“Good stay!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

The road leading to the farm is not very good BUT as soon as you get there it is the most beautiful place you have ever seen. The people are friendly and in all my travels and in all the places I have stayed this is the cleanest place ever!! I enjoyed the monkeys playfulness and the vistas.... just breathtaking.

A really good place to stay!!

Because of all the positive evaluations we booked Tannenhof. We drove a long way on an unpaved road to get there. It was literally in the middle of nowhere. Then we saw the hosts. We didn't feel comfortable. As it was a scary place with scary people, we paid the fee and left the place. Glad for us!

We were charmed by our short stay here. It's not for travelers who want luxurious, hotel-style accommodations -- the cabins are rustic, the furniture is retro/eclectic, and the road to the farm is full of potholes -- but you couldn't ask for a more relaxed atmosphere or friendlier, more helpful hosts. The setting is lovely and the home-cooked breakfast was outstanding. And the cost was about half of what we paid at more upscale (but not more comfortable) b&b's during our trip.

We spent two nights there and we love it! Honestly we experienced other B&Bs with a higher price range and more stars in SA but not as good as this one. Nicky and Peter, the hosts, have managed and maintained this place in top condition. The wooden hut is simple, cosy, and truly spotless. The common kitchen contains all the utensils and everything is arranged very tidily. The surroundings is very quiet and beautiful. One evening we enjoyed sunset on the terrace and looking at millions of stars above us when the night falls. Nicky loves animals and there are a few dogs, cats and a donkey in the farm. We had Nicky-made muffins and yogurt - very delicious - in addition to English breakfast. Nicky and Peter are very warm, kind and hospitable. During our stay, Peter got problems with his eyes but they still welcomed and accommodated us. We hope that Peter will recover very soon and things are back to normal again so that they would continue running this beautiful guesthouse. We highly recommend this place without any reserve.

It's a really nice, silent place in Tannenhof. We enjoyed the nature, the nice blockhouse, the well looked after garden and the care of the very hearty owner couple. Nicky and Peter are so powerful, open minded and also friendly from the bottom of their heart. For us they gave a good guideline how we will do when we are old.
Our conclusion: You get very much for your money at Tannenhof, not only in physical things!

We stayed here for two nights and it was wonderful. It's extremely affordable and the rooms are perfectly spotless, well decorated and have everything you need (tea, water, etc.)

The hosts are lovely and go to great lengths to make sure you have a great time. They're there to help you with directions, recommendations, advice, etc. or just a general chat. The service really can't be commended enough - I hand-washed some clothes and hung them up to dry and when I came back that night, they were very neatly folded for me - it was totally unnecessary, but so, so appreciated and such a nice touch!

They have lots of adorable pets running around as well, which was great!

I would definitely recommend this place. It's a little out the way, but nothing too inconvenient (about 5 minutes from Storms River village) and it's a gorgeous little spot. The village (where you can eat, get spa treatments, etc.) is very nearby, as are the Otter Trail and suspension bridge (about 15 minutes' drive) and Big Tree (about 5 minutes drive).

If you do stay here (and you should), make sure you know exactly where you're going as it can be a bit tricky to find - and make sure to bring some wine (although they'll sell you a bottle for a very, very fair price).

These beautiful cottages with spotless cleaning are a perfect place to watch the stars on a clear night or listen to the different animals surrounding you. The service is perfect with hosts are really friendly and take care of YOU! Breakfast is delicious with homemade Greek yogurt and banana muffins!
