“All round great family location”

The house is really spacious and comfortable. 3 good sized bedrooms, each with an en suite. The living areas are well laid out, and the pool is excellent. Nadur is a quiet town with really good local amenities (pizzas, groceries, pub with football, beautiful church, promenade with wonderful views). It's close to the harbour, and an ideal base for exploring the island. Victoria (Rabat) is just a few miles away. There are a lot of buses; we hired a car which was handy. Raymond is a great host: helpful, friendly and welcoming. I travelled with my wife and two daughters, and we had a really good holiday - could not have asked for more. We found something to do every day from shops to historic sites, coastal walks and beaches, and lots of very good restaurants (mostly reasonably priced). I'm looking forward to going back.

Great families make great holidays. Nadur and Gozo also add to the fun and relaxation. It is so fantastic to have guests who have planned their break, thank you.

“well-equipped, spacious, clean, good location”

We (family of 4 with a 7 year old and 4 year old) had an excellent holiday. Raymond was an excellent host and easy to contact. The house was spacious, well-equipped and clean. We combined self-catering with eating out which worked well. We enjoyed the pool however as we expected it was a little chilly for our youngest child due to the time of year but that didn't stop our 7 year old.

Nadur is small but with bars, restaurants and small supermarkets and other shops. Gozo is quiet and there aren't masses of 'sights' but there was enough to amuse us. We particularly liked the Citadella at Victoria/Rabat, the Ggantija temples and Gozo Glass at the Craft Village. We also went on day trips to Malta to see Valletta, Mdina and the excellent Aquarium. It helped to have a hire car rather than wait for buses in the sun with small children but I am sure buses would be fine for adults. We weren't overly impressed with the Blue Lagoon on Comino but the kids loved the excitement of the boat trip (very choppy sea that day). We were blessed with 26-28 degrees C most days and the sea was warm and clear. The beach at Ramla Bay was excellent, sandy and safe.

Our daughter loved it so much she wants us to 'start a new life in Gozo'! I am not quite ready for that, but I would be happy to return particularly if we get into snorkelling or diving in future and Ta Kolina is a perfect retreat. Only downside was that we all got bitten by mosquitoes despite deet.

“Relaxing home from home accommodation!”

We stayed for one week in Ta Kolina in Nadur at the beginning of July. The property was amazing. it is located just off the square in the village of Nadur. We stayed with another couple and had a really relaxing holiday. Each day melted into the next! The property had everything that you would want. The owner Raymond was great to deal with and so helpful from our first enquiry right through to the day we left. We had a late flight and Raymond arranged an apartment where we could store our luggage so that we could enjoy our last day in Gozo without having to drag luggage around with us. We arrived to a welcome pack of water, milk and bread which was so nice as we arrived in the early hours of the morning. We did not have a car but travelled around the island by bus. I would highly recommend the villa for those wanting a relaxing break. The locals were very friendly and there is a market every Wednesday morning in the square. Thank you Raymond and Marianne for our stay in your lovely villa!

Liked best: Having a private pool was lovely. Each of the four bedrooms had ensuite facilities. There was a separate toilet and shower beside the pool. There was a barbecue table and chairs for outside dining.

“outstanding villa in a truly lovely village location”
Reviewed September 10, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed in Ta Kolina, 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 3. This was our first trip to Gozo and first trip abroad as a family. We were advised to go to Gozo as we wanted a restful break that would provide family interests and activities whilst avoiding tourist trappings.
We were well advised. The island provides the right balance, there are plenty of things to do as a family with young kids. We took the kids to visit the many different beaches including a boat trip to blue lagoon. We visited Victoria and shopped locally. We were mainly impressed by the friendliness of the local people, they went out of their way to chat with us and even invited us to stay and chat when just buying at the local shops!
The villa itself is quite outstanding. Our parents visit the maltese area regularly and had selected this villa after much research. Their efforts were much appreciated when we actually stayed there for a week. The villa is sublime, on the outside it appears a regular/ traditional block house but when you step inside the front door you enter a small piece of history, style and taste. The main hall has a grand feel, and you then follow through to a very comfortable lounge with a fabulous kitchen off and the grand finale being the pool. The quality of the fittings was impressive even down to the cutlery.

We could talk at length about the pool but will just say, it's a very comfortable size for a large group, the temp was just perfect,(the 2 kids learned to swim during the week) and was VERY tastefully arranged. There's an outside chiminea bbq, outside toilet(saved trailing wet people through the house and a covered eating area. Our relatives visited during the period and we were more than comfortable with the amenities available to our party of 4 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen has an abundance of utensils/crockery/pans etc...all of superior quality.
The house is laid out mainly over 2 levels, living area on the ground floor and beautiful bedrooms with en suite bathrooms on the first floor. The floor above provides roof space with broad views of the island and access to a drying area for laundry.
All in all, this villa was way beyond what we thought we we get for the price we paid by comparison to other properties on this site. We definitely want to return if Raymond will have us.
Raymond, the owner, provided us with access arrangements, maps and excellent communication standards before we arrived. He is a true gentleman in the old fashioned sense of the word. A rare and welcome quality
The village location Nadur is also wonderful. It's got enough going on if you want to stay locally as well as well sign posted roads if you want to travel further afield.
If you're reading this looking for a villa i'd have to say that you couldn't go wrong with Ta Kolina

“Fantastic place, hidden gem!!!”
Reviewed August 15, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Ta Kolina ticks all the right boxes, the pictures don't do it justice, its a hidden gem down a side street, its in a great location for travelling round the island plus lovely restaurants and bars on your doorstep. You cant miss going to Rabokk's, Peter will make you feel very welcome along with all the other locals. Gozo is such a friendly Island and ideal to get around either by car or by bus. The owner of Ta Kolina Raymond is also a gem, great correspondence before travelling and even sorting out the hire car. He will come and visit you too, its always nice to put a face to the name. Ta Kolina was lovely and clean and had everything you needed, its was great lying by the pool each day. Even the church bells and the cockerel became part of the holiday! Would also recommend going to Al Capones for a meal, lovely food. Take a trip with Ozzie 1 round Comino, great afternoon spent jumping in the clear blue sea. And if you go across to Malta use the hop on hop off bus great way to see the Island. Would definitely recommend Ta Kolina to anyone but not too many for when we want to go back!
