We stayed here after a disastrous hotel booking in Chaweng. Took bikes for a run and found this place. Shangrilah have an older section of villas which look to be pretty rundown. We booked into one of the brand new villas and found them to be very clean, (really hard beds), great showers, no coffee making facilities, metres to the beach and a great massage service.
We only had dinner here once (it was ok) breakfast was fine and there are a lot of little restaurants around to try.
The service is a bit hit and miss but honestly this isn't unheard of in Thailand!!!
We really enjoyed our stay here and our friends daughter and her friend stayed here on our recommendation and also enjoyed their stay.
The new bungalows are about 1500 bht a night and I would only stay here if this was the accommodation I was getting.
Overall, we would stay here again.
A note to travellers: If at some stage during your stay in Thailand, be warned about using the Lomprayah Catamaran transfer service. Whilst the Catamaran itself is ok, there seems to be huge problems with transfers associated with this company. Twice we were ripped off with transfers either not turning up or not what they were advertised to be. Book your transfers separately - do it yourself! If there is a mix up they don't care as they have already been paid and they will not refund!!! Judging by the large amount of travellers stranded in their depots, we were not alone. Beware!
