We stayed at Bo Phut for 8 nights at the start of our honeymoon - it was everything we wanted and lived up to all the fantastic reviews we had read here. Bo Phut is a lovely area - more upmarket and relaxed than Chaweng and we felt the beautiful beach was much cleaner and well kept, although the sand is more coarse - but nothing to worry about. The fisherman's village is a short walk either by road or on the beach and is a lovely place to spend the evening, with a great selection of bars and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were very attentive and the service was outstanding. I won't spoil all the little touches but you will be well looked after - the restaurants and the spa were also very good. We had a outdoor jacuzzi room which was lovely, spacious and serviced with care everyday. Would highly recommend this hotel for a lovely holiday or honeymoon.

room:
We were upgraded to a pool villa as our deluxe jacuzzi room was sold out, the room we were given was large and clean it had almost floor to ceiling windows all the way around but was very private. The room came with an espresso machine, tea facilities, dvd player( a little tempromental) and off course tv although not flat screen and no ipod doc. The bathroom had a wardrobe area, dressing area, 2 sinks, indoor shower, out door shower and bathtub. The garden/pool area had some seating facilities and some greenery, the pool was fair sized and not heated.

It was raining whilst we were there so there was a fair amount of insects and frogs, however the rooms had floor to ceiling insects nets( which could be pulled up during the day), blinds and the bed also had a insect net. We were also provided with insect plug in repellent, however i still got a few bites, which is to be expected.

The staff :
were very kindly acknowledged our special occasion with special floral decor on our bed and cake gifts and nearly every member of staff the we passed on my husbad bday wished him a happy birthday. Also my travel agent advised of my bird phobia which was adressed on check in which ws also appreciated. The front desk staff were always smiling and happy to help. However some of the service staff were a little expectant of tips, I never like it when staff hover for tips.

facilities:
The grounds are pretty, the spa is ok not high end but the prices reflect this, it is more expensive then outside the resort but cheaper then other resorts. The pool is well maintained although not heated, it remains warm even when not sunny. The beach is not private, but well maintained with isolated loungers for guest. As boput is such a tourist resort you only get other tourists walking past the beach, the hotels guest at the beach and it never got crowded and was for most parts clean. The beach it self is nice, the shore is clear but the water becomes more clouded further in, the sand is slightly yellow and course. There are people walking up and down the beach selling things but if you don't want their good they just keep walking, didn't bother us at all.

The 2 restaurant are ok and pretty quite. We ate at the sala restaurant which is pretty and located facing the pond, surprisingly i didn't get bitten during my meal and no frogs came to visit, although a cat did. Food was good thai food although the service staff were a little less smiley then most thai people i had encountered during our trip to thailand. The breakfast was very good with a variety of hot and cold options.

location:
The resort is located next to the bandara, hansar and zazen, so they all share the same beach. From looking at the other resorts whilst walking on the beach, i think bophut may have a more villa feel to it compared to the others, but i don't think you could go wrong with its location if you want to be in bophut. The fishermans market is a 10-15min walk along the beach, here you can find a large range of restaurants, food shops and tailor shops, not much else. We travelled in to cheweng which was a 10-15min cab ride for about 400 bhat, there are a lot more restaurants to see here and it becomes quite lively at night.

we also had a hotel transfer to/from the airport which was well organised and they checked in for us on our departure which was nice not having to stand in que!

Over all i would recommend this hotel the service is personal and friendly and the ground/rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained. We especially appreciated there efforts in acknowledging our special occasions.

Room Tip: avoid garden rooms during rainy season if you don't like frogs and insects. the jacuzzi rooms ar...

On honeymoon in Koh Samui and we had the fortune and pleasure of staying in the Bo Phut Resort. Absolutely stunning and amazing hotel. Friendliest and most helpful staff we have ever encountered from the reception staff, the pool area staff right to the grounds keeping staff. Villa we stayed in was magnificent and the attention to detail was beyond belief. A honeymoon cake, fresh flowers and wine on arrival in our room. Pool area practically on the beach and resort located only 2 minute walk to Fishermans village where there are bars and restaurants to cater for all. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough and it has changed our opinion on how we will rate hotels in the future. All in all a fantastic hotel.

Loved the Bophut Resort and Spa. We were actually looking at getting married here - but opted not to, as we would have liked to have a resort with a bar area for gathering guests. However, we will be back and could not recommend the resort more for a holiday. Just for our particular wedding needs (ie guests from Ireland who like to sit around a bar) it wouldnt have worked.
In terms of fufulling overall wedding needs, it was almost perfect. Its not too small, but an agreeably intimate resort, with prices for a wedding were extremely competitive. When were arrived, Ann, the Sales Manager for the resort came out to greet us specifically. Very nice touch. I imagine that if they were hosting a wedding, it would be attention to detail. Also, she took us through some options of where they would host it in the resort and it would have all been extremely lovely. Worth checking out if you are considering getting married in Koh Samui,
Check-in/Check Out: Easy, effecient and friendly staff. Plus a lovely flower garland as a welcome guesture.
Rooms: Beautiful and tastefully decorated. Lovely terrace/balcony and major attention to detail in the rooms. Massive beds, and they have everything you can think of in the rooms. Personalised welcome basket and mozzie repellent and candles lighting for the turn down service at night. Absolutely loved the rooms. Had a great nights sleep. All the little extras were amazing.
Pool Scene: The pool was the focal area - and the deck chairs all pretty close together by the pool and on the beach. However, there were amazing staff who looked after your every need by the pool, so it made it a great pool scene.
Beach: Bophut beach water is a little murky compared to other places on the island. Its simply because the peir is nearby and so are lots of boats. Its not the best beach in the world, but still lovely in terms of scenery.
Food/Drink: Breakfast was great - lots of choice and a noodle/fried rice station in addition to the egg station. Cocktails ordered to your sun lounger by the pool as well as food. Food in the hotel fine. However, because of its location, most people eat out.
Location: You couldnt ask for better positioned resort. It is walking distance to the fishermans village along the beach, there is a spa and shops across the road, so you can save a few pennies instead of ordered at the hotel, and the outlook is beautiful.
Overall, I would highly recommend this resort - its well maintained, the gardens are gorgeous staff are super friendly, they are considerate, thoughtful, they have lots of extras, its well located and you feel special. The beach isnt great and the pool not mind blowing - but we looked at every resort on Bohput beach, and this is by far the best. You will not regret staying here! We will be back!
