We spent 4 days at Naka recently, it was amazing. We arrived to a warm welcome from the friendly staff and settled in to our villa with a private pool. Villa was great, pool was great, and catching the sunsets from the Z bar was fantastic. Between lounging at the private pool to soaking it up on the resort’s private white sand beach, we had sun, fun, and relaxation round the clock. Simply beautiful. Highly recommended.

Dear Shabbadooo,

Thank you so much for your review on Trip Advisor and I must say that It is pleasing to read how much you enjoyed your recent stay with us at The Naka Island, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket.

The friendly staff, private beach, pools and watching the beautiful sunsets from Z Bar while enjoying and evening cocktail and tapas, are definitely all features of our resort that are praised so often by our guests. Round the clock relaxation either in the sun or privacy of your luxury pool villa certainly is ‘Bliss’ and The Naka Island is the perfect place to do it.

Our brief was to find a short haul from Hong kong and do nothing for 8 days but roast in the sun and read, wear the kids out in the pool and work through 2 seasons of the game of thrones.

We have done phuket to death from romantic couple stays at the Amanpuri to kid centered mariott stays, including all the shades in between.
We were not even remotely interested with the hippatitude of Surin where the best service usually is so were a bit aprehensive about the fact that this is a newish property, with newly trained staff.

Very very pleasant surprise! Bohemian chic. What the banyan tree was all about years ago.

ROOMS:
Family of 4, 2 kids(8 & 4) easily accomodated on a huge daybed + super comfy rollaway. Huge 4-poster bed.
I would have to say the room is a bit on the small side.
Considering the size of the plot for each villa, its seems a waste that so much is lost on the outdoor bathroom designer garden.
Another gripe is that there is a small sand path leading into the room. So you bring in a bit of sand everytime you pass the threshold. Sooooo annoying later on when you step out of the shower.
But then again, it makes the boho robinson crusoe feel work.

FOOD:
Breakfast was fresh, varied spread, chef on site for spot cooking noodle dishes and you can order a selection of eggs, pancakes, french toat etc..... Shame the juice selection is not all freshly squeezed. Then again you can order, at no xtra charge anything freshly squeezed and its (cheap) champagne free flow if you are so inclined.

Lunch and dinner are well executed but achingly repetitive if you stay more than 4 days.
This is the major flaw.
For a break, order room service ( which has more options) or retreat to the z bar in the evening for sundowner drinks and asian inspired tapas.

No kids club but the staff is so incredibly gracious that you end up with free babysitting for he whole day. Its all about fishing, painting coconuts picked in the garden and the odd fotball game on the lawn.

Thoroughly revommend. Great management obviously as can be ascertained by the happy well trained staff.
Shame there is no local "economy".
Second the idea of a partnership empowering the local fishing village to step up and Offer food and massages.

Dear milo22,

Thank you for posting your feedback on Trip Advisor further to your family stay at The Naka Island, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket.

I appreciate your descriptive comments in regard to the resort being Bohemian Chic and Robin Crusoe feel, as our Resort has been crafted to be different from anywhere else and a change from the norm. It also pleases me to hear that you came to relax, read, wear out the kids in the pool and have some privacy in your Villa and were able to do this, as that is what The Naka Island resort is perfect for.

Your kind words complimenting our happy and well trained Ambassadors plus your dining experiences will be passed on to the departments concerned as well as your comments regarding areas of concern that we will review in our improvement process.

Thank you for ‘thoroughly recommending’ The Naka Island Resort in your review and I hope to have you and your family stay with us again at our resort in the near future.

Following the somewhat ´casual´boat ride, we were welcomed warmly by the team on the pier. A nice loud Bong and the relaxation starts!

The island is beautiful, the hotel is greatly maintained, and the surroundings and landscape make it a truly unique. You arrive at the villa and its perfectly set within the landscape, the infinity pool will not get you disappointed, and during turndown they set a line of small candles to make the mood just truly romantic!

The service is extremely attentive and sweet, at all times!

Do not miss on the Spa experience either. Truly one of a kind... We went during rainy season and sure made use of the facilities.

Beware: mosquitoes can be slightly annoying but the hotel is equipped with anti mosquitoes in the rooms and food and beverage outlets.
Beware2: it used to be a SixSenses hence the villas have a ´holistic construction´. The bathrooms are linked through open air and this might not be for everyone... but we loved it!

Room Tip: Lower rooms with a pool... true tranquility and privacy

Dear MM_M-M-D-Dubai,

I thank you for posting your feedback on Trip Advisor following your recent stay with us at The Naka Island Resort.

Your kind comments are much appreciated regarding our unique resort surroundings, infinity pool, and our unique Spa Naka experience, while our staff will also appreciate your compliment of them being attentive and sweet at all times.

The Naka Island, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa is perfect for intimate getaways due largely to the privacy of the luxury Villas and also to our intricate detail, like setting the mood during evening turndown with a line of candles as you found so romantic, or even being able to enjoy a romantic dinner in the privacy of your own Villa.

I hope that you have the opportunity to visit us again for another memorable Naka Island experience.

Kind Regards,

We stayed at Naka Island the week leading up to Christmas. The resort is wonderfully located and has good facilities and charming staff but unfortunately is a little rundown and is in need of some investment to justify the prices.

Dear AdrianNew_13,

Thank you for your comments further to your recent stay at The Naka Island Resort.
Our resort certainly is wonderfully located, as you mentioned and your kind compliments regarding our facilities and Ambassadors are appreciated.

The Naka Island, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket was rebranded in November 2011 and is designed in a unique style with rustic timber, low shine surfaces, rounded wall edges and natural earth tone colors. The Villa and resort appearance is highly praised by so many of our guests as it is unlike any other holiday destination, however it seems that the individuality of our resort may not have been to your liking.

Further to checking our records of your stay we have ascertained that you stayed in a Villa with a semi outdoor bathroom and would like to confirm that we have refurbished and enclosed bathrooms in 40 Villas already and plan to have a further 20 enclosed this year.

I thank you for staying with us at The Naka Island Resort and ask that you contact me directly for your next stay so I can personally make the necessary arrangements for you to stay in an enclosed bathroom Villa.

Kind Regards,
Erich Friedl
