Beautiful hotel deserves 5 stars unfortunately service and luke warm food let it down.
Also not the best for room service we were there 6 days before beds changed then i had to strip them myself.
Found check in desk manager like Basil Faulty without the humour who needs lessons in customer service.
No fresh fruit juices only orange if you paid for it.

Room Tip: Book at another Hotel

13-20/9/11 room 1709 - Petra Buelens

booked this hotel as last-minute and have had really great value for money.
area is very calm but only 10min. away with dolmus from (very alive) citycenter

room
is more than spacious, brand new and very clean. Bed is top quality, never seen in holiday resorts in Turkey before. Decoration is sober (warm natural colours) and upgrades the interiour from a 'standard' tourist hotel to a more stylish one.
All rooms have frontal seaside view and a large balcony which assures beautiful sunset views!

housekeeping
On our floor no problems with housekeeping, fresh towels and sheets without having to ask or bribe!

F&B
in our opinion food was great with a lot of choice between hot & cold dishes.
Staff should be added in the restauration area's because although all staffmembers are running around all the time (and working their ... off) it feels like understaffed and unfortunately service suffers from it ...

pool area
more than enough sunbeds with matresses, wide choice between shadow or sunny area's

reception staff
is very friendly and helpfull but some of them do not have a good understanding of English and for a 5* property that is something that needs extra attention!

BEST SCORE and real added value to this hotel is without any doubt the SPA!!!!
our goal was to have a relaxing beach holiday and we had high expectations of the SPA.
Hamman, sauna, steam bad all FOC, very clean, nicely decorated, mood lightening and music to get completely relaxed. Treatments are great and done with care. Staff is really professional, speaks several languages and have the positive and discrete attitude you should expect from a SPA center. I came in with headaches & blocked shoulder/neck and came out with renewed energy and feeling like reborn ! Thank you Redwan :-))!
Discuss all possibile packages and treatments with Enver (he is very helpfull).

I will recommend the hotel among my friends & family and would return for another week immediately!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor, as from 6, as the view gets better :)! Do get into the SPA area even if it is...

Reviews for the Venosa Beach are quite polarised, some people love it some hate it, as a family of two adults and one 11 yo, we saw both sides of this arguement.
Positives - great setting, fantastic views from all rooms (we were on floor 2 and views excellent). The hotel itself, whilst not to everyones architectural tastes is a very well appointed building. We had a standard room for the three of us, sofa bed for our son, good size and the AC worrked fine. Although we had requested a high floor, we were grateful to be on floor 2 as only four lifts didn't seem enough for the size of the place, we usually walked up and down but on floor 12 that would have been more difficult. The pool is probably the best we have ever experienced, plenty of shade around it which is necessary in the height of the Turkish summer, and there was never a shortage of sun beds, so no hassle on that front.
Negatives - very poor level of service from some (not all staff), for example, when we arrived at the al a carte restaurant we were refused our request to eat on the balcony because it "was too windy" - it wasn't windy at all in the eveing (it had been earlier). Drinks were rarely served to guests in the dining room or in the lobby bar, and we saw a guest refused table service when requested after he saw a fellow guest get table service.
We didn't like the amount of noise all around the pool area and beach, there was no finding any peace and quiet here, which ought to be achievable given the size of the grounds, "Zumba hour" was particularly annoying with 2 sources of music creating a cacophony of sound.

When Ramadan began the hotel became quieter and more pleasant

Generally the food was ok, it got a bit repetitive after two weeks but that was to be expected. Al a carte restaurant not very good but worth a visit for a change. The animation staff (of which there seemed to be many) were friendly and enthusiastic and had activities for adults and kids day long, the adult events were constantly announced and advertised, not so the kids. We suggested they made the kids activities more obvious, our son knew the routine and had friends so was ok, but for new arrivals it might have been difficult to get involved, our suggestion was not acted on. The evening entertainment was to be kind to it, poor. The pool bar was open all evening and we sat there away from the ampitheatre and the evening entertainment. The only exception was the Turkish pop star, Hande Yener for which hudreds of locals came in to see too. Out and about, the Dolmus service outside the hotel to Altinkum, Didum market and water park was excellent - we never waited long for one and it is so cheap. Altinkum is pretty tacky we thought, though did find a decent restarant there.
We brought our gripes to the attention of the hotel and met the general manager who appeared to want to deal with them and also gave the impression the hotel is "work in progress" which it undoubtedly is. We didn't feel there was a shortage of staff but they were poorly directed in many cases.
We would not return, but we usually like to try somewhere different anyway. But neither would we categorise the hotel as the "hell hole" seen in some reviews,

Room Tip: the views are good even on the lower floors so with the scarcity of the lifts are a better option

staff- I picked out 6 really good members of staff, sum were very rude, unhelpful and didnt spk english.
men - the turkish men are (some) very creepy, heard some awful storys frm other english girls that had been touched up by the turkish men.

hotel was beautiful, not very clean thou, no apperance of a hover was seen in 7days!
beware the oj in the morning is 4l and not in the all inclusive - it gets charged to ur room!

