The water was amazing - swimming every day was worth every penny. Mosquitos were hungry, but it being a wet summer it was expected - they didn't bother us at all on the dock by the water.
The cottage had the cozy cottage feel we were looking for. My 3 year old loved the bunk beds. The nights were so quiet and lovely, and hearing the loons made it even better.
We spent a calm and restful stay with fabulous weather at this comfortable cottage on Whitestone Lake, northeast of Parry Sound. The owner was most helpful prior to our stay and being seasoned cottagers, we were happy to find everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen, bbq, and lakefront shed, complete with fishing rods, 'noodles', life jackets, even a fishing net! There is a nice sandy beach area for younger children or non-swimmers and great diving right off the dock. One of the most pleasant surprises were the professional wildlife photographs in the cottage taken by one of the owners. Wifi at the local library in Dunchurch was perfect when needed, but thankfully, my grown children and I were not tethered to our computers. Cell phone connection worked well. Convenience stores in close proximity, including groceries, LCBO and Kawartha Dairy ice cream!!
