Reviewed June 9, 2014 via mobile

The Nest is pristine, beautiful and immaculately kept-the grounds and rooms are beautiful and comfortable very clean and excellently maintained. The hosts and family are extremely pleasant helpful with anything you need and they speak excellent English. Unfortunately the surrounding area is quite polluted and detracts from the lovely establishment that it is.

Stayed for 2 nights prior to a wedding on the island. The accommodation is great for the price and the room was exactly what we needed. The Nest is located down an alley that doesn't build your expectations but once inside you feel like you've entered a haven. The location away from the main street also means it is quiet at night. The one thing that makes the Nest so good are the owners and hosts - they were all wonderful to us and made us feel like part of the family with handy hints and tips. The transfers around the island we're also very handy, safe and much easier than having to barter with the local taxi drivers.
The hosts really made all the difference and if we were to go back to Samui and needed somewhere for a couple of days would definitely return to the Nest. For a longer stay than a couple of days you may wish to have somewhere on the beach or with a bigger pool but that's just a minor point.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good

We have just returned from a three week trip to Thailand had spend one of our weeks on K.Samui at The Nest and how please we were that we chose to stay here out of all the places on the island.
We arranged with Matt to pick us up from the pier upon our arrival and this was the most swift and smooth transfer we could have wished for after a very early rise and 5 hour ferry trip to the island.
We were so pleased with all aspects of The Nest the accommodation is very clean and simple and one of the most well kept establishments we have stayed at during all our visits to Thailand.
Matt and his family are very nice and will go out of their way to give you info and advice on what to see and do on the island and even arranged a hire car for us which is a must on k.samui in our opinion.
Breakfast is served on your own terrace each morning by their two wonderful housekeeping staff and attention to detail is up there everything is in its place and kept so neat and tidy.
The small pool is welcoming at the end of a hot humid day on samui.
We arranged for Matt to take us to the airport on our departure also and this was not a problem.
The location of The Nest is on a little side street off the main road were there is plenty to be had there are many places to eat and drink and there is a 7/11 right at the end of the road to The Nest there are also laundry services and massage/hair places all very close to the property.
We found the best place for a stroll at night and to see a very pretty sun set is over the road at the secret garden and again it was Matt who advise us of this on our first day.
We would stay here again if we were to visit Samui and would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone.
We thank you all at The Nest for our fantastic week on K.Samui.

I just got back from holiday with my girlfriend after stays in The Nest and Sandalwood in Samui. Both are great places but I would probably just say the next time I am in Koh Samui, I will be back at The Nest.

The host at the Nest are friendly and nice which makes you feel part of the family there. They give excellent suggestions on places to visit and restaurants to dine in. Breakfast is simple but nice. The place itself is kept very clean by the two maids tending to the five rooms there. While the Nest is quiet for a good night rest, it is by no means remote. In fact, the Nest is just five to ten minutes walk away from good food, nice massage, chill out bars and the beach. (Have Matt help you book a table for dinner at Ocean Eleven if you are at the Nest, wonderful experience)

Thank you Charlie, Malee and Matt for taking us of us during our stay at The Nest!

Room Tip: Choose either the superior or deluxe rooms

We stayed at The Nest around middle of February. We initially booked our stay for two days. We were meant to go to anothrer resort in Samui after those two days. But guess what? We've cancelled the second booking and extended our stay at The Nest! Why? Because it was by far the most welcoming resort ever, all thanks to the family that owns it.

Words cannot describe how great our stay was. Peace and tranquillity all around. Beautifully designed cosy resort with intricate details around. Just the place you need after exploring the busy life of Bangkok! Or if you are generally looking for a peaceful stay.

The room was in a way like bungalow. Neat and tidy. Housekeeping always at high standards. Great water pressure and Wi-Fi connection.

We were greeted like members of family, which made us feel very welcome. The family were very helpful by giving advice about local attractions and restaurants, which made our stay in Samui even more interesting and adventurous.

The resort is short walking distance to the beach and there are some lovely restaurants nearby. However if you are feeling adventurous, there's a bike rental nearby too, where you can hire a bike and travel around the island.

Thank you all so much for your hospitality and kindness. We miss you!! Hopefully see you again soon. The Nest is the BEST!!

Kind Regards and best wishes ;)

My wife & I are now enjoying the ninth day of our stay here at The Nest, and we could not be ANY happier with our choice of accommodation for this, our third trip to Koh Samui (the others being in 1991 - Imperial Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng; and 2009 – Renaissance, Lamai).

