“Paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2011

My family of 6 spent the last two weeks of December 2010 at the Grenada Grand. What a fantastic place! Our rooms were beachfront-right on the beautiful Grand Anse. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was heavenly. The grounds are lush and beautifully landscaped, an amazing and relaxing place to be. The pools and waterfalls are wonderful and uncrowded. Actually, we often had the beach and the pools to ourselves. The restaurant and poolside food was not bad, not great, but there are cafes, restaurants, and a market within easy walking distance. The Grenada Grand has all the luxury and beauty of a Four Seasons without the crowds and high prices.

well where do I start:
on our arrival we open our room only to find a cockroach party going on in the room. We kill a few and call reception: they tell us no other room available and a prompt disinfectation would take place. After 1h we come back and everything seems ok (no towels and some hair in the shower). In the next days we kept killing all sorts of insects every night (some of them in the middle of the night).

never found beach towels or shower towels and had to ask/wait all the time.

we had a breakfast only package (thanks god) where it was pretty regular but fruit was pretty rancid most of the times.

bar's menu was pretty basic and seemed to have run out of most stuff. Food menu is basic and in 1h you can have something to eat (DON'T try the "tropical" fruit dish as it consists of apples and oranges (tropical???))

pool bar was closed during the day and open when the pool was closed while pool showers don't really work.

During the stay we realised hotel occupancy was not more than 20 people but still everything was so difficult to get. Even families with all inclusive packages were often eating out.

Even if the hotel has probably 200 rooms they didn't think yet to add a courtesy room to make sure guests can shower on the day of departure if they can spend the morning on the beach.

general food prices seem high as you can get a full lobster at the coconut beach (100meters away) for the price of a salad in the hotel (80 caribbean dollars).

Staff was really friendly and clearly were trying to do their best in a place where everything is falling apart (management is non existant - as the manager only showed up a couple of times in the late afternoon and reception staff had to call him for every single problem).

finally - a 60 minutes long check out procedure ( I don't even want to mention the correspondence of what was consumed with the actual bill).

definitely won't be coming back even if the location is fantastic. (roumor around is that the hotel has been purchased by Hamilton.... mmmmh)

We arrived at the hotel from Tobago on the 23rd December 2010 late in the night after our flight was delayed and we were greeted with drinks in the lobby which is breathtaking. We had a garden view room which was very nice. The pools are out of this world with the waterfalls giving it that extra touch. We had 1 meal while there and it was tasty. There is also a mall across the road with groceries etc. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be close to all amenities. The airport is only 10 minutes away and the capital is only 15 minutes away. All our friends who saw our pictures upon our return back home wants to go across to Grenada. We will stay at this hotel again whilst in Grenada. I almost forgot about the free WIFi .

I frequently travel to Grenada and love this Resort. I am always met by friendly staff that remember me and treat me like a VIP. Love the renovations especially the new rooms. Really quiet and cold Air Conditioners and a huge plus. Love the Cappuccinos and Espressos. Love the new Dedon Public Furniture. Love the Chicken Roti. Love the great locaton - best in Grenada. When this Resort becomes a Crowne Plaza Resort early next year I'll get to earn Priority Club Points. Oh, I love the location to the shopping malls and bars. This is where I'll be back in a month's time. Cheers to Neil, the General Manager. Keep up the great work.

I have had a great time staying here. Lovely staff, great location and amazing views. I stayed in a newly renovated beach front room and loved it. The combination of the blue tranquil sea and white sanded beach made having my morning cup of tea very special. Thank you to everyone for making my stay so very lovely. look forward to returning soon.

We stayed at the Grenada Grand Beach Resort on Grand Anse Beach in St. Georges, Grenada for one beautiful week in April. I cannot say enough about this resort, and this island. The resort is very "laid back", but perfect for us. The location couldn't be better. It is right on one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to in the Caribbean. This island has so much to do and see. There is a rainforest with Mona monkeys. It is the "Isle of Spices", and they are everywhere, along with tropical fruits of all kinds. The capital city, St. Georges, is one of the most beautiful cities in the Caribbean. We visited ancient rum factories, nutmeg plantations and processing plants, waterfalls, gorgeous beaches, and took a day trip to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. We were on board the amazing schooner, the Scarmouche. What a trip! Took a small "island hopper" plane to get there. The scenery from the plane was amazing. The snorkeling in the Grenadines is spectacular! Can't wait to go back!

It's was a very nice stay, although we had to change room because of ants. Received an upgrade when we had to move. The beach is just fantastic. 3 km long. It's a public beach so in the morning you meet the locals at the beach. When we where there there were very few other at this large complex. We stayed for 11 days with our 6 months boy. The food was ok and so the service, but the location is great.

Grenada was a nice Island. Much better than Antigua. Travelling to St. George's with local minibuses was some exotic for us from well-organized North Europe. Did also have a boat-trip to the other island, Carriacou, and a round-trip at the island. Nice.
