we had a fantastic stay at eden bungalows, the french couple and their thai staff particularly joy and poy(?) were very friendly and spoke good english, the bungalows and rooms were very clean and decorated with taste, the garden, although small, was peaceful and green and the pool inviting, the café/restaurant had good thai food and a variety of good breakfasts at good prices - we found everyone very helpful too and happy to advise you on things to see or what needed organising etc, in all a really good stay and we would happily return at any time

I booked a single night at the Eden as my first stop on a 30 day journey.
I ended up staying there the entire time.
Eden Bungalows is run by a French couple (Gérald and Lydia) supported by a very nice and helpful Thai staff.
They will make you feel straight at home !
Do not be afraid of not being French (like some reviewers are saying) as the speak fluent English and they will always be there to help you out, to answer any questions you may have about Koh Samui !
The rooms are not pre-formatted like what you can find when staying in big hotel chains.
They are very charming with all the required accomodations you need in Samui (A/C, Fan, Fridge/Mini Bar, Shower, etc..)
The pool is good enough but who needs a pool when you're on a tropical island
The hotel sits at the end of Fisherman Village and is near everything!

One thing is true is that the beach at Bophut isn't the best in Samui.
You will find better (and busier) beaches just a few miles away and they are all within a motorbike ride :) (you have got to rent a bike :) )

If you're a Diver...you will find one of Samui's best dive club right next door (Bophut Diving School)

The Eden Bungalows is a perfect place for all ages...from 7 to 77!
I cannot wait to be back.

I stayed here together with my girlfriend for 5 nights. The guesthouse is located in Fisherman’s Village which is a nice authentic village offering nice and good restaurants, easy going strand bars and other shops. This village is not (yet) affected by the party people and mass tourism like in Chaweng beach and in smaller proportions in Lamei Beach. Our bungalow (with AC) was clean, very spacious and more than satisfying to us, it was very nice decorated with dark teak furniture including a TV, safe and small wardrobe. The patio is very cosy and offered very comfortable and relaxed moments. The king size bed was very comfortable as well and the bathroom is clean and douche and toilet are separated by a small wall (which is quite unique in Thai guesthouses). Our bungalow was cleaned every day and the free Wifi signal was strong enough to reach our bungalow. The only disadvantage is that the ceiling of the bathroom leaves some space for creepy creatures to enter the bathroom...
Since we were in the unique position to be the only guest at the complex (June 2011) we could use the swimming pool for us alone. Probably because of the low season the French owners were not present during our stay but the Thai employees were helpful and friendly to us.
Since Bophut offers very good restaurants we have had only breakfast at Eden which I highly recommend to everyone. The beach, a 1 minute walk, at Bophut is perfectly fine for swimming and relaxing, furthermore its very quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend Bo phut and Eden to my friends and definitely return here once a day.

We stayed here for a week in May 2011. It is a bit of a garden of Eden, set in sub-tropical gardens , Koi pond & a nice pool. The location is great, right in the middle of Fisherman's village but really quiet at night - ideal.
The rooms are good value for money, we opted for adjoining room with aircon as there were so few people in the Eden we thought we would not be troubled by noisy neighbours. Some of the rooms with patio style doors look like they may have been forced so keep your valuables in the safe provided.
Good Points:
The location - right in the middle of the village but quiet.
Food is excellent although there are so many local places to chose from we didnt eat that much in the Eden.
Very nice pool (although Jacussi seemed to be broken).
Negatives:
The aircon units are not up to the job in the rooms - stop you boiling at night but never really get you cool.
The pool is nice but at times it is invaded by the children of the owners plus friends at which point you feel you are not welcome & leave - not really what you expect as guests.
The staff and owners are quite distant, not exactly friendly which is strange as during our stay there were so few people staying they did not really have much to do.
