After reading some reviews I must admit to being worried about staying at the park but found it quite a pleasant place. The caravan was clean and enough space for us to chill and sleep at night. Its a great location for exploring the area, can't comment on facilities as we didn't use them all in all we found the park very good and recommend it

we stayed here 4th October and left on 6th, there was 8 adults and we stayed in the buttermere plus, with hot tub. It was brilliant, the tub was nice and hot both nights and the room was clean, it was a total party weekend to be honest. However, if we had of brought the children we would of been disappointed as everything on the complex is boring and the bar has nothing for kids..........but we didnt bring the kids, so we drank and laughed all weekend, thankfully without one complaint from neighbours!

went to solway hol village for a weekend with another couple and our 2 3 year olds. we stayed in a buttermere plus chalet with hot tub. lodge was quite spacious. kitchen had plenty of cutlery, plates pots and pans etc. there was a cooker, kettle, toaster, microwave etc. hot tub was fab. it did say not to use it at night but we did and could here others were too.

we ate in the bar one night and the food was fine, entertainment was typical for a holiday park.....disco, staff dancing, bingo. the kids had a great time dancing. there is pool table and the bar was showin premiership football matches during the day.

we went to the pool which was fab.
the girls played at the soft play which was great. we went on the frog train (which you pay for) and it takes you to the farm which had lots of animals.

the park was clean but as others have said quite dated and in need of a revamp but you get what you pay for.

If you are expecting a 5 star holiday dont book here. We went with an open mind after reading some bad reviews but were quite surprised and did enjoy our weekend there

i am far from a snob or stuck up but i drove 4 hours to get to this holiday village and was very exited about staying here. on arrival it looked ok like the average holiday park in the uk we checked in at reception got our key and went to our chalet with a hot tub. me my husband and 2 year old walked into the chalet and i did not dare put my 2 year old on the floor the was dog muck stains on the carpet! wee stains and fag hole burns on the settees and the setting in the chalet looked like something from a residential care home there were mold around the door and window frames and the carpets looked too small for the chalet as there was a gap all the way round. it didn't look or smell clean so the 4pm check in time due to cleanliness was what i thought a joke! we walked into the bathroom and there was a shower stating the shower may not work due to pressure and instructions on how to get it to work.i wouldn't of put my big toe into the hot tub and i was most definitely not happy i phoned hoseasons who we had booked it with who managed to release our booking and book us some were else which was another 4 hour drive!i would not recommend this place at all!

Room Tip: i personally will not return here
