“Awesome place”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

What a wonderful place this is, very relaxing charming, and helpful staff.
Landed in Singapore, man what a spread out airport but quaint. Then on to Phuket just the other end of the spectrum small and undergoing big changes before our final destination of Koh Samui another quaint airport with very helpful staff.
The Thai way of life is laid back respectful courteous and humble all at once.
much more to come over the next two weeks as we explore Thailand and what it has to offer.
So far great and varied food thats very cheep.

Room Tip: choose rooms/units closer to beach for less road noise.

Rather a late review i know, but after coming across this resort again on Tripadvisor We thought we owed it Jon and his staff.
We stayed at the Saboey in early February 2013. four of us in two rooms. We can't speak highly enough of GM Jon and his always helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble for them Jon was very knowledgeable about the island, Bell the receptionist, kind and professional. Mr Att thank you for sorting my phone and Thai sim. The rooms were modern and clean, lovely pool, nice breakfast.
Would we go back ? Oh yes please.

Four of us visited the resort for a holiday,we found the manager Jon & his staff very accommodating in all aspects of our stay. The manager Jon went over & above his call of duty in his offering of service. The resort despite being on a main road is quiet. The area is great for a relaxing holiday as it has not got the hustle & bustle of the Chewang area.If we visit Koh Samui again we would certainly return to this resort.

Our first holiday at the Saboey was late February 2013 and we loved it so much, we went back again at the end of May 2013.
This time we took my parents.
Yet again, we have had a fantastic time, beautiful surroundings, outstanding service and my parents have fallen in love with it as well as us!

See you again soon I hope Jon and team

I cannot speak highly enough of the resort. From the moment you arrive (just a short ride from the airport) to the moment you reluctantly return to reality nothing is too much trouble. The resort itself is small and intimate. Even when full you feel untroubled and peaceful. The villa was excellent providing everything you could wish for and the evident upgrades going on without being the slightest disruptive can only improve it in the future. The food is excellent, the drinks are reasonably priced and the pool and grounds relaxing. The GM is always in evidence to answer any question or resolve any issue and was only too happy to solve our requests for gluten free food for breakfast. All in all I cannot wait to go back and would recommend it over the international conglomerates that are dotted all over the island.

Room Tip: We had a beach villa but all the villas are similarly appointed. The suites are nearer the road but...

This is a little gem of a boutique resort on Koh Samui of only 18 rooms, therefore the "team led by an excellent General Manager" gave all the necessary personal touches, covering the small details that make a stay that much more memorable. Yes you will discover the Saboey experience - serenity for the senses. It nestles amidst lush tropical gardens and landscapes that surround a stunning double-infinity freshwater pool and cascading Jacuzzi from which there are endless views out to sea. For those who are looking just to relax with personal, yet unobtrusive service, you have found the place. Also for those who wish for some more activities, sailing, jet ski hire, diving can all be arranged. Bangrat beach is a four kilometre crescent of sand lined with coconut trees and warm azure water which is only a step directly from Saboey.
All this within fifteen minuets from the airport is so convenient for short or long stays. Ours was for a week but we wished it had been for longer. We ventured to Chaweng, which is busy and touristic. Before Chaweng there is Choeng Mon, which is a beautifully cove of white sands and a few resorts. The Fishermans Village in the other direction is a must to visit, particularly on a Friday evening where the Main Street turns into a lively market.
I write this with a little reluctance as it is a small jewel on this island that I would hate success to alter it!! Our stay was memorable and we had no complaints, only complements. This is a place to revisit as often as it is possible.

Room Tip: There is no fitness centre only a four kilometre beach for those who want exercise. Thais love child...

We stayed here for 1 night as a place to stop over on our way between Koh Phangan and Railay and we were pleasantly surprised! Upon arrival (quickly from the airport), you feel as though it will be noisy and a little dirty since it is right on the main road. Once inside you realize that it is the total opposite. We stayed in an Ocean Villa right next to the pool; the room was clean and well appointed. The pool was relaxing and the drinks were strong! The only issue we had was the power going out at night; however I understand this happens a lot on the island due to the rapid construction happening on the island. Saboey is a great place to stay if you want to visit the fisherman's village without having to stay at one of the expensive (overpriced) resorts in that area. Saboey was everything we could have asked for; reasonably priced, clean, well appointed, the staff was friendly and we would absolutely return if & when we go back.

Room Tip: Spring for the Villas
