“Absolutely amazing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and everything was amazing. Check-in was quick and easy with a refreshing complementary drink, bracelet of flowers and cold towel. We were upgraded and given a complementary bottle of wine and chocolate cake, a stuffed monkey toy and the bath was filled with pettles sprinkled on the water. The staff are very friendly, helpul, polite and attentive. The hotel is spotless from the foyer to the rooms to the restaurant and the pool. The attention to detail is 100% with the grounds being tended to everyday and flowers placed all around the hotel. The food and cocktails were lovely however there are also loads of places near by to eat and drink. Location-wise, the hotel is in a great area - a 5 min walk from Fisherman's village which consists of many bars and restaurant. In particulr Coconut Cuisine beach bar was amazing as was Shades, an Indian restaurant with the best Indian food we have ever had!
We definitely recommend this resort - the staff could not do enough to help us during our stay and I can not think of one negative thing to say about this hotel.

Currently sitting on a sun bed by the pool... The location is perfect for the beach and an easy walk to fisherman's village. Similar to other reviews our check in was simple, little paperwork a lovely cold drink and very cold refreshing towel. Our room was ready in minutes and understand the wait was so they could make the special finishing touches.the staff are very friendly a nd nothing too much trouble without being intrusive and you feel they are genuinely trying to ensure that you want for nothing.

We had a meal here the day we arrived we chose to have the set menu in l'ocean restaurant and apart from the meal being too big it was otherwise delicious, I am no expert on Thai food but would suggest from theflavours that is was authentic and an excellent standard.

I have already enquired about availability for next September but am informed the hotel is full... lucky you if you are booked in here!

I can also say my husband and I experienced a problem not connected to the hotel and when we spoke to guest relations about this their assistance has been exceptional, not only in helping with the issue but in their total care for myself and my husband - we thank them from this.

Overall this is an excellent hotel and one which I highly recommend.

Oh and a special thank you to the L'ocean restaurant staff who brought me copious cups of espresso coffee at breakfast, it is the best coffee.

Finally we will be sorry to leave on Sunday but plan to return

If you fail to have an amazing stay here then you have been very unlucky. My wife booked this for my birthday. She dealt with the hotel direct and it was straight forward, getting offered upgrades and offers. We were picked up at the airport and quickly shown to our garden villa. The grounds of the hotel are very well kept gardens and these are full of many different plants, flowers and trees. The gardens manage to make the area seem very secluded and not just a cluster of buildings.

The pool and the surrounding area was very lovely and relaxing.

Breakfast was delicious with all options there to choose, fresh fruit, fresh eggs cooked any way, noodles and dim sum! No shortage for all and drinks to go with it too.

The hotel bar and restaurant had a nice menu to choose from that wasn't ridiculously more expensive than you usually find at hotels.

The location is excellent. On the beach front with a short walk to the fishermans village. This is turn is an adventure, plenty of food and shops.

The gym is sparce but adequate.

Staff are friendly and helpful although at times you just want to poor your own water!!

If any 'negatives' the accommodation decor is a little tired and the fittings could do with updating but this does not detract from spacious comfortable villas.

A great stay and would recommend highly.

My friend and I recently stayed at Bo Phut Resort & Spa and had a really fantastic time! Upon arrival (we were an hour early) we were greeted with many smiles, seated in reception and offered cool towels and cold refreshing drinks. We filled out a little bit of paperwork and our Guest Relations Officer organised our check in. As our rooms were not readily available as we were early we were offered a complimentary neck and shoulder massage at the day spa (Awesome!), however the massage went for more than 20 mins and was a proper day spa style luxurious massage – we were floating! We were then offered cold drinks in the day spa afterwards and then lead to our room which was gorgeous!!
We booked a standard twin room which was really lovely and quite large. We were so impressed with the quality of the furnishings and how comfortable the room was. The pool was also lovely, not too big and not too small! Breakfast was a standard buffet with some good options, and the staff were always going out of their way to ensure everyone was receiving the best treatment possible!
We couldn’t fault this resort – the service, location, quality, comfort – it was everything you would want!
The only thing I could fault was we really would have loved some relaxing music whilst by the pool… We resorted to using our iPhone on loudspeaker from time to time… Other resorts nearby had some lovely live acoustic music in the evenings and great chilled tunes by the pool during the day – that would have an added bonus!

Room Tip: If you have a special occasion, let the staff know - they will organise a lovely surprise!

We spent a 7 day vacation at this resort on Koh Samui. If you are looking for peace and quiet, with the minimum of scheduled activities this is the place for you. It has a nice spa that offers reasonable rates, good dining options on the premises and even more reasonable ones nearby (Fisherman's Village) and a staff that is always obliging, unobtrusive and never pushy. The rooms are nice and well maintained, attended to twice daily, they come with tempting scented toiletries and lamps, free daily local fruits and water. The pool is kept very clean but is, like the resort itself of modest size. The attendants are very courteous, always ready to readjust the umbrellas, reserve your chairs and replace your towels, take orders for drinks or food, join in for a game of table tennis on an ideally positioned table, etc. Basic water sports like canoeing and wind-surfing are free and there are always boats ready for hire nearby for other water activities. The ocean water is great for swimming, with hardly any waves, but alas, not very clear due to ?therapeutic mud deposits on the bottom. There are no tropical fish to accompany you on your swims. The dining options in Fisherman's Village and even closer are excellent (we especially liked Cafe 69 and the Starfish and Coffee restaurants).
At the end of our stay, we noticed a nice coconut shell sculpture of a mother and baby bird hanging on a branch near the towel change. One of the staff had made it. He offered it to us as a present.

Room Tip: The resort is relatively small and all rooms are in good proximity to pool/restaurant/beach.

Having been to samui a few times Bo phut is by far my favourite place to stay on the island. This hotel was in a great spot on the beach a short stroll to the fishermans village.
The resort had everything we needed and was set in beautiful surroundings. The staff were all very helpful.
The only led down was the restaurant on site. The Thai food was a bit bland and western for our liking.

Spent several days at the Bo Phut at the beginning of September, after a few weeks travelling in East Asia. Excellent hotel, cannot praise it enough: pleasant, personable staff; calm, tranquil atmosphere; wonderful location - an attractive garden and good beach frontage, plus easy walking distance to Fisherman's Village, though meals at the hotel are exceptional - both buffet breakfast and traditional food served at the Sala Thai restaurant. Hope to return. A small piece of paradise on earth, good for oldies (like ourselves) and families with young children.
