My partner (27) and I (20) absolutely enjoyed our stay at Bandara Resort and Spa in early December. We stayed in a Deluxe room that was located on the second floor between the spa and breakfast restaurant (room 521). Considering the location, we had no issue with noise at all.

The buffet has a great selection and the omelettes are amazing! The staff in this particular restaurant are always very happy and are a pleasure to see first thing in the morning. A lady named Apple stood out to me most from her smiling face each morning. The pool side lunches and dinners are very nice also if you want a night in.

The bar has a good range of drinks on offer, both alcoholic and non alcoholic and we loved the service that Big and Kong provided during our stay. However, the bar opens late in the morning (can not remember exactly maybe 9/10am?) and often we would go down to the beach after breakfast and would feel like a smoothie but unfortunately could not get one due to the late-ish opening hours.

The staff in reception were always very lovely from the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out. We were greeted every time we walked through the lobby, they provided information on how to hire a scooter and organising a Bandara staff member to take us into town in a split second! There was confusion with our room credit upon check out (which was our mistake, not the hotels) which was carefully and kindly explained to us.

The two security guards that assist traffic in crossing the road out the front of the hotel were very happy and always there (we did consider asking them when they sleep they were there that often!). We tipped these men when we left for their assistance.

The hotel is a short distance from many great restaurants; The Shack (dinner, steak), W Retreat (AMAZING view!), The Cliff bar and Orgasmic (Different and VERY unique - try the lilac ice cream!) + more!. There are numerous massage places, pharmacy and corner stoores just across the road from the hotel.

The hotel is very tidy and was a pleasure to stay at (the public bathrooms smell amazing!!)

If we were to return to Koh Samui we would stay here again.

There is nothing exciting or exceptional about this hotel. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed we received mediocre treatment in an ordinary property with nothing to warrant any particular praise. The rooms have has a soft refurb and are of a good size but I recommend asking for a room as far away from reception and the restaurant as possible. The sound carries more than the road behind the hotel. Don't expect service by the pool or for the staff to clean it regularity, as used glasses, bottles and ash trays sat there all afternoon one day. Also, getting ice seemed like a mission when I asked at reception and was sent to the bar to then to be told to call room service and being charged for the privilege of delivery. Furthermore, I was directed to the street when I asked for a taxi on one occasion. Not that they were busy either. I think some staff training and supervision would not be out of order. I will be staying at another report next time I am in Bophut.

Room Tip: As far away from reception as possible.

We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced at our resort. With regards to the lack of service at the pool bar, we are looking into ways of improving the quality of service. We have implemented a spot check routine in order to make sure that all our guests are being properly serviced. As for the taxi transfer, it is very surprising to hear that you are directed to the street. We always provide our guests with our own transfer service or call an outside taxi for you. Please allow me to check this case. Again, we apologize for the poor service with regards to the ice. It is an easy request for Room Service.

Thank you for your constructive criticisms and we do apologize for not being able to live up to your expectations. We will work hard to fix these problems and become a better hotel!

Just got back from the bandara resort what a great time we had
We had an poolside villa which was worth every penny after a long day on the beach to plunge into pool with a cold chang perfect
Outside bath and shower was great as well all the staff were great especially the 2security guards that used to stop the traffic on the very busy road
Great location 5 minutes walk from fisherman's village Shack great restaurant the best steak on the island must visit
Good all round hotel complex

A good looking property and room, great service, a short easy walk down the beach from the lovely Bhoput Fisherman's Village. Was impressed with quality and selection of the included breakfast. Enjoyed a buffet on the beach for our first night. Would stay again.

I stayed in bandara for a week at the start of December. We had quite a long journey to get there but it was well worth it. Staff were waiting with hot towels and cold lemon cocktails on our arrival. The hotel is stunning and its location is excellent, just a short walk from the fishermans village. When we checked in we were told that there was construction going on in the hotel and as compensation we had money to spend in the hotel. To be honest i didn't see any construction and the credit we received payed for meals and drinks most nights. staff a t the hotel couldn't have been more helpful and the rooms were always left immaculate.
