“Interesting at Radission Grenada”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

I spent three days at the Radission Grenada Beach Resort in April 2014 attending a Conference. The Conference facilities were vary spacious and contained smaller conference rooms for small groups as well as for group breakout activities.
I found that generally the staff at the hotel were very friendly. On arrival one is greeted with a Caribbean flavoured fruit punch. Interaction with the staff at the Reception area is a pleasant experience as they are professional, courteous and very helpful. I was very pleased with the assistance provided by Ms. Denise Wilson during my stay at the hotel who with her warm smile, pleasant voice, and cheerful personaity displayed maturity in attending to guests who were arriving and guest who were checking out. She also provided practical suggestions that made my stay at the hotel a delightful and enjoyable one. She was always pleasant, warm and very engaging and professional during my three days at the hotel.

The Hotel is located along the Grand Anse Beach which is one if not the best beach in Grenada.
It is a must for visitors who have the time to enjoy white sand and clear blue waters of the ocean.

The breakfast and lunch menu has a Caribbean flavor infused with the local flavor at every opportunity.

We stayed here from March 17-24, 2014 and we were extremely impressed by the location of the hotel, the cleanliness, the grounds, the rooms and above all, the service. We have travelled to many of the islands and the friendliest people we have ever met are the people of Grenada and the staff at this hotel made our holiday one of the best ever. Oour maid, Dessa was just wonderful, she met us each day with a hug and a huge smile. She even brought us some different fruit to try and she even gave us a gift when we left. We were extremely touched by her generosity - never expecting this. We also we treated in the same manner by one of the bar staff, Pamela Morain. She also came to see us off before we left and her friendliness and attention was truly appreciated. We found the staff at the front desk to be exceptional as well. They gave us recommendations for restaurants and made reservations for us. Although we weren't provided with a fridge upon arrival, we received one shortly after our request and our check-in was handled efficiently. Other staff who provided exceptional service was David, Trix, and Alana. We met the General Manager, Romona Stefan and the RoomsDivision Manager, Georgette Davis and both asked us on numerous occasions whether we had issues at the hotel and how we were enjoying ourselves. They were friendly and approachable and always ready to assist us in any way they could. Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. They were kept spotless throughout our stay and the grounds people were always working to keep all the areas in the hotel exceptionally clean and everyone greeted you with a smile. The Manager's Pary on Tues. evening was a big hit with an assortment of appetizers, drinks and music. It was a great way to meet other people at the hotel and some of the staff.

Although there are renovations taking place, the noise was minimal and they are doing a wonderful job with the improvements. Rooms are close to the beach; no hills to climb. The pools were very clean and the waterfalls spectacular with lots of nice chairs. Although the menu is not extensive at the restaurants, the food that we had was very good especially the blackened fish.

With renovations taking place, we would think the price will increase but we are hoping we can afford to come back to this hotel since it is such a great place to stay. We could not have been happier with our choice. We wish the Radisson much success as they continue to renovate and improve the hotel. The management is doing a wonderful job and the staff is what makes this hotel a true treasure.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 234 and we found it to be very quiet. It was close to the pools and the reception...

This is our 4th visit to this resort. Yes, in the past there was a lot left to be desired, but the location & grounds were so beautiful & the staff - as most Grenadians are - so polite, that we overlooked it's minor shortcomings and always returned.

What a transformation!! We arrived late evening and was immediately greeted warmly by a young man named Greg with a beaming smile & a tray with fruit juice. At the front desk we were also greeted very warmly & checking in was a breeze.

We stayed in the beach front room as we always do & was surprised to see a complete makeover.....it was well done & we loved the new walk in shower. Everything in the room has been updated & was spotless.

The breakfast was really good, a huge selection that catered for the American, European & Caribbean cuisine. A major improvement in choices and quality of ingredients. The Food & beverage Manager Richard was very attentive & made sure that we received 1st class attention and that everything was up to par.
We ended up eating most of our meals at the hotel, because of the excellent service & food.

The Poolside bar also got a huge makeover. The service there was also excellent with the warm & welcoming Carmen & Kim making us laugh & helping us to unwind.

A couple of nights there was live entertainment that was very good & the band so engaging, that many of the guests danced. We all had a great time night.

I cannot say enough about the staff. We have travelled to so many parts of the world, to so many different continents and have literally never encountered people as warm, kind, polite and welcoming as the Grenadian people. Not only at the resort but everywhere we went including the main market place, the countryside & stores downtown.

Forgot to mention that every morning every Guest received a call from the Operations Manager, asking if there was anything we needed, or if there was anything they could do to improve our stay. We asked for an extra pillow & it was at our door within 5 mins.

We attended the Managers cocktail party for the 1st time & it was well attended by lots of happy & contented Guests. We made lots of new friends from so many parts of the world & we all swore we were going to meet next year same place. Many, were returning guests who expressed how pleasantly surprised they were at the huge improvements.

Every Manager on this property interacted with the guests, checking on our level of comfort. This personality trait was evident everywhere, including the polite Guards who were always there with a friendly hello & quick to help with the beach chairs without being asked.

Complaints - none!! Not even my perfectionist husband could find anything to complain about!