When we began planning this trip in late 2013, my wife spent significant time researching dozens of places for us to stay in the Mae Nam, Bangrak, and Bophut areas on Koh Samui. Because of the unanimous “excellent” reviews of The Nest here on TripAdvisor, we finally decided that we would stay at The Nest. Margaret then booked our stay directly via The Nest’s website.

Service at The Nest is EXACTLY as other reviewers have described: attentive, friendly and helpful. Charlie, Mali, and Matt all go out of their way to provide information, advice, and assistance whenever requested to do so, whether it be to give recommendations on places to visit and things to do on Koh Samui, or in other locations convenient to here. They're also quite good with recommendations for local restaurants...!

Matt picked Margaret & me up following our arrival at Koh Samui airport, and drove us to The Nest. Later that evening, when we wanted to go shopping in Chaweng to stock up on some provisions for our room (which is equipped with a kitchenette: sink, and a good-sized refrigerator), Matt drove us to the new Central Festival shopping complex (http://www.centralfestival.co.th/samui/about-1.html), dropped us off there, and then came back to pick us up a couple hours later after we phoned to let him know we were ready to return to The Nest (all three of these transfers cost us only what they would have had we taken a taxi each time).

The Nest is located less than 100 metres down a gravel street/laneway (directly opposite the Big Buddha Pier) that runs off the main road that connects Bophut to Chaweng.

Staying at The Nest is like being in a "mini-Villa": you are in a secluded and well-secure walled compound, with only five individual and well-separated rooms, sharing a pool that is kept IMMACULATELY clean at all times.

Along with the pool, the rooms, bathrooms, and grounds of The Nest are kept immaculately clean also (if you want to know details, please message me).

Water pressure in the shower (which can sometimes be “hit and miss” in Thailand – even in five star properties at times) is fantastic at The Nest, and hot water is in abundance (we have friends who stayed in a resort on Koh Samui during Easter 2013, and they were without water – full stop, hot or cold – for almost two days).

On the first full day of our stay at The Nest, a kettle was brought to our room for us to make coffee and tea before our continental breakfast (freshly cut fruit, croissants, and coffee and tea) is delivered every morning. Our room has been replenished daily with two bottles of water, as well as coffee and tea.

One morning after breakfast, as we were getting ready to leave The Nest for the day, and with light rain beginning to fall, one of the two housekeeping attendants (who are on site every day from around 8:00AM until approximately 5:00PM) – without being asked – brought an umbrella to our room. Another time, one afternoon after we had returned to The Nest and were getting ready to go to enjoy the pool, one of the attendants went and put cushions on two sun loungers and turned the spa jets on for us. Talk about “intuitive service”!

Since The Nest is not on the beach (if it was, you’d be paying at least two to three times the price), for those guests who wish to enjoy the absolutely beautiful Bangrak Beach (which is, IMHO, very much nicer than the beaches at either Bophut or Lamai), they have an informal arrangement with Secret Garden Beach Resort (http://secretgardensamui.com/en/), a lovely beach bungalow complex with restaurant/beer garden (live music every Sunday) that is about a five minute walk from The Nest.

Matt took Margaret & me to Secret Garden on the first full day of our stay on Koh Samui, introduced us to the staff, and we were told that they would look after us if ever we went there to use their facilities on the beach (sun loungers and umbrellas)…as long as we bought a drink or had something to eat. Secret Garden VERY quickly became our “home away from home”, and has some of the best Thai food we’ve ever eaten on Koh Samui!

If you are seeking a restful, relaxing, EXCEPTIONALLY clean, and QUIET place to stay on Koh Samui, with comfortable beds, as well as one that offers a location that is convenient to a beautiful beach, and close to many good and affordable restaurants, you absolutely can’t go past The Nest, which is very well deserving of its #1 ranking here on TripAdvisor.

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions about The Nest.

Room Tip: If staying for an extended period, #3 has a kitchenette.

4 days of pure pleasure. If you don´t know the island before, start your trip here. You will get a great perspective of the do´s and don´ts of Koh Samui thank´s of the Thong family. The Nest it self, is hidden in a small road from the main street and is completely different from the environment surrounding it, with that saying; perfectly clean, organized, quiet and with raked gravel paths. European/Asian style, a grate mix of both and the owner have thought of everything. There is one room smaller (and cheaper) then the others where we stayed, for a few nights thats all you need, but if you stay longer it is to recommend the bigger one. The bed were really comfortable and the air condition quit and effective. For the first time on our holiday we also had a perfectly good enough pressure in the shower. Breakfast wise its not a buffè, but it will give you a great start of the day.
All in all, being travelers this is definitely one of the best places you can come to.

Charlie,Mali and Matt thank you for a fantastic staying - You are 100% good hart!
