Stayed private room with ensuite. Spacious, good bed and great bathroom. Towel and standard hotel toiletries supplied. More like a hotel room than backpackers. Terrace outside the room with table and chair setting, looking over the front lawn with n/easterly aspect; nice way to start the day and watch the sun come up. Best standard of private room (size, comfort and cleanliness) of all the backpackers I stayed in Africa. Comfortable dining area offering hearty home-style and delicious meals for purchase. Open-plan bar with pool tables. Opens to an outside dug-out fire pit in-the-round, which is a great setup to meet people. No wifi, but free internet on in-house computers. Walking distance to the quaint little town (quite quiet) and to the tree canopy tour (do it, loved it). Tube N Axe organised transfers to and from the National Park to do the start of the Ottter Trail, which leads to the first waterfall (do it, spectacular coastline walk) and later, to the second highest bungee jump in the world (do it, has to be the best-view bungee in the world!). First transfer to wherever you want to go is free, small fees apply thereafter. An interesting cross-section of people when I stayed, from: long-stayers and solo-travellers to larger numbers in study groups. A great team here from Suki, Cece and Moses through to Marius, the owner (with his very big dog), who shared a wealth of informed suggestions of where to go, stay, and what to do next. Travelled here on the Baz Bus, which dropped me off and picked me up at the door.

Its like being part of a big family. Beautiful rooms, wonderful atmosphere and great people. Situated in a wonderful position close to all the attractions in Tsitsikamma.
Rooms are clean and great worth and value for money. Definitely will be popping in again for a visit.

Stayed here for one night in a dorm.

Pros
- beds are beautiful with clean sheets and individual reading lights. Very comfortable!
- can lock your items in the drawers beneath the beds
- 2 showers inside of the dorms - great so you don't have to share with other rooms
- helpful and friendly staff
- exterior is beautiful and relaxing
- secure parking

Cons
- didn't have dinner service while I was there
- not sure if I would stay here again. Didn't have the vibe I was looking for.

The place has a great potential, the surroundings are excellent and beautiful. But most of the staff was unhelpful and unprofessional. Poor, poor information about trips and things to do in the area. We were tempted to stay 3 nights (pay 2 night, get 3rd for free), but left after 2 nights. If you do not have your own car, shuttles from the hostel is very expensive.

We brought out own food, because there is only a small supermarket and not a lot of restaurants in the village. Unfortunately the kitchen was disgusting, with left overs from weeks and not single clean pot or pan to use. Must of the mess was from the staff themselves.

Charles, was a great member of the staff, professional, helpful and friendly. The Black Water Tubing that he organizes is great and the crew gives you a nice experience.
