Nice property in nice location, rooms are tired now and beach is just okish but the quality of sea is dirty and not good for swimming. The doors to the rooms don't feel secure and the AC is noisy. Not very luxurious the rooms need a good make over, lots of potential for young people.

We use the hotel transfer service which I had booked with the room. They arrived on time and were very helpful. We got checked in within a few seconds of arriving with a very warm welcome. Being off peak season, the hotel was only half full - us and 2 other couples - which was lovely! All rooms have a lovely balcony overlooking the beach, and the beach is bascially your own private beach - perfect! Pool was always clean, poolside bar/cafe had good snacks and drinks (although never ate a meal here). Fishermans village down the road is great, not too touristy but served western and thai food (ate Thai every night very cheaply - Friendly Frog is GREAT and cheap, always busy). I would highly recommend this hotel, we enjoyed every minute, and although we were 2 sisters, the place was full of couple so perfect for honey moons! Loved the staff and location. Only down side is the sea not being that clear and pebbly sand, but you can pop down to Chaweng for this. Much for peacefull and quiet at this hotel, North, than Chaweng to stay though. Enjoy!

Room Tip: 2 levels, depends if you want top or bottom balcony (top in shade, bottom in sun) - i prefer top because less chance of bugs!! x

We stayed at Baan Bophut for one night in May before returning to Europe.
The room had nice furniture but the floor wasn´t that clean. From the balcony you have a nice beach view but you are very close to your neighbours because there are only very low dividing walls.
We didn´t have dinner at the Hotel but only breakfast. There was a "menu" but one can´t change the components but only get them for an extra charge. We didn´t like this lack of flexibility!
The service was very friendly and helpful (our balcony door didn´t work at first but it had been fixed afte 5 minutes by a nice staff member).
The hotel was okay but nothing special.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 7 days in May 2012 and it was excellent. We found the hotel by looking through endless reviews on Trip Advisor and could not believe how nice the pictures and reviews sounded, so we cautiously booked only 2 nights (we have been caught out before). However within 30 minutes of arriving we had extended for the additional 5 nights!

Our room (number 3) was fantastic. It was located on the ground floor, was spacious, clean, comfortable and opened out straight onto our own small terrace (complete with 2 comfy chairs) and then a further 10 paces away were the sunbeds (for this hotel's use only), beach and then eventually the sea and beyond that a great view of Koh Phagnan. A special mention should be reserved for the beds which were the best I've slept in. The hotel also had a good sized pool and a nice undercover open-air seating area that served an included continental breakfast (as well as other breakfast options for an additional cost) as well as a great selection of food (both Thai and non-Thai) for lunch and dinner which while not included were reasonably priced and delicious (we had lunch there nearly everyday). A particular highlight were the milkshakes and smoothies! For dinner we ventured into Fisherman's Village and sampled the restaurants which while more expensive than the average Thai restaurant were good, the best however was the Friendly Frog which while with plastic chairs looked less sophisticated than its upmarket counterparts more than made up for it with excellent food at non "Samui" prices.

The staff were very helpful and those who were customer facing spoke good English. We chatted regularly with the owner John and his daughter Lucy who gave us lots of great advice and were very friendly. They really made the hotel experience more enjoyable.

The hotel's location in Fisherman's Village was great, we were located just away from the main bars and restaurants to not hear any noise but close enough to be only a few minutes walk away. In addition every Friday afternoon/evening the road is closed and they have a fantastic street market which we rated more than the larger night markets in Chang Mai. A personal highlight was a big plate of freshly cooked ribs for 200 baht!

All in all this hotel is brilliant and is exactly like the brochure and pictures/descriptions on their website (I'm positive most of the promo pictures of rooms were taken in our room!).

Room Tip: All rooms are sea facing, we preferred the ground floor as each room owned onto its on veranda with access to the sunbeds and beach.
