“A perfect pick!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2010

We extended our stay here, even though we didn't have the time for it, but it was too good to leave. HAmmocks, fireplace, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff living for the place and "making" what it is. We went on a horseride with Bradley (the owner), who took time to explain everything, helped spotting animals and just made you feel at home. It was beyond description! If I think of a perfect place, its here! Hope to be back at some point of my life! We are thankful for the great we had here! All the best, Susi and Peter from Munich.

We initially planned to stay 2 nights at this backpackers with my boyfriend and another friend but had to leave the place after one night.
The staff showed no comprehension regarding one reservation change while we had phoned in advance to advise.
Then then wanted to make us pay for services we didn't even asked for like the jacuzzi. Rooms clean but bad shower and music and party up to late hours at night , very bad if you want to rest. The owner will eventually attend you if he stops speacking over the phone because you know, he is soo busy.
So, maybe okay if you are a bunch of teenager looking for fun, the rest you can stay just next door, there is plenty of backpackers in the village.

This is such a cool place to stay! The location is totally beautiful, the staff are fantastic and the rooms were pretty damn cool too! We had some great drinking sessions in the bar with other travellers and the staff! It's near to the Bloukrans bungee too if that's your thing! Highly recommend this place!

We stayed at many hostels on our trip but Dijembe was one of the best. .These people know how to be kind and friendly .They personally shuttle you to activities.National Park was great hikting..
Hot showers were good and strong. The water is fresh mountain water .The dinner was very very good . The bar is good and allows many options. The dorms are spacious and comfortable.
The fresh water upen deck jacuzzi is nice.
Israelis should come to Dijembe and ask Brad to make caffe shahor.

Okay Dijembe is special. There is just something about it that grips you - HOWEVER - as a female & regular traveller , some time needs to be spent on the following: 1) Staff - & general manners & how to deal with PAYING guests (Ie , not to be on their phones , answering - Whatever - when you ask them a questoin!) 2) Clean the place up a bit, YES Rustic is nice, but really - some few home improvements would go a long way!!!

Other than that the owner is but a typical male, but interesting stories and yes he eats everything with his fingers - i think he said Tarzan was his name.
