scooter hire from the friendly lady and man over at the chemist. They were a great help and always had taxi's ready at the time we wanted.
After gaining the courage about 5 days in we hired a scooter from them and went sight seeing for the day. This was probably one of the best days we had as we really got to experience the Thai culture. We headed up to see the Big Buddha & stopped off to ride the elephants on the hill up to the Big Buddha.
We caught taxi's into Patong one afternoon/evening and another day. It was great to experience the markets, night life etc but it was great to beable to escape the mayhem and head back to Cape Panwa.
This is just a sample, there is so much more that we did, like I said I should have written this soon. All in all, I would have no hesitations in recommending the Radisson Blue to anyone. Our aim was to have a relaxing holiday, lazing around in the sun. We certanily acheived this and more.
Thanks Radisson Ble for making our first trip to Thailand so very enjoyable. We will definatly be back.

My partner & I stayed here for 6 nights in early August 2012. This was our 1st venture overseas & we loved it. On arrival early Sunday morning we were ushered to a seating area & given a cold towel & refreshing icy cold drink. Our room was ready & the Duty Manager walked us to our room & made sure we were happy with it. We had a Deluxe Seaview Room which had a fabulous view. There were renovations happening but the disturbance was minimized as much as possible. The last 3 nights we were upgraded to a Seaview Pool Villa, wow-amazing. We did not use the main pools again. It was so peaceful & serene, just magical. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble & we had a few chats & jokes when we sat & had a couple of drinks at happy hour. The restaurants in the area had lovely food & very cheap. We would not hesitate to stay here again. The only down side was leaving after 6 dys to stay at Karon Beach which I could have easily given a miss & returned to Cape Panwa!

I've spent three nights at the Radisson Phuket August 25th-27th of 2012.
My overall experience was positive.
The staff is very friendly and they do make a great effort to accommodate.
The resort itself is very well maintained, clean and simply comforting.
Room service - not easy to get your ordered filled properly but you learn to adapt (be very careful because they would always try to maximize your orders).
Taxi service is very expensive at the hotel though the shuttle services to the airport and center are reasonably priced and offer greater service than the taxi across the street.
The beach is nice aside from that incredible tide that kicks in during the first part of the day so when that comes in, you enjoy the beach but not the water.
I stayed at a Sea View Jr Suite that was very nice. Very cool extras to make your visit simply relaxing and fun. One con about the room is the balcony furniture that is filled with little insects when you carefully look.
Breakfast was OK, not more than that (for example, the selection of fruit is rather disappointing, very little to choose from).
Last note - some renovation work was taking place around the pool area which was annoying however they do make a huge effort to minimize.
Overall I'd say that this Radisson a very good selection if you're looking for a quiet, isolated luxury resort.

Room Tip: Treat yourself while relaxing by the pool to the bar service. Good quality of drinks treats for a r...

There's lots to like about this place - it is quiet, some of the staff are great and the Talay Spa went way past the extra yard to fit in a massage for me. The balcony is a good size and the room air conditioning is close to the best experienced in a hotel. Beds are very good and the pillows were also very good. The Pad Khrapao at Edge is recommended. Yes, there are renovations underway but they are aware of their guests and minimise the drone of drills and saws.
Tips:
If you don't want to eat in go across the road or turn left and take a short walk to Kantary Bay.
The tailor in the complex isn't great - not bad but not great. Trouser fabric has a flaw on the front of the thigh which, of course, wasn't noticed at the time. A good cutter would never have done this.

They offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back. May be time Radisson realised they've got long way to go before making this offer without having to give most people their money back.
In the room there was dust on the louvres and venetian blinds, previous occupants spilled something on the floor that stayed there the entire time - perhaps part of the spray stain across the ceiling. They don't provide hair conditioner, nor are the towels thick and fluffy. It's hard to attract the attention of staff at breakfast and at Edge but once you've got it service isn't bad. And it is true that some of the staff's English pronounciation is truly unintelligible. Checked in by an enthusiastic lass who had lots of words - seemed a bit confounded that she wasn't clearly understood. The one that really rankled was being told late checkout was availabe to the time requested despite it being clear there wasn't full occupancy. The bit that really hurt? Being told by front desk staff they didn't know how long (and I quote) it would take to clean the mess up.
Already given them feedback - to a Duty Manager and on a feedback form (very overcooked prawns in the Pad Thai)
They're not big things but they all add up.
Would I stay here again? No, Would I recommend this place? Probably not. Will I get my money back? LOL

Hotel is about 45 minutes from the Airport depending on traffic. Keep this in mind if you are arriving early in the morning. Cape Panwa is on the southern part of Phuket - reputedly good for sailing and sea activities. However this part is far from Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island which are both in the north.
Lobby is fine - welcome drink and cold towel were a "welcome" experience. Both restaurants were OK although I preferred the one closer to the beach. Very nice swimming pool and the beach is good. If you are lucky you will see huge cruise ships sail past.
Rooms are OK but not all have views...so ask if this is important to you!
Room size is fine.
We had some activities @ "Sail In Asia" and this provided convenience due to close proximity.
Hotel is also close to Phuket Town.
The spa was great! Try it...you will not be disappointed. Ask for directions before you head there as not easy to find!
Wireless access and connectivity were disappointing. Could not log on to company network most of the time.

Room Tip: Check out rooms with view if this is important to you!
