“Great SPA, poor hotel, inconsistent service quality”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

It was a weekend stay. We have been the clients of the SPA center for several years now. The SPA center (with one exceptions regarding the negative attitude of one of the receptionists, once) remains a very nice place with good quality service and quite diverse high quality treatments. The hotel restaurant was also known to us since we visit Neptun every year. The service quality was always above average with the head waiter being an excellent host and an example for others. The hotel on the other hand was disappointing. First of all, the size of the rooms is quite small and on top of that, the towels looked very old and not so clean. Since the SPA center is the main attraction of the hotel you would expect bathrobes and slippers but in spite of its announced 4 stars we did not find any. The room amenities are not that of a four star hotel either. Our biggest surprise was that the hotel reception staff attitude was firs of all in contrast with what we were used to in the restaurant and in the SPA. It wasn't rude either, but just good enough to change your mood in a negative way. We won't come back as hotel guests, but will keep the restaurant and the SPA as favorite places in Neptun.

Deffinitely not a 4 star hotel. Small rooms, old TV and very unconfortable position to look at, staff far from being helpful, old and very worn towels, without bathrobe and slippers although it is a hotel with spa, poor breakfast and the same food every morning. I will not come back ever !

First of all, please don't expect the 4star Radisson or any other 4star Western style hotel. It's a 4star Turkish style rating (in my opinion at least). I have to say that I've not stayed at any other Romanian seaside resorts in the past 12 years, so I can't compare with any other Romanian hotels.

I find the double room pretty small, although very clean. The paint on the balcony definitely requires another coat! And the carpets need cleaning (very badly stained). The TV is vvv small, luckily I still have great eyesight, so managed to watch some programs. The pool is very clean and it was great seeing staff looking after it every day. The mats on the pool chairs look v aged and it definitely put me off from using them. One can get a free sun lounger at the beach. I found it great initially but the portion of beach allocated to the hotel is rather small and there are lots of people walking past; I preferred not to use them.

The hotel is located v close to the beach, which is fantastic.

The staff look very stern, although all of them were v helpful with all queries.

The sauna and indoor pool are not included in the price of the room (I must have read the information on the website incorrectly).

I only had breakfast as part of my package, which I found very varried and good value.

Overall, I think that for a foreign guest (earning 3-4 times the average Romanian salary), the hotel is great value for money. For a Romanian guest, however, I feel that the hotel is overpriced and the rating doesn't really give you the 'quality' feel.

The hotel is relativelly clean. However I cannot avoid to remeber old communist hotels, especially when I entered the restaurant at lunch time. The whole restaurant was smelling like a kitchen maybe because the ventilation system was not working well or was not in place.
Rooms are relativelly small ,but clean .Maybe they should think to chenge the TV set because now they have a very small and very old TV in the room. Rooms situated at the ground level must be avoided because you cannot leave any window open,at least on the side which faces the street ,because thereis a real danger to have a thief entering your room.
Pool area is nice but the pool is small and sunbeds are not enough.
The bar is good and we all apreciated the opening hours till very late in the night.
Conferencerooms are good.

Room Tip: Avoid ground level roms

the hotel has a really nice reception area. it has 2 pool, one of which is for kids, a playing ground and entertainment including video games for kids. the pool area has long chairs and umbrellas but also a patio from the hotel's bar (the prices are somewhat high)
the rooms have AC, but not a performing one. a well stacked minibar with prices comparable to the ones in the rest of the resort. it is clean and nicely furnished and there are a safe and a blow dryer. the downside is the rooms are small (at least in building B), this means that if you have to medium sized trollers, unless you can empty them in the relatively small wardrobe provided, and put them one inside the other you will probably end up jumping over it to get from one end to the other of the room.bed sheets are clean. the towels had a weird smell...but they got changed daily. one day the maids skipped us, but as soon as i reminded someone at the front desk, problem got solved. generally speaking the staff was very helpful and nice.
outside the hotel there is a parking lot. the hotel also has a beach with long chairs...somewhat further from the hotel. the number is limited, the beach is clean, but narrow. umbrellas are 10 ron/day.
we had breakfast included. it was rich, extremely varied and fresh.
there is also a spa in the hotel, but i have not tried it.

Clean rooms, nice lobby, great cocktails at the pool bar, good prices. The breakfast is ok for a 4 stars. Normal Double/Twin rooms are way too small for a 4 stars hotel. I would recommend you to take the suites. The pool area is just beautiful even at night when you can drink a cocktail at the light of the candles and beside the nice illuminated pool. Also the parking is a bit too small and is hard to park but it's free of charge so I think it is ok.

We went here for a conference, followed by a short holiday. Rooms are unfortunately small, beds, hard, TV`s very small, glasses, already shivered. Some hair on the floor of the bathroom... Though there is a small balcony (ours with a view to the pool), AC working just fine and very helpful staff. We ate all 3 meals in the hotel and here I have to give the highest mark: excellent dishes, with plenty of salads and also cooked dishes. And a tasty red wine. The sea is close enough and here there are deck chairs reserved for the clients of the hotel. For the "connaisseures" of the Romanian Seaside, the hotel is located near the Olimp resort and the sea is crystal clear in this area. Beach also not very crowded, especially if you choose to go a little bit to the left, where some areas are really deserted.
Don`t know anything about the Spa...

Room Tip: Better and more quiet rooms at 2 or 3 floors.
