Dear Mohamed N,

Many thanks for your review. We are thrilled that you and your wife enjoyed your honeymoon with us. Your kind words are much appreciated and I am proud that our team made such a positive impression on you. As you mention, the Sunset Suite is a great option for travellers looking for great ocean views. Especially for honeymooners this room category is suitable, as the balconies offer a very romantic setting, especially with the spectacular sunset backdrop.

Again thank you for your feedback. We hope we will have the chance to welcome you and your wife back again soon.

We had three nights in a sunset suite: gorgeous views, super clean and comfortable, quite spacious, very comfortable. the staff were all very professional, and there was zero air of snootiness. a very relaxed environment. before arriving we were concerned that the price was a bit higher than what we were looking to spend, but after arriving we soon realized that it was totally worth it; Fair House is done quite a better than similar places in the area. we'd definitely go back.

Room Tip: top of the property rooms are the best, farthest from the reception area have best views

As for the room tips, you are correct. The rooms in our Chalet Zone (Deluxe Balcony, Sunset Jacuzzi and Sunset Suite) generally offer the best ocean view. Especially the Sunset Suites are great for travellers looking for spectacular views.

From the beginning to the end of our stay, everything has been better than expected. You begin your stay with a private visit of the hotel area (lobby, pool, villas, restaurant,...). We stayed in a garden villa which provided us everything we could need and a very beautiful bathroom ! The external accommodation was also great, a big pool area with a bar in the pool serving good cocktails and tasty nuts! We enjoyed a varied and good breakfast in the restaurant with a stunning view on our private beach and the sea... :)

Service was great. We booked a motorcycle from the hotel for 4 days (with helmets) and Mr Vigbjorn Hassel Vaage (call him Vig.. easier ^^ ), the hotel's manager, took the time to provide us good advices on where to go. He also showed us the garden of the hotel and we planted a tree with his help, that was fun !

We really recommend this hotel to everyone who would like to have relaxing holidays in a pleasant, quiet and not too expensive hotel.

Dear Dino F,

Thank you for your reviewing our hotel and thank you for your kind words. We are thrilled that you guys enjoyed your stay with us last month. It certainly was a great pleasure having you here.

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your Garden Villa, the breakfast, the restaurant, our pool and of course the cocktails at the pool bar.

Renting a motorbike to go around the island is a nice and cheap way to explore Samui. I am always happy to help our guests find their way around and I am happy my tips were helpful for you. It was also a pleasure showing you around our organic garden and planting a tree with you. It is great to meet with guests who are interested in our green project and share our passion for environmental preservation of our beautiful island.

Again thank you for your review and your recommendation. I wish you a nice and cozy winter season in Lausanne and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

My girlfriends and I booked 6 days and 5 nights at the Fair House Villas & Spa.We stayed in a garden bungalow and it was beautiful. As part of our package, a breakfast buffet was included every morning. Although the breakfast menu did not change, there was a large assortment to choose from that allowed you to alter your selections each day.

There is a lot to do at the resort. There is a beautiful pool over looking the ocean. They have free kayaks for you to use and snorkeling sets. There are also free bikes to rent. There is also a free shuttle bus that will take you in to Chaweng. My friends and I made sure to use every amenity possible. It was fantastic!

The staff here is so friendly and helpful. We only had one mishap which was being late for breakfast one morning. We were only late by 10 minutes but one of the servers refused to serve us and rudely indicated breakfast was over. We filed a complaint with reception and the manager of the restaurant was accommodating and agreed to provide us with breakfast.

The only two cons are is that it's a bit secluded and the sand on the beach is a bit course. However, if looking for some R&R this is a great place. I would highly recommend staying at this resort. It's a little piece of paradise.

Room Tip: Ask for room 220. It's right in the middle of the resort. A 1 min walk to the lobby and even sho...

Dear A_Slotty,

Many thanks for your valuable feedback and your kind words. We are thrilled that you and your friends enjoyed your Garden Villa, the breakfast buffet, the pool and our activity and amenity offer. Especially I am proud to hear the positive feedback on our staff, although I am saddened to hear about the breakfast incident. It might have been a factor the server’s level of English made it difficult for him/her to formulate it politely. Either way I apologize for this and I am glad our restaurant manager was able to resolve the situation for you.

It is true that we are a bit secluded (500 meters from the main road and 20 minutes from central Chaweng), which is partly why we are able to maintain a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere at our resort. As you mention, we provide our guests with free of charge shuttle service to Chaweng and Chaweng Noi beach.

Again thank you for reviewing and recommending us. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Gorgeous villas in the tropical grounds which keep the patio cool, but beware a few insects. Very quiet but a complimentary bus to Chaweng takes you to the action, and the best beach.
Nice pool with basketball net. Free kayaks and snorkelling gear and bikes.

A few little things spoled it:
none of the resto menus had all the pages and there was no wine list
Rediculous price charged for our son's camp bed. More than we paid each for our super-king-sized bed
Great breakfast buffet became a-la-carte. We never got what we ordered, ever.

Dear BevInChamonix,

Thank you for writing this review of your stay with us. We are content to learn that you enjoyed our villas, gardens, complimentary shuttle service, pool area and our free of charge kayak, snorkelling and bike rental.