Anyone who has stayed here recently & say they weren't happy, may have to take a look at themselves & admit that maybe they are the problem! Sorry.....just saying! These are very sweet people & I'm a believer in "what you give out in life you get back" it's the Caribbean unspoiled!

Thank you to all the Managers & excellent staff. We can't wait to be back soon. It was a quick 5 day getaway that exceeded our expectations in every way.
Thank you!!

This was my first time staying at the Radisson and was a little concerned with the number of negative reviews we read but as this was only a one night stay in transit to Carriacou I felt it was worth taking the chance as some of the more recent reviews indicated that improvements had been made.

Firstly I would like to add that I emailed management prior to travelling to have assurances that the number of concerns had been addressed but received no response. This wasn't the best start.

We were a large part of 18 travelling so you can understand I wanted some assurances as I had chosen the hotel.

To get the negative out of the way. The check in was somewhat chaotic as the price we were quoted on the UK website differed from the hotel rates. namely the cost included all local taxes. after some lengthy enquires by reception they agreed to honour the rate quoted on the website. As explained it was merely for 1 night and it took over an hour to check in after 12 hours of travelling this wasn't a good start.

the other negative - dinner. the menu wasn't extensive but the hotel wasn't full by any stretch but one of our party had to wait nearly 2 hours for her meal. Whilst the bar tender (the bar closest to the dining area) who was extremely good as the only person who seem to have an idea what was going on, we heard the altercation between him and the kitchen. This I felt was unprofessional and any dispute should be handled behind the scenes and not in view of the guests. There was no shouting or bad language but such discussions is best kept away from guests.

I would like to stress that this was after he called the kitchen for the umpteenth time to find out what had happened to the meal. The waitress had no clue! The bar tender is a real asset to the hotel as was able to deal with multiple requests from a very large party and it was the failure of his fellow colleagues that let him down. if he is not already, he should be trained in management. Good staff should always be developed and held onto. The rest of the staff although friendly would benefit from additional basic training.

Positives:

The welcome drink at reception was a nice touch and appreciated for tired and weary travellers.

The rooms were close to the front desk as requested as we were only staying one night.

The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds comfortable.

The hotel called to make sure we were happy with the rooms and this was a really nice touch.

We received our wake up call as requested as an early morning flight for a few of us.

The rooms we had were directly on the beach which is lovely.

The bar area was nice and the entertainment good that night. The night we were there the bar closer to the beach made the best cocktails, sorry but true.

All in all I have to say that the hotel is a good 3 star but has potential of being a good 4 star, but they need to pull out all the stops.. The Radisson is getting there and I will definitely go back again.

Some of our party returned for another night on the way back to the UK to enjoy Grenada, so that is definitely a good sign.

If I was able to give a good rating I would but it is 'Good' but not yet 'Very Good'.

I wanted to spend a little time with my mum over Mother's Day as we live in different countries. We decided on Grenada to spend a long weekend. On arrival At the receptionist's desk, we were met by friendly staff and a glass of fruit punch which started off our short stay in a delightful mood.
The attendant showed us our room and whilst placing our luggage made sure we knew where all switches were and how to turn off/on etc.
the atmosphere is very relaxed and as the hotel has just reopened under the Radisson brand, the ambience and decor is clearly Scandinavian.
The views are amazing and as it is located on grand Anse, you cannot get closer to the beach 4 star style.
The evening chef, George prepared tasty sumptuous buffet meals consisting of local fish and chicken and the waitresses were in full attention waiting on all diners in a prompt manner. Breakfast was also a choice of local delights, and we highly recommend the omelettes!!
Walking around the hotel, from housekeeping to gardeners to security to the managers, all had a cheerful smile and greeting.
Both my mum (who lives in Trinidad) and I will not hesitate recommending this hotel to others.
As for me, I am a radisson fan having stayed at Radissons all overScandinavia and New York on a frequent basis. The brand and Scandinavian efficiency has been successfully implemented into the caribbean warmth.

Room Tip: Always beach front!

Radisson have injected some much needed tlc the the Grenada Beach resort, with noticeable improvements throughout the resort. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The resort is located on the beautiful Grand Anse beach, though offers a couple of pools for those people who don't want to swim in the sea (though I can't imagine why not!)

Room Tip: You pretty much get what you pay for, the cheaper rooms are away from the beach, but are fine if you...

My husband and I stayed here the last week of February, and the warm memories have helped us through a bad winter. I thought I had written a review, but it must be on another site. Ms. Georgette and the front desk staff (especially Joshua) addressed our concern about the original, seaside room, which was noisy from the entertainment, and moved us to an "executive" room with beautiful sea views and great privacy. We were extremely happy to have peace, quiet, and a bathtub. The beach and sinuous pool, with waterfalls and bougainvillea, are incomparable. The food is only so-so (except for the lobster, when available). Several dining room staff: Ms. Yolanda and Mr. Joseph---were attentive, but the bartenders at the poolside bar were not. My other comment is that it would be nice to know in advance what is on the program for evening music, and we would have liked more help on arranging activities off of the hotel grounds, though the grounds are extensive and lovely. Renovations were not a problem at all. I have been to Grenada several times for the Grande Anse beach and lovely island scenery. This was the best hotel experience by far. We shall return!
