After arrival on the the Island with Ba, the crew said it was a beautiful island, They must be thinking of a different Caribbean Island, arriving at the hotel, we got checked in atter waiting 20 mins for others to do the same, we got to our rooms, which are either on the ground floor or 1 up, with steps no lifts, when we opened the door to our Caribbean room hoping for a surprise, my god that what we did not get, there were 2 large double beds, with very basic bedding and curtins that needed to be binned, the air con was put on asap due to the heat, but it leeks water on th the floor outside, there you get cheap plastic table and chairs, the room colours are awful a kind of orange, and the very very basic bathroom was well basic with cheap thin towels, and for the price you do expect a little luxury, not hear, we had a sea view but from a distance, there are 2 pools, one small one round with a waterfall, and a jacuzzi which did not work and having asked hasent worked in weeks???, the pool sunbeds again are cheap white plastic and there were a good few broken, you dont get towels, and no pool service, the pool bar thats 1, was manned by one guy, so waiting became the norm, and drinks served in little plastic cups was so annoying, the breakfast was ok ish and we arent picky, but just not good, and the first evening we looked at the hotel Restaurant menu, and other guests told us the food was not up to scratch, so we went outside the hotel grounds to have a look and all we found were dirty old pubs or KFC, ??????,

The so called famous Grand ans Beach was itself a nice beach, except every 5/10 mins you get hassled with locals selling every kind of things, and we got offered Ganga/Dope/Joints so many times it put us off sitting on the beach, and in the afternoon the local guys were sitting under trees getting stonned, and again and again you get offered to buy the crap,

We took a day to look at the main town itself, and sadly it was very dissapointing, very dirty, with nothing but fast food stores to eat, and the same old tat, we wanted to find some lovely gift stores, but it had nothing except a large store where you can buy booze, I laughed my head off when I read it was called the spice Island, if dope in your face is Spice then I must have no sence of smell, We ordered a taxi to the Famous La Sport, and for 50 USD PP, you get a day pass to enjoy this and food and booze, again the beach was private, and very very small, and a very small pool with so many people squeezed into a crammed space, the grounds themselves are lovely, and I got told the rooms are nice, but from what we seen I wouldent pay the money,

So They may call this the Grenada Grand Beach Resort, I would call it a complete DUMP, that needs totally modernising in every sence, Never again would I go hear evan if I won the Holiday,

Room Tip: Book a Better Hotel,

My husband and I spent a long weekend (for our anniversary) at this resort. From the moment we arrived we were well taken care of. The staff at the front desk and bell staff is very attentive and helpful and is certainly going the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as can be. We had a room on the 4th floor (one of the Executive Rooms) and it had a fantastic view of the beach and yes - we had a hammrock on our balcony. The room was very clean and the housekeeping associates very friendly and helpful. The service in the restaurant and bars was outstanding as well. We participated in the Saturday night Fish Grille Night and it was great. They had a wide variety of salads, a soup, big dessert station and the best part was you could walk up to the chef on the bbq and he would make what you ordered (that night they had a Mahi-Mahi, a Steak and Shrimp to choose from). The hotel also assists you if you would like to do a tour - which is very nice. If you ask them for suggestions as on what to do or to see - you never go wrong. From the arrival to departure we had an amazing vacation and the associates were all very welcoming and went the extra mile to made our stay one of the best vacations we had in a long time. We certainly will be back.

My Wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, from the moment we were warmly greeted by the smiling face of Deron (one of the excellent conceirge) we knew that we were going to be very well looked after! We stayed in one of the Garden view rooms which was in close proximity to the Sunset pool and beach. The room was very clean and comfortable (and was maintained all through the stay by very happy and personable house keeping staff).
on our first night we were lucky enough to experience seeing a leatherback turtle on the beach laying her eggs. This was thanks to Joshua the ever smiling and friendly security guard who called us over to witness such a wonderful natural event.
The Tradewinds restaurant and Oasis grill and restaurant again were always very clean, with good food and we were always very warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff (Linda, Nakarta, Nigel and Kimball to name a few).
We had a wonderful week here; the hotel and grounds are excellent and the staff very much make the experience personable and memorable.

Many thanks to you all, Emma & Simon Bolton.

Having read the reviews of Grand Beach, I was a little hesitant to get a room there. The hotel looked beautiful on line, but the reviews about their service were poor. But I can say that we had a very nice time at the hotel, for our short stay. We just stayed there for one night, after checking out from LaSource (since we had a very early flight the next morning). We stayed in an ocean front room, with double beds. The room looked out at the beautiful Grand Anse Beach. The grounds of the hotel are well manicured.

When we checked in, the front desk had our reservation ready (from latebooking.com). They offered us a cold towel and drink upon check in. They also provided us little bottles of rum punch. Nice touches. The valet service was friendly and efficient. The only trouble that we ran into was that the room key stopped working twice, and this required a very long walk back and forth from the room to the front desk, twice. But we're in Grenada - no worries!

On Sunday afternoon, it didn't appear that the restaurant was open. That was fine, as we had made arrangements to go The Aquarium for the Sunday BBQ. Excellent - see my review.

For taxi, we used Chris's Tours and Taxi all our moves between the hotels, for airport pick up and for the island and market tours. Highly recommended - see my review!!

Room Tip: Ocean front room through "Specials" on "Latebooking.com" got us the best deal on line. ($147 US in June).
