“Amazing resort, friendly staff, excellent value for money!”
Reviewed November 9, 2011

On our recent trip to Thailand we made the most of our time and travelled between Phuket, Bangkok, Phi Phi Island and Samui. Much to our surprise our cheapest stop over to Samui as well as our shortest was by far our most enjoyable. We chose to stay at Saboey as it is within walking distance to the ferry for the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan and 5mins from airport. On our arrival we were greeted by extremely staff, who took care of our check-in without a hassle even though we were checking in early. Our room was amazing!!!! By far the most beautiful room we stayed in on our trip and this was after staying in 5 star accom (and a lot more expensive) everywhere else. The "White Bar" has the funniest, most entertaining and delightful barman who's wonderful nature will long be remembered as a highlight of our trip. The management took the time to stop and chat to guests and nothing was too hard or out of the way for any of the staff members. The peace & quiet and quality of the resort and their staff in a whole is definitely worth writing home about. We will most certainly return to this resort for our honeymoon next year!!!

Room Tip: There are 2 beach villas in this resort..... pay the extra to stay in one!! They were devine. And te...

I first stayed at Saboey just over two years ago. The resort is now under new management and whilst some of the villas are a little tired, the resort itself is beautifully peaceful, right on the beach, has a lovely pool and the staff and management are always friendly and helpful. If you are looking for 5 star, this isn't for you - YET - but it's a lovely little resort.

I was not well when i reach the hotel and to my surprise i only have less than 5 minutes at the reception for checked in, my big luggage was in the room and i only see female staff working that evening.. what a pleasant welcome!!
The hotel was great! The room was lovely, i enjoyed just staying in and had my coffee at the balcony. The food was tasty, i tried the steam rice and spicy prawn, delicious! It has the local taste in it, unlike some mix taste that you usually found when you have food in other hotel.. The swimming pool was awesome, with a Jacuzzi on top of it. the happy hour was extended to 2 hours instead of one and the bartender was attentive enough to offer the service without being pushy..
The location is strategic enough so you may just walk around the area and can easily find 7 eleven, motor bike rental, tour operator, local food vendor, of course the bars and restaurants.. not to mention massage place too.
It's a great place to stay even when you're traveling alone or with partner and family. The hotel got everything for everybody.

Room Tip: i was staying at the suite and that was good enough for me, its near the reception, with a large rea...

I stayed in the resort with my partner in August 2011.

The Saboey is situated off on a busy road in Bhoput directly adjacent to the beach, near one of the ferry piers. The main entrance building houses the reception area and then leads to an open area with pathways leading to the 'White bar' area and beach bungalows.

We stayed in 'Ocean 5' near the bar. The bungalow is self contained with a large comfortable bed, TV & DVD player, mini bar, fridge, air conditioning and wet room/ vanity area. The bungalow was clean, cool and well presented. Although not five star, the accommodation provides good value for money versus hotels we have stayed in on Samui at a similar price point.

The bathroom area was quite worn and needed redecoration. Although clean, it felt like the touches that had originally been added to provide a luxury feel were fairly tired. Also, the in-room safe had come away from the wall mount, so it would have been pretty easy to steal it!

We transferred to the Saboey after staying in a different hotel on the southwest of the island. We were two hours early for check in, and we were asked to wait by the pool area and bar until the room was ready. We were given towels and drinks whilst we waited and the staff were very polite and helpful. During our wait the English manager introduced himself and we talked about the hotel and how it was in the process of being renovated. Despite this, the pool and bar areas are very pleasant and the view over these and towards the neighbouring islands is great.

We had an early breakfast and the hotel provided a free transfer to the airport (included when we booked on expedia). The hotel also printed out boarding passes for us for our onward flights.

Overall our stay was pleasant. The hotel is nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is pretty good and we would have happily stayed a bit longer. The airport is close by and there are various street restaurants and seven eleven stores nearby.

I stayed here with friends as i was visiting friends on the Island. To say i was impressed was an understatement. The room was beautifully furnished and immaculate, the pool area was stunning. The staff were very warm and welcoming and so lovely to us any time of the day and very helpful.

We were lucky enough to meet the new owner at the end of our stay, again, like his staff very friendly and helpful.

The only two minor issues we had were listened to and actioned upon - very impressive. Will definitely be coming back here again (unless i stay at my friend's places of course).

Room Tip: Penthouse has amazing sunset views

Have to start with thanking Miriam, Ra, Aa, Joy and the rest for the most memorable and awesome holiday. We really relaxed and everything was a call away. Very helpful and efficient hosts (they cant be called staff). We had an amazing time. Cheers till the next time we are there. And thank you. not to forget the wonderful towel decorations. Also the bbq is an excellent idea to explore. Great food, good location and gem of a staff.

Room Tip: Ocean Villas are very scenic.
