Very private and exclusive resort. The residence itself was exquisite and luxurious.with 2fl. of bedrooms and leaving room. the views from our villa was out of this world, excellent panorama ocean view make i feel like the heaven is just in front of me.
We had dinner the restaurant. served good quality food especially Thai Menu Name " Masaman" which we highly recommend. the people working there. Never before I've found such a charming, helpful and efficient hotel staff as we found there. Their permanent smile, from sunrise to sunset and the way take care of any need that you may have, makes you feel so comfortable that you feel you could stay there for ever. Thank you so mcuh for excellent experience!!.

After a day out in Samui, our family of four really looked forward to going home to this restful resort. Everything here gets a piece of the very good feng shui as the whole compound sits comfortable on a moutain while facing a stunning view of ocean and clouds. Our neighbour is a very hospitable European couple who immigrated to Samui for retirement with their lovely dog, my kids and I have great fun walking the dog together with its owner. Although we only stayed for 3 nights, John the GM and Lek the Manageress on Duty had all the answers to our questions, ranging from investments to planting and special bees : )

Room Tip: Worth finding a driver who will give you a good deal for hourly or return trip rental.

I stayed at Infinity Samui alone and it was my first solo trip. First, I have to admit that I am scared to staying alone, because of safety, but it is not. I find it awesome staying there. The staff took good care of me. They called me many times to check if I was fine to stay alone. The local staff represent Thai personalities-serviced mined, polite and smile!

If you want to see different angle of Sumui Island. I recommend staying high on hill, so that you can see the panorama view of the gulf of Thailand. I stayed in a would-rather-called "two-storey house". I feel like a home more than a resort. On the ground floor is a bedroom connected to private pool. It means that I enjoyed swimming as much as I would like.

On the second floor, there are living room, pantry and dining area with temporally style. I can see Koh Phangan on my living room. The sunset is impressive every evening. I can see the sunset at my private balcony.

If you wan to see around Sumui Island. There is a bar down the hill or you can ask the staff to drive you to tourist attraction. However, I would rather sipping wine (free of charge), rest and relax in my house rather than going to mundane Samui down there.

My friend and I decided to take a detour from Bangkok to Koh Samui, and spent some time on Tripadvisor researching different options.

We had never seen such a high rating for a resort - 5 stars, and 17 of 18 perfect ratings - so were drawn to this resort over a better-known property such as the Conrad, W, etc..

The prices were almost as high, however, $330/nt, and the photos looked wonderful, so we were expecting a great experience. It was not a bad experience, however, the 5 star rating on here is misleading, and we wanted other travelers to be aware of our experience:

1. Being picked up at the airport, the driver spoke not a single word of English, so it was awkward understanding what his instructions were (wait for the truck, don't wait for the truck, here's how long it will take, etc).

2. Upon arrival, the hostess (who turned out to be gracious) did not greet us; instead beckoning us to sit down on some nearby sofas. Having been accustomed to incredible Thai service at other places we had stayed, we were surprised by this minor lack of courtesy.

3. Hurried through our "package offers", we were asked what day we wanted our dinner, our massage, and our city tour, without much explanation of either.

4. The resort was completely empty; we really think we were the only people at the entire place. This created an eerie feeling, and not one that you might think would be welcome. We felt that perhaps we were the suckers, because...

5. The electricity went off, inexplicably, at 2am on the night of our stay. The room got hot quickly in the summer heat, and there were no lights, emergency or otherwise. Just a hot, completely dark room on the edge of a completely dark resort with no one else staying there. Very eerie, and the electricity never did come back on, even up till we left at 9am.

6. The meal we were served was lackluster; actually quite poor for a high end resort. Stale bread, pre-frozen beef, packaged orange juice; the whole thing was really disappointing, and we would not have opted to eat any other meals at the resort had we stayed (and the electricity had not gone out).

7. Mosquitos were awful; we were bit several times. I realize this is an island-wide problem.

8. Initially, we felt the staff was not receptive to our concerns about the electricity being cut off. Eventually, the main hostess resolved our issues and refunded the last three days of our stay after we decided to leave, but it wasn't as easy as it should have been, given our grave discomfort the night prior. The staff should work on customer service; it does not hold a candle to the service you'd expect from similarly expensive properties elsewhere.

9. The gym was "not finished" and was not available. Similarly, we could see that most of the guest rooms had not been finished. This is clearly a "busted" development that probably went through foreclosure and is being gradually revived. Unfortunately, it has that feel to it.

10. You are nowhere near the beach. Nowhere near it. 20 minutes drive, minimum, to a decent beach.

Long story short, this stay did not in any way meet expectations. Had it been for a friendlier experience with the staff, we may have given it three stars, despite the electricity issue.

But it is important that would-be guests to this hotel be made aware that the glowing reviews do NOT reflect our stay at the property.

