“Worth spending on the truffle menu to get the taste of the region”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We had heard about the menu here that has truffles with every course and decided to splash out as we were most likely never to have this opportunity again. It was €110 each so definitely not cheap, but it was so worth it. We had 6 courses, each one containing that delicate and subtle flavour of the truffle, course sizes were not large and we managed to eat our way through all of them. THe liver served on an apple base with truffle sauce and the scallops were the outstanding dishes for us, but every course was different and incredibly tasty. We drank wine recommended by our wonderful waiter and have to say that all in all this was one of our best meals ever. It will certainly go down in family folklore. I would recommend if you are only going to be passing here once that you stop and splash out, its well worth it and you won't be sorry.

“Good, but not excellent”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

We went to this place because we were told that it is a place to taste truffles, but we ended up without testing them. We went for lunch and opted for the €46 menu and the only dish with truffles there was omelet which we decided to skip. The only way to taste truffles - is to have their 110€ menu which we felt is too expensive for us for lunch.
The food and wine were good, presentation of dishes was excellent and service was very friendly and impressible, but we were not sure that we made a right choice. We thought that for the price we paid we had much better and interesting meals in France. I had "Trilogie de Bar, St Jacques, Gambas sur sa râpée de Légumes" for the plate - it was good, but I had literally 1 shrimp, couple of scallops and small piece of fish, my husband had "Tournedos de filet de bœuf" - and it was just OK - didn't worth the money. Desserts were very good.

“Amazing”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Probably our best meal in France!! Seven Australians, completely overwhelmed with the food and service, with the surprise additional courses during our set-price menu and the French experience. The soufflé desserts were amazing, and one of our group sought advice on the recipe, only to be given a copy of the recipe in French. I was handed a complete and original menu as I left, and a final goodbye and thanks from the maitre-d. who explained that her joy was to serve local produce to appreciative diners.......how successful!!

“What a find!”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We booked La Truffe because our favourite restaurant in the area was shut. Friends who live locally thought we would enjoy it. How right they were!
We went for the €46 menu with the wine supplement option. What a meal! There were 4 of us and all agreed that it was outstanding. The wine chosen for each dish of each course was spot on. The highlight of the meal was the grand mariner soufflé, flambéd and served with champagne.
Next year, if we are invited we will certainly put it top of our 'not to miss' list.

“Can't wait to go back!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

We went there last night, a group of 7, a mixture of 5 adults, one child and one teen. There was enough to suit all. My son, who is 10, had the 15,50 menu with which he had the salmon starter and lamb main. Both were amazing. I went a la carte and had no starter and a main of aiguillettes of duck. This was the best duck I have ever had. Three of the party chose a salmon main on the 25,50 menu and none were impressed. All said, however, that it was a bad choice rather than bad cooking etc.

Monsieur welcomed us with handshakes and spoke to us in english, although we always try our best to reply in french! Waitress was lovely and extremely attentive but not over the top.

This is a quality place that we will definitely be returning to this holiday.
