“As good as it gets!!!”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We took a private charter for one day as we had a bigger family gathering on the island and it was one of the best days we had during any holiday. The food the crew the atmosphere, the follow up. It was a perfect mixture of nature, sailing, relaxing, being left alone by the crew, talking to interesting people on the boat.
Anybody who does not book this tour is missing Koh Samui's real highlight

Thanks a lot for this day!

“A Sailing Adventure!!!!!!!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

This is a wonderful way to spend a day in Koh Samaui. From the moment we jumped on board the 'Chantara' our trip was an adventure. The weather was sunny and the crew were very friendly and helpful. The snorkelling was great with lots of unusual fish compared to where we live in Australia. Some of the crew started fishing and were catching a rainbow/silver coloured fish called a Squirrell fish. Then came time for lunch and being a vegetarian I was cooked a special thai curry meal that was so delicious,I tried to get the secret recipe, but the cook refused to give away his magic ingredients. The weather turned just after lunch but that didn't deter our fun, so off to a beach we went in search of more adventures. After a shower of rain we went back to the boat for a quick nap and an interesting trip home with very large waves and rain lapping at our sides. The crew were great and the Captain kept us on a smooth course considering the stormy weather.I would recommend this trip to all visitors especially if you like sailing and the sea. I had such a great time that I cannot wait to sail on this Boat again when I return to Koh Samui.

“A Brilliant Day!”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We were looking for a day boat-trip and we were impressed with the number of really positive reviews for the Chantara Junk trip to Ko Phangan on TripAdvisor. All our expectations were far exceeded.

Right from the moment we were collected from our hotel at 08.30am to the time we were dropped off around 5.30pm we were looked after. After arrival at the boat we were met with a light breakfast of coffee and croissants and then set sail (well with the motor. Each family, group or couple received an individual briefing (in either English, French, or German) about how the day would unfold.

At the first stopping point those who wanted went snorkelling on the reef. The water visibility wasn't brilliant but was OK and was probably reasonable considering the time of year (entering the rainy season) and the fact that the weather had ben unsettled for the two previous days). Others could fish of just sunbathe and listen to the excellent music that accompanied us throughout the day. The crew were very professional and all day we were offered drinks and light refreshments. After the snorkelling, we had a buffet lunch that ranked amongst the best we had during our two week stay in Koh Samui.

The second stopping point was around the island on the western coast. Here, we went jet skiing for half an hour while others had a massage, or a cold beer on the beach. We were much happier renting a jet ski here (rather than on Chaweng Beach, where we has heard stories of rip-off scams) as the renters were recommended by the crew from Chantara and we felt sure the Chatara would intervene if we were not treated fairly. The final stretch back to port was very relaxing and we could admire the beautiful island coastline.

We would recommend this trip unreservedly, especially because the owners and crew went to so much trouble to make sure we really. enjoyed the day. They're attention to service and detail was fantastic. It was undoubtedly one of the top highlights of our holiday. We paid 2500 baht per person which was also exceptional value for money. We hope you take this trip and if you do we are sure you will also have a great day!
