What a nice thing to see! It is very impressive and interesting to see Neil with his dogs. I saw it once on TV but to see it live is much better. Neil answered all our questions and is very kind. You have to see it!

“A Must See”
Reviewed July 18, 2010

My wife and I stumbled onto this wonderful place while traveling in the Cairngorms. Located just 5km south of the Village of Aviemore - we had called ahead and discovered they were having a demonstration for a private tour group at noon (normally they have it daily 4:00). We were invited to join the demonstration for 15 pounds for the two of us. This was a small price to pay for the amusement we received.

It is a small farm with a beautiful view of the mountains. The farm had some Scottish cattle, sheep, and plenty of border collies. The dogs were all very friendly and we were allowed to pet them before the exhibition. Once Neil Ross came outside you could see how excited the dogs were and how eager they wanted to work for him. If you know dogs, you can tell they were very happy and well taken care of they are.

Over the course of the next hour we watched as the dogs brought in the herd and followed commands to a tee. Neil explained how the training was performed and discussed the difficulities of the lifestyle. Neil demonstrated how the sheep wool was removed. We also learned how ducks were used in training. The dogs simply steal the show at the complete dedication to their craft.

At the end, we were able to handle some newborn collie puppies.

If you support local businesses, it doesn't get any more local than Neil and his family. They live a simple life and the tour income helps them makes ends meet. If you are looking for something different and love animais, I encourage you to visit this attraction.
