“Best resort ive stayed at!”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

I stayed at the raddisson plaza christmas 2010 and have been meaning to write a review on this resort ever since. By far the best resort i hjave stayed at, the service was amazing especially the pool bar staff, just to name a few (sorry for the spelling)- Supakit was amazing, he always had a smile on his face and was always happy to serve us drinks and my beloved phuket pizza. Another was thamarat, again this man had oustanding customer service and people skills in general. Both these men deserve a massive pat on the back because they truely were a major part in creating an amazing resort expirience for myself and my girlfriend.
Rooms were clean and perfectly styled. We were fortunate enough to have a room directly overlooking the lower pool, which we enjoyed.
Food quality was right up there. although we didnt have the best luck with the weather, the staff and facilities made up for it.
Im an active guy and to have the staff on hand to play volleyball was nice.
Would recomend this resort to any holiday goer looking for a nice, relaxing getaway.
Management should feel good about themselves, they have a nice, well run resort on their hands.

Dear "William S"

thanks so much for your kind review and remembering us. Panwa Region is developing into a new hotspot for people who are looking for for the "old charm" of Phuket away from the hassle on the west coast. We look forward to welcome you soon back here in Phuket - keep us posted!

visited Radisson Phuket on the mid of last year. It was my perfect holiday.
Even on arrival, check-in process was a bit slow, but I got surprised that they upgraded room to us from Deluxe Garden View to Deluxe Sea View.

The room was luxurious, spacious, and comfortable. There were a big day bed in balcony, with fantastic panorama of sea and sky. Bed was big and comfy. Toilet was full equip, separate toilet, bathroom and bathtub, and plenty of towels, additionally there were music player(Thai instrumental music) in bathroom.

Breakfast was various, delicious, good serviced. Hotel beach front-swimming pools were plenty, superb, clean and well-designed, while the beach was not for swim (very shallow). We played volley ball and relaxed with Jacuzzi at pool. Particularly, I love to lay down on gazebo-bed beside the pool ;)

On the night that I stayed, We played pool and enjoyed drink at Lobby lounge. It was such a private night for us because there were no other people. Staff was friendly and good serviced. So, overall experience I’ve stayed here is fantastic. Anyway, I didn’t try spa yet, but I hope to if I have a chance.

Once we tried Chaiyo Seafood, a local seafood restaurant in Panwa. I'd recommend if u like fine seafood with cheap price.

You go to Thailand for the resorts and this resort has everything you need. Plenty of pools and desirable spaces to hang about that you never feel crowded, a tidal beach, an afternoon breeze and a modern kids club. There's not much around the resort but that was fine by me!

The general impression is very good, with trendy decor and lounge music in the lobby when you arrive. Excellent staff at reception. Quick check-in.
The rooms are beautiful, with generous proportions, separate WC/bathroom/shower. Amenities in the bathroom are in dispensers, which is not very nice, although more environmentally-friendly I guess. There is a dressing area and terrace with beautiful sea-view.
The pool area is wonderful, with canopy-beds, lounges and infinity pools.
We only had breakfast there, which was nice although not outstanding.

There are a few downsides though:
- the aircon in the rooms is very loud, I had to wear earplugs at night.
- you cannot swim in the sea most of the time, as the water is extremely shallow, even at high tide (there is a 2nd swimming pool to compensate for that).
- it is a bit isolated. There is a free shuttle to Phuket Town and Central Festival shopping centre but it only runs twice a day, which is not enough. We ended up renting motorbikes from the little agency across the street which was great and enabled us to move around as we liked.

The little shops/agencies/restaurants across the street are a good/cheaper alternative to the hotel's services.

Alltogether a very good hotel, despite the few downsides.

Room Tip: Sea view is a must.

We visited this resort during the "monsoon" period, which meant that we had one shower per day, at about 2 p.m. Which, I believe, is no big deal at all! The room we were in was screaming luxury, with it's balcony facing the sea-side, we had the unbelievable experience to see the sunrise from our own bed. It was... truly amazing! The pool was very nice, and people using it were usually well mannered. The bar "inside the pool" was a very pleasant experience - having a freshly squeezed juice while levitating in the water. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing - makes you wish you had two stomachs! A wide variety of foods, one tasting better than the other. And I must admit the same about the regular restaurant too - we ate there every day, and we were never let down by the quality and flavor of our dishes. I can sincerely recommend this place to anyone who wants to unwind from the stresses of everyday life.

Dear "OrsiJ"
thank you for the fine compliments ;-) We will share your breakfast comments with our Chefs to keep up the great work.

Let us know should you plan a trip to Phuket.

Cape Panwa is shaping up with small shops and restaurants but still remains a hideaway from the busy beaches.

