Great location away from hustle and bustle of Chaweng

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 13, 2012
Stayed here 3 nights in an air conditioned bungalow. The rooms and grounds were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. It's right on the beach with a restaurant and bar facing it. We ended up eating at the restaurant most of the time because we found that the food was surprisingly better there than some of the restaurants we ate at Chaweng. Wifi only works in the restaurant area.

My only complaint was that there was a sign posted in our bungalow stating not to bring in food to reduce ants and pests and also we would be charged for bringing outside drinks to the beachfront/restaurant area. Also, there were two dogs (not sure if strays or the owners) that would lounge around the restaurant area. It was kind of distracting and unsanitary if you think about it to, to be eating breakfast and having a dog sitting next to you begging for a handout.

Located right on the beach it has large fan room and 3 aircon bungalows. Leaves are swept up every morning . Has a great chef EGG. Massage availible. Located right between 2 of the most expensive places on Samui. Friendly staff. Free WIFI. Very quiet. You'll want to rent a motorbike though as its a bit of a walk to the main road

We went for lunch with friends and the food is fantastic, well priced and really great flavor.
Very relaxed with attentive staff right on the beach with view of the surrounding islands and down the coast of Bophut.
As with most places where the staff's English is their second language. Try ordering food as it should be cooked. it is interesting to try food without the complications of western ordering, ie can I have a curry with no curry as i heard a couple trying to order on the next table. The cooks have a fantastic spin on Thai food. It's that simple. They also do western food but didn't try any.
The entrance is down a small lane then the resort with lovely clean budget style bungalows.
We are retuning next week for a friends birthday as it is one of the less complicated spots on the island. Looking forward to the mango daquaris again.

We stayed 4 nights, 500 baht/ fan bungalow, clean, pretty, comfortable bed, new mosquito net, hot water at bathroom. Each bungalow seems different, some have hammocks on the porch, inside they look cosy, simply decorated with good taste. You wont miss the green as along the alleys the trees are making a beautiful curtains where you can spot squirrels. Resto on the beach, nice deco but most dishes are overpriced. Staff is nice and helpfull. Beach is fine.
For 200 baht/ day you can rent a scooter to travel around the island. Nearby, the Fisherman Village has nothing to do with any fisherman, nor any village, is just a bunch of new restos, pubs, bars and shops, full of tourists and high prices. For the cheapest good food you can go on the main road (pad thai at 70 bath, grilled snapper for around 170 bath).

TIP FOR SNORKELLING: take a scooter, go to the south of the island at Thong Tanod, enter the Coconut Villa and at the end of the road you will see a small messy house facing the sea. They do cheap trips: covered boat, 2 pers, 4 hrs - total 1400 baht, you can see 2 islands: Koh Tan for coral reefs and Koh Mudsum for swimming and chill out.

Room tip: take one with hammock, of course!

We stayed in one of the beach huts for a night. It was basic and sort of clean. We shared the bathroom with ants which wasn't ideal. Very conveinent as right on the beach so great if wanted to stay at the beach all day. On a evening walking from main road back to hut was very dark with very little lighting so a torch would be handy. Also make sure you have plenty insect repellent on all the time while in hut as difficult to keep mosquitos out when opening and closing door and there seemed alot around probably because of where the hut is situated. They do supply a fly net for over the bed which was a great help.
Overall very cheap and great to be able crash out in the hut straight from day in sea and on beach.

6 of us stayed in 3 separate fan rooms, next to each other for 3 days. The price we paid was almost nothing compared to the other resorts where our other friends were staying.Generally, the surrounding was clean .Our bed was comfortable but it's just that the the room was too dark though there are 2 windows, we still had to turn on the lights even when it's sunny outside. The staffs were nice enough to clean our rooms, change our towels and attend to our needs on time. The meals in their restaurant was cheap compared to the other restaurants we'd been.
The bedrooms are not really the kind where you can chill all the time but as I said in my title, if you are on a budget and still wanna enjoy the beach and the whole Koh Samui during the day , you just need a bedroom that's comfortable for you to sleep at night .
In addendum, the place also rent their own motorbikes out for a cheap price so we really had the chance to see the entire Koh Samui island for 2 days.
