So we were two women (early 30s) traveling alone and we rather enjoyed our stay here. Did a lot of hiking (10km round trip along the beach takes you to a very cool shipwreck and past some stunning vistas) and kayaking and we even took a tour to a nearby rock pool where you can jump off the cliff into the deep water.

Overall we had a great time and the food was lovely! We probably should have done our research a bit though and realised it's family place because there were a lot of kids (not our preference) but in the end it was fine. Mostly we were away from the common areas and the kids seemed to have lots to do so did not make much noise, etc.

One downside was the trip to the rock pool...the trip itself was lovely but they seemed to have waaaay overbooked and so we had to do a lot of waiting for boats and other people and it was a lot of wasted time in my opinion. I think they should structure those better - especially since they said we would be back by noon but we were not back till almost 3pm! And we had to leave that day to reach elsewhere by nightfall! Be sure to ask if you go on the guided trips how many people are coming with you.....

Otherwise a good value for money place and we enjoyed it!

We spent three nights at Trennerys in December having last visited more than 20 years ago. The hotel still has its old charm and is in a beautiful location an is easily accessible via the ferry over the kei river. We were very impressed with the food and service and were unfortunately not around for the seafood dinner on Saturday. We found the room very basic although comfortable. Definitely will be returning for a longer break.

We arrived at Trennerys after walking from the Nxaxo river, and were very pleased with the welcome, the room and the entire hotel. We stayed on a Saturday night when they serve an excellent seafood buffet. Breakfast really good, and the bar was really lively and great fun. Overall a fabulous weekend destination.

Spent a weekend at Trennery's Hotel and the most amazing time. There are so many activities for adults and children a like. All the staff and Management are so welcoming and cater to your every need. The rooms are stunning and the food is most delicious especially the sea food buffet on a Saturday evening. Had the most memorable experience and will definitely be returning soon.

I had to Photograph a wedding in Morgans Bay on Saturday, so we decided to head through to Trennerys Hotel in Kei Mouth to stay over for the Friday.
Entering Trennerys, I felt like I was seeing an oasis in the middle of a desert.....
There was such a fantastic vibe on the Friday Night at Trennerys and the staff were amazing, they treated us like family. I will definitely be back without hesitation - this time for a much longer stay.
I can't wait to bring my kids here for a holiday....

This was our first time at Trennery's. In the heart of the Transkei it really is a great place to relax and unwind. The accommodation is simple yet comfortable ( the massive bed was awsome! ). 5 star luxury it isn't but then again you ARE in the Transkei and want that rustic experience. The food is excellent, especially the seafood extravaganza, the staff really do put on a good spread. The grounds are in fantastic shape and there are numerous activities indoors and out to keep one busy and afterwards to relax next to the pool with an ice cold beer with the sound of the sea at your doorstep. Some of the most immaculate coastline in our country ( the hike to the Jacaranda wreck was also a highlight ). The ever-friendly staff made our stay an absolute pleasure. We will be making this resort our Transkei number one in future. Do yourself a favour and stop over when looking for accommodation on the Wild Coast.

Room Tip: This is a big family resort so if it's peace and quiet you are looking for ask for a room away f...