I stayed here for one week from Sept the 12th 2011. The hotel stands in its own grounds which are extensive and beautifully laid out. We stayed in a 'French room' which to you and me is a bungalow. This was a bit of a surprise given that I had requested a twin room. However serendipity, the room was less than 60 meters from the sea and away from the main hotel. We immediately realized the advantages of this and turned down an offer to move. The room was spacious with great air con, fridge, nicely decorated and in good condition which you might expect for such a new hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable but the bedding was odd with a single duvet and cover and only with one extra single duvet supplied without a cover. I can quite sympathize with reviewers who tried to tackle the issue of housekeeping which was woeful. I resorted to bribery by paying a few pounds when I wanted the room cleaned /replenished etc. This worked very well and replaced the usual end of week tip.

The dining room was large and airy and when we stayed tables were usually available if not immediately then within a few minutes. The food is Turkish /European so don't expect meat and two veg, use your imagination and try some different combinations, that's why holidays are interesting. Wine is available by the glass as well as soft drinks and a general bar. One good point I found, was that coffee machines supplying very good coffee are working at all meal times, so if you want to stay at your dinner table and have coffee with your sweet course and maybe a brandy you don't have to move anywhere else. Pool areas were very clean and beach areas well kept. Mattresses were supplied with beach beds. Rather than umbrellas there are long shaded structures now quite popular in many hotels and more practical where there is room to move a bed around.

I cannot comment on the entertainment as I didn't use this feature, the theatre itself however looked very well equipped.

Where this hotel stands or falls are the staff. Clearly you cannot get to this point in a review being largely satisfied with things and then condemn the staff in their entirety. There has to be an acknowledgement that most things work, and that this is not just good luck. This hotel is being managed well on some levels. The problem seems to be, as other reviewers have pointed out, that where the staff interface with the public they have not been equipped with the skills required to promote the hotel adequately and in some circumstances are downright rude. It seems a shame that so much hard work is negated at the point at which it could be most beneficial. A hotel lives and dies on its customer service.

To give an example of this let me point out the Spa in this hotel which many reviewers tend to ignore.
The Spa is a joint enterprise with some facilities being hotel managed but the treatments are franchised.
Not only were these excellent value for money and a great way to try something new, but the skills which all the staff from masseurs to managers handled the clients was first class. I would recommend this to anyone who stayed at the hotel. If the hotel staff worked this well together then they would have a top end service.

Room Tip: Try to get a French room if you like privacy and convenience.

stayed for 2 weeks 4th sept to 18th the food most of the time is cold or just warm, and not much variation. in the the restaurant most of the time in the evening when you go sit for the first week there was still dirty plates on the table but in second week this got better. its a shame that in the restaurant they dont wait at your table with drinks. The evening in the lobby bar it was a bit boring but 2 of the bar men were very good compared to the rest of the staff at the hotel. the staff do work very long hours but feel there just isnt enough of them for the size of this hotel. the beach is very gritty not a soft sandy beach as it looks in the pictures. the pancakes are lovely in the tent. i couldnt fault hotel as vry beautiful and kept clean, the area is quite you do need to got into centre if you want something a bit lively my daughter of 25 found hotel boring for her age group. this hotel is right in the sticks there is only about 2 bars nearby so if you want to go out you do need to get a dolmus to the centre. Also if you want a late check out till 6 as we did cos our flight wasnt till midnight they do charge 30 euros per person.

Room Tip: dont worry bout room they all have sea view dont stay in bungalows as a bit out of way

Stayed - September 11-17th 2011 room 2106.

Very clean hotel and good service with food and with a great variation everyday. A few suggestions to improve, there is no tea\coffee\ironing facilities within the rooms which I thought was standard for a 4 star hotel.

Staff - lot's of thanks to the animation team who put in 110% even when there team is understaffed, they kept a smiling face and were very friendly. Special thanks for - Erdal (Bar man), Georgie, Lily, Ola, Jamel and Uzay (nickname "The voice"). Also thanks to Marco (k?) who gave us a great banana boat ride!

Spa - beautiful and great staff who were always smiling and having a laugh, I would recommend a visit, if not 2, because the price was very good!

Beach - nice beach, but it is gravel (very small pieces, so no huge rocks!) - I think this is standard for Turkey?

All in all a good holiday, will come back again if we stay in Didim, Turkey.