I think there might have been some confusion with the menus in the restaurant. The menus do have all the pages, but we have three different menus: lunch, dinner and beverage, all in similar folders. You have received different menus which led to this confusion, for what I sincerely apologize. We are working on implementing new types of folders, which should eliminate this problem for good.

We launched a brand new wine list this summer. If you asked for it and did not receive it, please accept my apologies. I am not sure what led to this misunderstanding, but we will go through it with the restaurant team.

We charge a flat rate of 1500 Baht for an extra bed, including breakfast for the third person.

During very slow periods, where it is not justifiable to maintain a breakfast buffet (because of high level of waste and difficulty to keep the food fresh), we offer our guest a la carte breakfast service. The fact that you did not received what you ordered is very unfortunate, and will be addressed internally with the restaurant team.

Again thank you for your comments. Your feedback is highly valuable to us and helps us constantly improve our service delivery. We hope we can welcome your back in the future to show our improvements in these areas.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Fair House Villa (end of Oct. 2012). What we loved the most: We were almost the only guests there! There were maybe 10-15 more guests. It was truly relaxing and peaceful. Eventhough it was monsoon season we hardly had any rain.

We booked a pool villa which we thought was excellent - no complaints. The villa is very spacious and we loved the furniture and decoration. The bathroom is big and beautiful too. Great shower!

We also liked the pool area very much. It's not too big and not too small. It's right by the ocean.

Breakfast was good too - nothing extraordinary, but ok for the price. We liked the fresh omelettes and fruit.

The restaurant is really good. Try the risotto eventhough you're in Thailand. I had it twice! :-)

The only thing we were a little disappointed about is the beach (that's the reason why we gave 4 points and not 5). It's clean and has beautiful palm trees, but the sand is not as white and fine as in Chaweng or Lamai and the ocean is also not as clear, BUT you get the beach almost to yourself. That was a big plus for us. Eventhough the beach is much nicer in Chaweng or Lamai, we still preferred to stay in Mae Nam. It's so much quieter and that's exactly what we were looking for.

If you're looking for parties and lots of restaurant, Fair House Villas will probably not satisfy you. You will need a scooter or car to discover Mae Nam or close by Bophut. But if you're looking for peace and a quiet stay in a very nice hotel Fair House Villas is an excellent pick. We would love to come back one day.

Dear jwab2011,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review of your stay with us last month. We are happy you enjoyed your stay in the Pool Villa and that you liked our pool area, the restaurant, the privacy of Mae Nam beach and the relaxing atmosphere at Fair House Villas & Spa. It is true that you stayed with us in low season, but even in high season when the hotel is full, it never gets “crowded” here. Due to the large area and vast tropical gardens, we are able to maintain a relaxing atmosphere year around, which many of our guests appreciate.

During this season, the tide is quite high, meaning that the beach directly in front of the hotel shrinks and even disappears during certain hours of the day. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do about this. Most of our guests prefer to stay on our sunbeds on the sandy level above the beach with direct access to the sea. We also offer free of charge shuttles year around for our guests to go to Chaweng Noi beach on the eastern part of the island.

Once again many thanks for reviewing and recommending us. We hope to welcome you back someday soon.

We spent a week here while on our honeymoon. We stayed in the Beachfront Pool Villa which was perfect. The service was good and the staff always smiled and greeted us whenever they saw us -some even learned our names. The worst part was check out when it took 45 minutes to check out as the staff seemed to not be able to prioritise their time and kept attending to others to answer directional questions etc rather than just doing the job at hand. In the end we unfortunately had to have a yelling match with the staff (as was another guest) because we really needed to get to the airport and they seemed to be doing anything but helping us. But like I say, that was the final day and the rest of the time the staff were great. The food was really good and we had a lot of room service which was always quick to arrive. However, there seemed to be an issue with clearing afterwards as we often ate on an outside table and the plates then remained there until we gave them back when the waiter bought our lunch the next day. The cleaners were also inconsistent. Two or three of the seven days we noticed the room hadn't been cleaned by 4.00pm and asked for it to be serviced. Although the rooms were always cleaned well it became a game guessing how many waters, coffee sachets, soap etc they would replenish as every day was different. The breakfasts were really good, the main swimming pool was really big and inviting and even the gym was ok (not quite like the gym back home). The beach wasn't as beautiful as I was hoping but the private pool and views were good enough for the kind of relaxing holiday we were looking for. It was a great honeymoon hotel and the villas were very private and spacious.

Dear Markesther,

Many thanks for your review. We are happy to learn that you and your wife enjoyed your honeymoon at our resort. Especially the kind words about our staff means a lot to us, but we are also happy you enjoyed your Beachfront Villa, the food quality, the room service, our main pool and the relaxing atmosphere at Fair House Villas & Spa.

On the other hand, it is unfortunate that our housekeeping standards were not met and that the cleaning was inconsistent. Since your stay with us in January, we have successfully reworked our housekeeping operational procedures, based on guest feedback, to avoid cases such as the one you describe. Also, the room service procedures have been reworked to ensure faster cleaning of room service trays.

With the help of valuable feedback such as yours, we are able to constantly improve on our service delivery and performance. This is extremely valuable to us in our mission to optimize the guest experience at our resort.

Again thank you for your valuable review. We hope to welcome your family back to our resort in the future.
