This is the first time we stayed here...the resort we stayed at before was closed for renovations. In once sense we are glad that it was. From the arrival at the airport where we were met by a good and polite driver to our fast and courteous check-out we were delighted with the facility, the service, and the wonderful Roma restaurant. The rooms are clean, well appointed, private, and yet everything is easily accessible. The amount of vegetation provides both privacy and shade. The two pools were never crowded and the beach was clean and generally free of hawkers. There were some children - but not many. When we were there the clientel tended to be middle-aged and up - which was fine for us. The clientel ranged from Europeans to Asians. The free shuttle service to another more lively beach was a nice touch - allowing us to see another sort of beach with many tourist oriented shops. The tour desk was staffed by a pleasant and helpful person. The hotel staff arranged for and drove us to our golf - The Samui Santiburi has some amazing holes! We plan on returning during our next visit to Koh Samui.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 days. We booked 2 nights in an ordinary room, and it was lovely, the bathroom had a huge shower, new and renovated with lovely interior and mosaic tiles. Our 4 last nights were spent in one of the beach bungalows, and it was amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful, the whole hotel was very clean with great service from the staff! I am amazed that the guard on the beach stood there in full uniform all day!

My Husband and I have recently returned from a 3 week stay at the Paradise Beach Resort - Koh Samui in October/November 2008. Our holiday was perfect to say the least. Our Welcome was wonderful and as it was for an Anniversary we were given many extras which were fantastic. The Assistant Manager and Reception Staff made us feel very special.

My Husband is a Coeliac and requires a Gluten Free diet. The chef Orlando created so many delicious dishes that had to be seen to be believed. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he even supplied freshly baked bread and cakes every day. The meals in the two restaurants and the buffet breakfasts are delicious - remember to try the omelettes which are done to perfection. Each evening there is entertainment which is great fun. The Pool Bar makes delicious cocktails and you can have delicious meals and snacks throughout the day while lying by the pool or just gazing out to sea.

The staff in every area of the resort are so polite and friendly and are willing to do anything for you. After a couple of days they even knew what we wanted before we asked. We have made many friends among them and are now emailing to keep in touch. They never stop smiling.

The 2 pools are kept spotlessly clean and the tropical gardens that surround the resort are outstanding. If you choose to swim in the sea it is just a few paces from the pool. There are flowers everywhere and birds singing in the trees. Our room was kept beautifully clean and every day we had orchids left on our bed.

The lovely Thai ladies who give the massages are fantastic. We started having a massage every 2nd day and then ended up having one every day - sheer bliss and very reasonable.

The resort is lovely and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, but if you want to go into Chaweng for shopping or nightlife then there is a free Return Shuttle Bus every hour which can drop you off at other locations on the way which is great. For active teenagers, young adults and party goers the atmosphere may be a too quiet especially if you are looking for non-stop fun with others of your age group, but for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway this is the place for you.

We met several couples that had been coming to this Resort for many years and after our stay we can certainly see why they would return. We only have one fault and that was that our stay was not long enough!!

When we left, so many of the staff from Managers, Reception Staff to House Maids and other guests came to say Goodbye and there were a few tears shed as we left. Yes, we will definitely return to this Paradise by the Sea. We are counting the days.

  • Liked — The quiet location, the beautiful surroundings, massages and the wonderful friendly Staff.
  • Disliked — Loved everything.

This is a very nice resort on a quiet beach. This is a SAGA resort so if you're young and want to party DO NOT stay here.

Myself and my partner stayed for 12 nights, we are quite young and found that although this is a very nice resort we were about 30 + years younger than pretty much everyone else there.

The rooms were nice and the air-con worked exceptionally well. The mini-bar is cheaper than the beach bar!

There are two large pools both very clean and well maintained, the grounds staff keep the resort spotless and the rooms are serviced daily.

The roma restaurant is fantastic if not a little bit pricey, but then all of Koh Samui is expensive these days which shocked us as it's always been so cheap.