Dear readers of this review

We are and have been fortunately blessed by good comments on Trip Advisor. Let me assure all readers our ratings are well deserved hence the couple stay as he display it here is not the correct picture of Infinity Samui

He mentions $330/night, as if it was for the room only. Please note that for this price (4 night romantic discovery package ) we include; Breakfast, romantic dinner, choice of Swedish massage or Thai massage for the two of them, 1 bottle of white and 1 bottle of red wine, daily fruit platter and a private Samui discovery tour.

1. Regarding the Air Port pick up, we use one driver who doesn’t speak much English, correct. But also one guest relation staff to pick them up who speaks English.

2, 3. Regarding the check in, our receptionist apologizes dearly if they didn’t find her courtesy to be to perfection. May I note that this is the first complaint she has ever got here.

4. We have only 20 units open though the hotel is brand new and soft opening. Shortly we will have all 47 open. All our guests during soft opening have got extra attentions and really enjoyed it as you can read from the previous reviews.

5. The electricity went off unfortunately and our new generators had not arrived. We are extremely sorry for this and a have offered the couple a whole week full board complimentary stay for this unfortunate incident. Rest assure this issue is now resolved.

6. We have review the comment about our food and asked all our guests personally after their meals since if everything was satisfactory. All our guests are delighted with the food and rest assures we use fresh products only.

7. Mosquitoes are not a big problem in our resort at all. If they got bitten on other parts of the island they shouldn’t associate it directly with their stay with us.

8. We understand his discomfort with the electricity but I feel it may be some other underlying reasons for his urgent departure. Certainly we reimbursed them right away and have also offered one whole week full board complimentary stay.

9. He never mentioned to our staff that he where looking for the gym, if he did they would have followed procedure as we are soft opening the gym is not really ready but we offer other options in nearby 5 start properties.

We are one of the most exciting and exclusive upcoming properties in Samui and we are all very proud of Infinity. Rests assure that we are no “Busted Development” as he so humorously put it.

10. We are overlooking the ocean and the sister islands with the most amazing view, our concept “Infinity 180 degrees pool view for every guest” is meant to be on the hill. I believe by looking at our pictures on our website, Trip Advisor readers can make out by them self that we are only 3 min away from the beach. We send all our guests up and down our hill all the time and it’s no dispute about the 3 min.

Thank you for reading our response and welcome to Infinity Samui

I had stayed at this place for 2 nights on my business trip with my partner on Koh Samui and it was such a wonderful time for both of us. we got upgraded to the Penthouse, so we decided to invited 2 friends to join us because the room was HUGE with 4 beautiful bedrooms and a very big living room and a dining room with fully equipped kitchen, and definitely, a long private pool in front of the patio. the staffs were very friendly, especially, the girl at the frontdesk who fulfilled all our requests which were car rental, private bbq party at our patio, restaurant booking, etc. Have I mentioned about the food here? the breakfast was better than standard. the lunch set was unexpectedly delish!! and our bbq party was amazing both the food and the service. there were 4 of us and we were served by 2 chefs and 1 waitress. I wish we could stay longer but have Lady Gaga concert to attained. Anyway, we plan to go there again very soon for our next vacation at koh samui!! :)

This is the place that we definitely want to stay over a month, unluckily, we couldn't :p

When we arrvied infinity, they bring us to site check the 2 types of room (duplex vs suite room), as they have upgraded us to a suite room. Ofcox, finally we did choose a 1-floor suite room instead of 2-floor one.

The real scenery is 90% match with the pic that we preview in the web site, the decoration is very nice and contempory. The staff and service is very nice, too.

The view is amazing which could look around the big sea down the mountains. Sounds like we are the top of the world, haha!

They offer us a free dinner (1 night), the food quality is excellent which is a tasting menu (except the steak is a bit over-cooked). Like the chocolate mosse most! The atmosphere is very romantic there.

Nice mini-bar provided! We can enjoy all the soft drinks there!

The only defect of infinity:

- Have some "black bee" at night outside the balcony; donno y =.=
- locate at top of the hill which we can only use their hotel car (charge $600 two way) to other place (e.g. fisherman village)
- suddenly no electricity at 7am-9am at the 1 day

Overall, we enjoy the stay here and hope to get there again in the future!

I was in Koh Samui on a business trip with my mother and we had stayed at The W before this, however, the 2 cannot compare. The relaxed and very friendly atmosphere at Infinity alone is something I would go back for.

John and Aum were incredibly helpful and friendly and we absolutely loved our stay at Infinity.

The views are incredible from your very own pool. As it is set so high up on a hill, it is wonderfully quiet and a great place to go if you are looking to get away.

The views from the restaurant were incredible and the food was excellent.

Definitely one to check out when you are next in Koh Samui.