Best Regards

The location of this hotel is a bit out of the way from everything else. We arrived into Phuket airport around 2am in the morning since our flight was delayed about three hours. As Cape Panwa Beach is basically at the most southeastern part of the island as it gets, we had a very difficult time bartering with the “black taxi” drivers as to how much it would be to get to our hotel. There were no normal taxi’s doing metered distances anymore, and most people were asking anywhere from 1500-2000 bhats to take us, while the information ladies outside said that the ride should only cost about 600-700 bhats. We finally found a man that agreed to do 1000bhats, as we were exhausted from traveling from ChiangMai that day we agreed. Paying 1000 bhats for a ride was cheaper than what we paid on our way from the resort to the airport, using the hotel service, they charged us 1100 bhats. I find this very unfair as we are guests and should be taken care of at a reasonable cost.
The pool was amazing and it was great to have a private Radisson beach (we went to Patong and saw the beach there, probably saw more bodies than sandy beach- wayyy to many people!). The amenities in the pool area were very nice, lawn chairs, tables, cabanas, towels. Food and drinks were quite pricy, as expected at the resort, but the wait staff was extremely nice and professional.
We had dinner at Azul, tired the t-bone steak, probably should have waited to pay for an overpriced steak until we got back to America. We asked for Med-Rare, the first one came out MedWell-Well done. The next one we got was basically bleeding all over the plate. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, it was changed up a little here and there from day to day which was nice. The only complaint I had about breakfast was the soft bacon, and it took forever to get coffee or the attention of the wait staff in general.
The night manager Geoffy was great to us as we had ordered a standard room, and with the addition of another guest he suggested we upgrade to a Junior Suite and he gave us a small discount of that as well. The room was spacious, beds were just the right hard-softness, big bathroom with an amazing tub and shower, we had a balcony, and the second night we got a desert and fruit platter delivered to our room. The first room we were in though had small red ants crawling around in one of the corners, which was coincidently the corner they placed the pull in bed at and where my sister had left all her belongs – imagine ants everywhere! Needless to say we switched rooms.
It was nice to have a little 24 hour Family Mart right across the street, and a travel booking booth right in front as well. They took good care of us, compared to those travel shops in puket town and patong. This resort is really a “resort”, if you are interested in doing activities all day, you will be the first ones picked up and the last ones off the bus – roads are windy so be careful about motion sickness. If you are interested in relaxing by the pool and walking around on a private beach, and have a nice quiet nights sleep then this place is great, also the view is amazing!

Room Tip: 3 or more people, upgrade to junior suite

Dear "ShellyK"

thank you very much for your detailed feedback! Glad you enjoyed your stay. Next time try our land side pool that is usually more quiet than the seaside pool - just an altrenative".

Also regarding the hotel-airport transfer charged at 1100net - we can state that our cars are fully insured and in great shape where as the airport limousines are not always insured as the law requires.

We do hope to welcome you soon again in not too distant future.

Bets regards from sunny Phuket

My husband and i have visited several islands inThailand over the past 22 years the first time in Phuket was in 1990 - we stayed on Karon beach however decided to choose somewhere a little quitier this time. We chose the Radisson blu after reading such good reviews and stayed for 10 nights 4-14th March we upgraded to one of the Radisson suites on the 4th floor which was amazing - panaramic views of the sea, sunken bath and superb shower. Slight critism why on earth was the flooring laminate such a shame as this slightly chepened the overall appearance of the room.

We prefer to eat locally for dinner so didn't try the hotel restaurant however lunch by the pool was good (great pad thai), we didn't experience any problems with delays in food or communication difficulties. The staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. The reataurants in Panwa bay served excellent food which was very reasonably priced.

We didn't take any trips as have previously done phi-phi. elephant treking, water rafting etc... however enjoyed kayacking (tide permitting). My husband enjoys exploring the area and stumbled on Ao- ong bay which is approx 15-20 mins walk from the hotel ( only 5 mins in a taxi 100 bt one way they will pick up at any time you request) beach is relatively small but pristine this truly is a little gem there are a couple of restaurants with seats overlooking the sea whilst it was quiet there is a lovely ambience to the place it reminded us of the Thailand 20+ years ago -- 2 lovely dogs reside there father and son Bobby and Max i would seriously recommend visiting .

Finally i would like to comment on our experience on the evening of our departure (Wednesday 14th March) our pre-paid booked transport didn't arrive i asked the duty manager who i think was called Geoof (apologies if this is incorrect spelling) to call the office he was told that there was a problem with the pick up car and that it wouldn't be able to collect us. He dealt with the problem effeciently and professionally and within 5 minutes a Radisson car arrived to take us to the airport at no cost to us he told us the transport company would reimburse the hotel directly. A huge thank you to him and all the staff - had a wonderful time.

Room Tip: 1471 Radisson suite - perfect
