“ice cream!!!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

It wasn't long after breakfast but the Hadrians Cycleway guidebook recommended The Gincase so we dived in. Very friendly service, excellent range of foods. Mike's ice cream was fantastic and so was my pavlova. Definitely worth a visit. We didn't go to the "farm experience" so can't comment on that.

“Great park *10 but customer service in tea room, not so great .”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

we came down from glasgow for the week , we decided to go on the Wednesday , was a great day for it , animals , the park the indoor and outdoor play area were top marks the two kids (4 and 3) loved every moment as did we , but at the end our trip to the gincase we decided that we would go for an ice cream in the tearoom , we waited at the ice cream booth for over 15 mins there was only a handful of staff members come in and out of the kitchen so we decided to wait without complaint , but as time went on and other elderly people were getting served on the other till and they hadn't been even waiting and the ladies had made eye contract with us , what did they think we were standing there for , i started to make it known we were standing here for a reason , the ice cream stand was right next to the front door and i was hit by the door by a member of staff by this i asked excuse me is this were we have to stand to buy ice cream , she said yes and then served us, that was the only downfall to our trip the rest was wonderful

“the Gincase - don't miss it”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Ideal especially for younger children or any farm animal enthusiast. Run by a very friendly Husband and Wife team. You can hand feed some of the animals if you buy a bag of reasonable feed.
The animals are the best part of it for our family and we got to participate in the kid goat feeding time (seasonal probably!). The Farmer is very friendly and the cafe is a treat. I had my birthday lunch there (all homemade).

Gincase is a little off the beaten track but that's part of the attraction for us, it really is in the countryside. We often stop off at the swings on the way to Mawbray at Allonby. There is now another excellent indoor play area too (ideal in Cumbria) called Crazy Town and it's amazing.

There is a kiosk outside at busier times where you can purchase snacks/icecreams/sandwiches etc. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and of course the best bit - animals. Well recommended.

“Hidden Gem of a place”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

Lived in Cumbria for years, but only discovered this a couple of years back. Rates as my 7 year olds tip top favourite place to go in the holidays! Feed the animals (mind the very friendly goats - they took a particular liking to my cardi!!) Good food, good fun, and a playground and carting - fab