The buffet breakfast is good with a large range of hot and cold choices and is served until 11am.

There is a shuttle that goes into chaweng every hour and takes you back every hour on the half hour. BE WARNED that the cranky night shuttle man will leave you in Chaweng if you are not there by the stroke of :30 and he did leave some other guests in Chaweng that arrived at the designated pick up point 1 minute late.

We enjoyed our time here but would not stay there again as there were no activities at the resort and it would have been nice to have some planned sports or some form of activity.

  • Liked — The service of staff and the room service menu
  • Disliked — The Cranky shuttle bus man

I booked into this hotel on a spur of the moment decision, as i was with a group of 5 holiday makers, and 2 were staying here (the 2 i knew best), 3 elsewhere. I hadn't planned to spend this much money, but the hotel looked spectacular, and the welcome and introduction they received from the front desk staff was amazing.

While i cannot fault the room, hotel setting, services or general staff attitude, i had a serious security breach which was not rectified to a sufficient standard. We left the hotel one night, and (naively perhaps in hindsight - but this is a prestige and expensive hotel) left our safe box keys attached to our room keys, and left them at reception. We returned late and went straight to bed. When i checked my wallet -which had been in the 'safe' box- the next morning i found 4000baht and $100 (Singapore - where i was due to travel next) missing from it. My friends also had money missing (see review http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293918-d305826-r21837056-Paradise_Beach_Resort-Koh_Samui.html).

After reporting this to first the assistant, then general manager we were promised a full investigation. After several 'investigations' by Peter the manager we were still no closer to any kind of resolution, with him going in circles saying it was 'most unusual' and that it had never happened before. He further said there was 'no evidence' of any incident, or of us having any money in the first place! After getting absolutely nowhere i suggested he deduct the money i lost from my bill, at which point he insinuated that i'd fabricated the whole affair, questioning why i had booked on the spur of the moment and saying that i didn't have the money to stay there.

I have never felt so livid and violated in my entire life, not only was there to be no resolution - but i was accused of being a liar by the very staff who are supposed to be responsible for maintaining our safety and security while staying at this so called prestige resort. I am a fair man - so again i say aside from this unfortunate incident the hotel is pretty good, but this experience has permanently tainted my vision of it. If you do chose to stay here (i would not recommend it in any proximity), at least make sure you never leave your safe key and door key in the same location.

  • Liked — The greeting and introduction from front desk and amazing on-site Thai massage.
  • Disliked — Having money stolen from my room, then being called a liar by the management.

We arrived to a Beautiful Resort, with amazing customer service.
The team where amazing, and the room was great.
Unfortunatley on our first evening our locked safe in our room and our friends room, two doors down where broken into.
We foolishly left our safe keys with reception when we went out for dinner that evening. We returned to find our money missing from our safes.
We notified the staff about our theft and they did a "thorough" investagation. We meet with Peter the General Manager who said he had questioned his team and none were at fault.
We were very upset about this and the lack of compassion he showed us. Our friend checked out that night, but as we had pre-paid, we stayed out our booked accomdation. For the last two days we walked around the premises feeling very uncomfortable, as we were made to feel guilty for what had happened, as if we had made up the the theft.

This is a beautiful resort but I would never stay there again or recommend this property to any of my friends.

There is a security problem at Paradise Beach Resort, whether they want admit it or not.

If you want the total laid back experience in a holiday resort then this is the place for you. Their is nothing to fault with this resort. The staff are very friendly and courteous, the meals are varied and plentiful, and the rooms are large and very clean and as the name suggests, it is right on the beach. If you want the Bangkok style hussle & bussel there is a free shuttle into Chaweng every hour between 10.00am & 11.00pm. The trip only takes 20 minutes and the drivers are very punctual in picking you up at the time you request. I cannot speak too highly of this place. 10/10.

  • Liked — The tranquil environment & friendly resort staff
  • Disliked — Nothing to dislike except having to leave.
