Walked around Fisherman's Village and looked at other restaurants there before deciding to try Smile House. It had the most people and just nice it had one table left right on the sandy beach for my wife and I. Staff was nice and friendly to us and food was served quite fast. Food was not too bad (we had Thai food) and prices weren't that expensive. We ordered cocktails and 4 dishes, which came up to about 1500thb.

Be sure to choose the tables on the sandy beach. Makes for an excellent alfresco dining experience with the nice breeze and cosy lighting under the trees. Do not expect Michelin Star quality food or 5 star service though...they are still a very much normal Thai restaurant.

We had a lovely dinner here last night. Great food, good portions. Just would prefer food to come out all at the same time as we were a large party and some people waited longer than others.

Similar to other reviewers the lack of service, even by local standards, is appallingly poor. Skip this place, may other choices available in Bophut.

We arrived at Smile House with our 18 month old son, wanting to have a few drinks before sunset and perhaps a few small dishes to share. Staff were nothing short of rude -- we were told that we were not allowed to sit outside and if we wanted to eat, we had to sit inside in the restaurant.

We found this strange as there were very few people around (it was only 5pm) and all but 2 tables occupied. We decided not to stay on account of the less than friendly welcome, and headed to another nearby waterfront restaurant where we enjoyed a great meal and fabulous cocktails.

I would not recommend this restaurant -- there are many better places to eat in Fishermans Village.

While the food was good and the atmosphere nice, with a table right on the beach, our drinks tasted watered down. You'd think they would want to impress you with their special concoctions, but they were flavorless with undetectable spirits. Stick to beer.
